    Podcast Summary

    • Leveraging LinkedIn for Hiring and Personal GrowthLinkedIn is a powerful platform for businesses to find top talent and individuals to expand their skills and connections, as demonstrated by Sandra's successful hiring and Taylor Swift's billion-dollar career.

LinkedIn is a valuable resource for businesses looking to hire professionals, as over 70% of its users don't visit other leading job sites. This means that great candidates, like Sandra who was mentioned in the podcast, might not be found elsewhere. Additionally, the discussion also highlighted the success story of Taylor Swift, who became a billionaire through her music career and her connection with her fans, known as Swifties. Her tour, which is still ongoing, has the potential to make her up to $4 billion personally. Swift's determination and ability to turn industry challenges into strengths are also notable. For businesses, utilizing LinkedIn for hiring and for individuals, continuing to develop their skills and connections, can lead to significant opportunities.

    • Taylor Swift's determination and resilience fueled her music career successBorn with a love for country music, Swift moved to Nashville at 11, persisted through rejections, and signed a record deal at 13. Her need for control led to controversies, but her determination and talent kept her at the top.

Taylor Swift's drive and need for control have been instrumental in her rise to fame and success in the music industry. From a young age, Swift showed a strong determination to pursue her dreams, despite being turned down numerous times. Her parents supported her, but it was Swift's own determination and resilience that propelled her forward. Born into a wealthy family in Pennsylvania, Swift discovered her love for country music and began writing songs at a young age. She moved to Nashville at the age of 11, determined to get a record deal, and despite being turned down by numerous labels, she refused to give up. Her persistence paid off, and she signed a deal with RCA Records at the age of 13. Swift's need for control extended to her music, and she has famously feuded with record labels and other artists over the ownership of her master recordings. Despite controversies and setbacks, Swift's determination and talent have kept her at the top of the music industry, making her one of the most successful and famous artists in the world.

    • Taylor Swift's Family Moves for Her Music Career in TennesseeSwift's determination and unique perspective led her to leave Pennsylvania for Nashville, buy her first car, and eventually become a successful artist despite challenges in the male-dominated country music industry.

Taylor Swift's determination and raw talent led her family to move from Pennsylvania to Tennessee when she was just a teenager for her potential music career. During her time in Nashville, she wrote songs with hit songwriters and even bought a car as a symbol of her success and a way to assert herself against her peers. Despite facing challenges in the male-dominated country music industry, Swift's unique perspective and songwriting abilities set her apart. When she felt stifled by her artist development deal, she walked away and caught the attention of a record executive who became a crucial part of her career. Ultimately, Swift's unwavering commitment to her craft paid off, leading her to become a successful and influential artist.

    • Taylor Swift's Early Success and ControversiesAt 16, Taylor Swift became a millionaire by uniquely combining her songwriting and performing talents, using emerging technologies like Myspace to build a deep fanbase, and enduring a legal battle after parting ways with her manager.

Taylor Swift's early success in the music industry was marked by her determination to be pivotal to her company's success, even with the help of her father's shares. However, her rise to fame was not without controversy, as she parted ways with her manager Dan Dintro, leading to a lengthy legal battle. Swift's unique position as both a songwriter and performer set her apart financially from her peers, making her a millionaire by the age of 16. Swift's use of emerging technologies, particularly Myspace, allowed her to build a deep connection with her fans, setting the stage for her mammoth tours and continued success. Despite not being the first artist to use social media, Swift's personal relationship with her fans stood out, allowing them to see the world through her perspective. By the age of 18, Swift released her second album, "Fearless," which spent 11 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard charts and became the top-selling album in the US that year. Swift's career has been characterized by her massive tours and her ability to harness technology to connect with her fans.

    • Taylor Swift's Career Turning Point: Kanye West InterruptionSwift's controversial MTV VMAs moment led to increased publicity, solidified her position as a powerful figure, and showcased her ability to turn negatives into positives.

Taylor Swift's career experienced a significant turning point during her 2009 MTV Video Music Awards speech interruption by Kanye West. This controversial moment generated immense publicity, leading to increased profile and success. Swift's response, including her subsequent battles with streaming services for fair compensation, solidified her position as a powerful figure in the music industry. Her ability to leverage negative situations into positive outcomes, such as her public image as a victim and her manipulation of media attention, has been a key factor in her continued success. Additionally, her high-profile relationships have consistently made headlines, further contributing to her prominent public persona.

    • Taylor Swift's Love Life and MusicTaylor Swift's love life has inspired numerous songs and public controversies, including feuds with Kanye West and a radio DJ. Swift's need for health insurance remains a constant concern, and UnitedHealthcare TriTerm Medical plans offer flexible, budget-friendly coverage.

Taylor Swift's love life has significantly influenced her music, with several high-profile relationships inspiring various songs. Some of these relationships, like those with Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, and Tom Hiddleston, were heavily publicized and sparked controversy, particularly her alleged feud with Kanye West over his song "Famous." Other relationships, like the one with Joe Alwyn, were kept private. Swift's public battles, including her accusations against a radio DJ for groping her and her feud with Kanye West, have helped redefine her public image and set the scene for the bigger dramas that would come in the 2020s. Despite these public battles, Swift's need for health insurance remains a constant concern, and UnitedHealthcare TriTerm Medical plans offer flexible, budget-friendly coverage that lasts nearly 3 years in some states.

    • Professional Networking in Music and BusinessUnderstanding the unique challenges and opportunities of professional networking is crucial in both the business and creative worlds. Taylor Swift's experience with her music masters highlights the power dynamics at play, while her resilience underscores the importance of adaptability.

LinkedIn is an essential platform for hiring professionals, offering access to a large pool of candidates who may not be actively seeking new opportunities. Meanwhile, in the world of music, ownership of masters has become a contentious issue. Taylor Swift's experience with her back catalog being sold to Scooter Braun serves as a reminder of the power dynamics at play. Swift's public response sparked a heated debate, with Justin Bieber defending Braun and questioning Swift's motivations. Despite the controversy, Swift continued to make music and set records, illustrating her resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity. Ultimately, these stories highlight the importance of understanding the unique challenges and opportunities that come with professional networking in both the business and creative worlds.

    • Taylor Swift's Career Shift and Success During the PandemicTaylor Swift responded to canceled tours by releasing critically acclaimed albums, showcasing maturity, and asserting ownership of her masters, leading to unwavering fan loyalty and record-breaking sales

Taylor Swift, with a net worth of $360 million, faced a significant shift in public perception during the pandemic when she had to cancel her tour. In response, she released two critically acclaimed albums, "folklore" and "evermore," which showcased a new maturity and distanced her from her past public persona. Swift also faced backlash from the media, but her change in tone and approach to songwriting brought her critical acclaim. A masterstroke move came when she rerecorded her first six albums, asserting ownership of her masters and releasing "Taylor's versions," which her fans have since embraced. Swifty fans have shown unwavering loyalty by not listening to the original versions and buying the rerecorded ones again. Swift's career continued to soar with her retrospective "Eras Tour," which features songs from all ten studio albums and has already grossed over $1 billion, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.

    • Taylor Swift's Impact on the Music Industry and EconomyTaylor Swift's success in the post-streaming era includes revenue from music sales, live performances, merchandise, and social media engagement, contributing an estimated $4.73 billion to America's GDP and making her the first billionaire from music alone.

The music industry has evolved significantly in the post-streaming era, and artists like Taylor Swift have mastered the art of generating revenue not only through music sales but also through live performances, merchandise, and social media engagement. Swift's success, coined as the "Taylor Swift effect" or "swiftonomics," has been a game-changer, with her 53 US shows alone contributing an estimated $4.3 billion to America's GDP. Her concert movie also made an additional $100 million in global presales. Swift's ability to maintain a strong fanbase and engagement through social media is crucial in this new business model, requiring constant attention and interaction. Swift's net worth, estimated at $1.1 billion, makes her the first and only billionaire from music alone. Her impact extends beyond her music, with her relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce leading to increased jersey sales, followers, and NFL viewing figures. Swift's upcoming tour in Asia, Australia, and Europe is projected to net her an additional $4 billion, potentially quadrupling her wealth in the next few years.

    • Swift's Impact on Music Industry and Future GrowthSwift's impact on music industry is significant with record-breaking tours, but her future growth depends on her artistic evolution

Taylor Swift's fame and success are unprecedented in the music industry, with her tours being the highest grossing of all time. However, her future growth as an artist will determine if her fame continues to soar or if it begins to decline. Swift's wealth, though significant, is not as ostentatious as other billionaires, and her rags-to-riches story is not as dramatic as some other famous figures. Despite her public feuds, she is often portrayed as the wronged party who triumphs over adversity. Overall, Swift's impact on the music industry and her ability to evolve as an artist will continue to shape her legacy.

    • Taylor Swift's PhilanthropyTaylor Swift's philanthropic efforts include donating millions to charities and providing bonuses for her tour crew, demonstrating her genuine commitment to making a positive impact beyond her music and image.

Taylor Swift's public image and feuds may be perceived as manipulated or contrived, but her philanthropic efforts demonstrate her genuine commitment to making a positive impact. From donating millions to various charities and causes to providing substantial bonuses for her tour crew, Swift's philanthropy shows that she goes beyond her music and image to make a difference in people's lives. Despite the controversy surrounding her personal life and carbon footprint, her philanthropic efforts help to redeem her image and highlight her compassionate side.

    • Taylor Swift's Impact on Economy and PoliticsTaylor Swift's tour boosts local economies and her political endorsements inspire voter registration. She's a trailblazer in country music for advocating for fair artist compensation.

Taylor Swift's influence extends beyond her music and tours, reaching into the economic and political realms. Her tour has the power to boost local economies, and she has used her platform to encourage voter registration and political activism. In 2018, over 160,000 people registered to vote following her endorsement of a democratic candidate. Swift's political influence is notable because she is an outlier in the country music industry, which is generally considered more republican leaning. Her advocacy, despite potential backlash, shows her commitment to using her power to make a difference. Additionally, Swift's new record deal with Universal included a condition that the label distribute proceeds from the sale of its Spotify shares to artists, demonstrating her legacy as a champion for fair artist compensation in the music industry.

    • Taylor Swift's Impact Beyond MusicSwift's advocacy for artists' rights and innovative business model could shape the music industry for years to come, impacting emerging artists and the industry's economic model.

Taylor Swift's influence on the music industry extends beyond her music. Her advocacy for artists' rights to their recordings and her innovative business model could shape the industry for years to come. Swift's impact is not limited to her music, but also includes her impact on emerging artists and the way the industry operates. Her legacy as a trailblazer for artists' rights and financial success is a significant one, and her influence on young artists is likely to continue. Swift's unique approach to her career and her advocacy for artists' rights make her a game-changer in the music industry. Her impact on the industry's economic model and her influence on emerging artists make her a figure to be reckoned with for decades to come. Cómo convertir una habilidad cotidiana en un negocio a tiempo completo, con Miguel Antúnez | Episodio 292

►► https://www.oscarfeito.com/clase ◄◄ ¡Hola! 86: Are You burnt-out or Bored-out? with Kea Meyers Duggan

86: Are You burnt-out or Bored-out? with Kea Meyers Duggan
What is your body telling you these days? It's highly likely that you're burnt-out at work. OR maybe, it's simply that you're bored-out. This week's episode dives deep into the signs, and remedies, for those of you feeling burnt-out at work. IT's an important episode, because we want you to see these signs well before Kea saw hers. Your health, family, and friends will thank you.  This week Erin sits down with Kea Meyers Duggan - a life/career coach, and a professional speaker - to discuss her life, her struggles and her successes, in an episode that everyone can relate to. Erin starts out by asking about young Kea. She dives into what her childhood was like, and how it shaped her into who she is today. Kea remembers watching the 1984 Olympics with her dad, and him telling her, "You can do whatever you put your mind to." She talks how she necessarily understand that statement fully at the time. But later it became a guiding light for her...a way to find determination to do whatever she wanted to do. Erin asks Kea why she went into marketing. Kea explains she almost chose to pursue Marine Biology, and decided to follow advertising and marketing instead. But as she carried forward in her career, she couldn't help but question if she'd made the right choice. Her father stepped back in and suggested she start her own company, because she's be good at it plus she's also bad at being told what to do.  Kea's first entrepreneurial venture was a dog walking and pet sitting business. However, KEa realized that human interaction was key to her happiness (and while dogs are cute, they don't make for great conversations.) She decided to go back to corporate America while she decided on her next move. She decided to start a coaching business, but working a 9-5 job while also trying to run a business on the side can easily build to an unstable point. One day, while sitting at her desk typing an email, she thought she was having a stroke. Luckily, instead, it was her body giving her a big wake-up call - a massive anxiety attack.  Erin asks Kea what steps she took to try and reverse the situation. Kea said the first thing she did was to simply talk to a friend and tell them what had happened. The second, was to take a step back and think about her next move, how to handle the situation, and what she really wanted to do moving forward. Erin moves on to ask how people cans et up boundaries for themselves. Kea says to first check-in with yourself. What has you feeling so burned out and uncomfortable? Then, picture your ideal situation. What would it look like if everything was how you wanted it to be? They discuss how to take a breath and carve some time out for yourself. In summary? Just do it. There is always something else to do, so you have to take a stand and take that time when you need it. They end by explaining how you discern between being burned out vs. being bored-out. Burnout manifests itself physically; insomnia, body ailments like migraines, GI issues. Intense cynicism is also a major sign of being burnt out at work. Bored-out usually manifests itself through signs like listlessness, inability to sit still, being easily distracted. And the only remedy? It's time for a change!     Follow Nicole on LinkedIn:   Follow Erin on LinkedIn:   If you like jammin' with us on the podcast, b sure to join us for more fun and inspiration!
