    Podcast Summary

    • Embrace positivity and be loud about itBeing positive and loud about it can help drown out negativity, lead to opportunities, and bring joy. Learn from older generations and do things that are enjoyable.

Focusing on positivity and being loud about it is crucial in today's world where negativity is prevalent. Gary Vee emphasizes the importance of being on the offense of positivity, even if it means putting yourself out there and facing criticism. He encourages us to learn from older generations who have lived through tough times and understand that nothing is perfect. Instead of staying quiet and clamming up, we should be loud and positive, as happy people are currently drowning in negativity. Additionally, doing things that are fun and enjoyable can lead to great opportunities and success, as we are more willing to work hard when we enjoy what we're doing. So, embrace positivity, be loud, and do what brings you joy.

    • Fun is a crucial motivator in achieving goalsMaintaining enjoyment and passion for the process is essential to put in the necessary effort and stay motivated through challenges in building brands or pursuing creative endeavors.

Having fun is a crucial motivator that drives us to put in the hard work required to achieve our goals. For DRock, his love for filmmaking keeps him going despite the challenges and competition in the industry. Similarly, for building brands, the enjoyment and passion for the process are essential to put in the necessary effort. The internet age has made it easier for anyone to enter these fields, but the fun and enjoyment are what set individuals apart and keep them going through the ups and downs. Even when things get tough, as long as there is macro-level enjoyment and fulfillment, the grind becomes worth it. As DRock puts it, "Fun's a great gateway. To fun is the precursor to a ridiculous amount of work, which then gets you there." It's essential to recognize that there will be tough days and even years, but maintaining a long-term perspective and staying true to the enjoyment of the process can lead to success.

    • Believe in abundance and focus on your own journeyFocus on personal happiness and success, let go of negative thoughts, and remember that there's enough success for everyone

There's an abundance of opportunities, success, happiness, and wealth for everyone. It's a common mentality to believe that someone else's success comes at our expense, but this is a losing attitude. Instead, we should focus on our own happiness and success by doing what we love. Patience and positivity are key to achieving our goals. Watching others succeed is a source of joy, not competition. There's enough success to go around, and it's important to remember that. So, let go of negative thoughts and focus on your own journey towards happiness and success. Remember, positivity always wins.

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

There are so many people racing to earn more money than they can even spend even if they have to sacrifice their happiness and livelihood to do so. The really disturbing part about this is that most of these people only want the money so they can be flashy and show off their overly expensive cars (that they don't even want) and other dumb things to other people. Happiness needs to be the Northstar that we strive towards. If we aren't aiming to be happy, then is it really worth having more money than you can spend and more cars than you can drive? —

Some of the main questions and points that I cover in this episode are:

    • Are you motivated by a paycheck or opportunity to learn and grow? What motivates new employees when opportunities present themselves, and how can leaders determine if an employee is there to grow with a business, or just there for a easy ride and paycheck?
    • What should a leader or manager pay attention to during an interview with a potential candidate? It is only which answers that candidate provides that matter or there's more things to keep in mind and pay attention to? What about dress code, is that important?
    • What are some critical steps that leaders and manager must pay attention to and follow in new talent discovery and development? Why some people create and live in false reality when being yourself is soo much easier and comfortable?
    • If you are not ready to invest time and energy into your own development, no one can help you until you are ready to invest into yourself
    • Which are the characteristics of an employee who is committed to their personal and professional development, learning and growth, and how can leaders unlock their potential?
    • Developing a detailed plan for growth and goal-setting is a must in employee development. What are responsibilities of a leader and an employee?

Episode 50 - How to become more assertive - Recognize and Recommend Approach

    Hi everyone,

My name is Alex E Kheyson, and I want to welcome you to the Heart & Mind of a Leader show. I am happy to have you here. After listening to this episode please share your feedback about this topic and episode in general in the comments below. I really appreciate your support.

Some of the main questions and points that I cover in this episode are:

    • Can anyone become more assertive when the situation calls for it? What may be stopping us to express our opinions openly when necessary, is that fear of being misunderstood or too direct?
    • Why do we continue to hide our assertive personality inside of us, even when we know that we have something to say and are confident that we are absolutely right?
    • What do we fail to recognize when we are in the middle of presentation of ideas and opinions on the subject at hand, even though it is such an easy and hard thing to remember?
    • What do we tend to focus on more in the middle of the constructive argument when we are not assertive, what do we think and care the most about? Are we being consumed by others' thoughts and opinions that we forget about our own?
    • 'It's not what you say but how you say it' - recommend vs. tell approach in problem solving and solution finding. Collaboration is one of the critical parts of any productive negotiation
