    About this Episode

In today's episode, Glenn and I had the delightful opportunity to hang out with spiritual coach, founder of Awaken and Rise Coaching, fellow ministerial classmate, and all ‘round lovely, joyful, and fun-loving soul, Nicolle Star.

Nicolle’s response to our question was simple: “I am Divine. I am Spirit, God. I am all of it.” She offered that we are all playing in this game of life as one.

We talked about seriousness vs. laughter, playfulness, and fun of being spiritual. We talked about revealing, not seeking for, who we truly are. We talked, connection, responsibility, ministry, integrity, and values. We talked judgement, knowing truth, intention, and awareness.

Nicolle also reminded us how much we can learn from kids; how boredom is an amazing opportunity to embrace the creativity we are; that there is no limit to the possibilities of creativity.

She also talked about her spiritual studies so far, with Dr. Erin Haskell and now Dr. James Mellon. About online vs. in-person community and intentionality. About creating something for herself.

Alan Watts, “Why do we attend church?,” the temple within, the Centre of Love, experiencing vs. being taught, and conscious conversations. This and so much more...

Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! Today’s “prize” was, “Becoming” a poem from “Elemental Magic: Poetic Chapters of Wild Self Love” by Sara Rogers.

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #46) - Angela Strank

In today's episode, Glenn and I had the enriching opportunity to spend some time with transformation expert, intuitive healer, author, and speaker Angela Strank.

From her expression of graciousness for the land acknowledgement offered by Glenn, Angela emphasized what vital roles the land and its energy play in her life.

In answering our big, juicy question, she responded, “How do you answer that?! There are so many layers.”

Angela talked about small vs. big picture and about being “all of it.” She spoke of the magic and energy of richness, expansion and healing, and endless potential for expansion. She talked feelings, connectedness, and aliveness.

And things really got going when I asked Angela about horses. She talked about them being the love of her life. Her relationship with her horse, Elvis. Why the relationship between rider and horse is such a profound one, and how that relationship is a brilliant metaphor for surrender and trust.

We talked presence, choices, chakras, isolation, and energy, energy, energy. This and so much more...

Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! Today’s “prize” was an excerpt from “Skin” from “What Comes From Spirit” by Richard Wagamese.

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #45) - Amy Steinberg

Warning - this episode contains explicit language.

In today's episode, Glenn and I had the amazing opportunity to hang out with soulful, spiritual, dynamic, hilarious, singer/songwriter and spiritual powerhouse Amy Steinberg.

Beginning with gratitude, Amy told us that she believes she’s a dynamic expression of the most High Love, and that she lives in and creates a kaleidoscopic world of art, music, family, travel, and life.

Amy talked about falling in love with her mom, about happiness as her ambition, and how her intention is to get clear on what she really wants.

We talked about creativity, and not having to wait for or get anywhere to experience our most amazing life. We talked ministerial studies, gave some shout-outs to our classmates and teacher Dr. James Mellon, about success, and beauty and discord. Rose-coloured glasses, empathy, spiritual bypass, Maria Nemeth, and the lineage of Science of Mind are just a few of the topics that bubbled up during our lively, engaging, conversation. This and so much more. . .

Amy also treated us to two of her original tunes: “Love’s Life” and “One Step.”

Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! Today’s “prize” was from “Gratitude” from "Love Without Conditions: Reflections of the Christ Mind" by Paul Ferrini.

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #42) - Frances Litman

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #42) - Frances Litman
In today's episode, Glenn and I had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with creative problem solver, award-winning multi-media artist and photographer, nature champion, sustainability advocate, self-professed possibilitist, and TEDx speaker, Frances Litman. Frances' opening response of, "I ask myself that all the time" opened the door to an engaging, passionate conversation on positivity, consciousness, the power of nature, asking ourselves what we want, and becoming aware that we are always creating our future in the present moment. Frances talked about her teen years working at a local newspaper, and the transition from typewriters, newswire, and film to computers, internet, and digitization. Truth seeking, asking questions, interconnectivity, critical thinking, the creative process, perception, David Suzuki, looking through lenses, always choosing, the virtual life of today's youth, the empowerment of being in nature, solutions, narrative, First Nations wisdom, and the power of prayer and meditation are just some of the topics that bubbled up during our time together. "Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #41) - Donna Palmer

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #41) - Donna Palmer
In this episode, Glenn and I had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with avid learner, passionate educator, questioner, energy enthusiast, particle and/or wave of God, and new friend, Donna Palmer. From the get go, Donna shared how curiosity, observing, searching, and asking questions is such a fulfilling way to approach life. We talked interconnectedness, and how life and ageing can often lead to labels, making things solid, and leave little from for questioning. We talked Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton, Henry Nelson Weiman, evolution, polarization, and how important it is to discover things for yourself rather than depend on the media or others to tell you "like it is." Donna shared her thoughts about education and how what once worked no longer does. We discussed the concept of "fitting into little boxes," about people serving the organization rather than the organization serving the people, external drivers, limited resources, and "reserv(ing) the right to improve upon the best" we knew. Covid as a change agent, the evolution of news, fact vs. opinion, responsibility and choice, tuning into the vibration of the earth, trusting ourselves, and "putting it into a question" are just some of the topics that bubbled up during our time together. This and so much more. . . ! Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! A new episode posted at least twice a month! "Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #40) - Rev. Patricia Zogar

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #40) - Rev. Patricia Zogar
Warning! This episode contains explicit language. In this episode, Glenn and I had the delightful opportunity to spend some time in conversation with the thoughtful, funny, insightful, one-time nurse, actor, aboriginal ally, addict supporter, actor, and ordained minister - among other things - Rev. Patricia Zogar. Rev. Patricia's very candid response of, "I don't have a clue" opened the door to a wonderful, contemplative, inspirational, and often humorous conversation about Consciousness, and how, in Rev. Patricia's mind, we are a blend of the memories of what we've done, the attention focused on "right now," and the aspirations for the future. She told us about her initial resistance to Christianity and the idea that people need to be saved from something (by Jesus); about not apologizing for who you are; and, about balancing personal vs. collective reality. We talked about EST/Landmark, affirmative prayer, how saying "thank you" turns God into a person, and how vital it is for inclusivity to be demonstrated rather than just talked about. We talked Jesus, Buddha, and paganism, and how important it is to see and connect with the beauty of nature. Rev. Patricia talked about how everything and nothing is important, and that, even after decades of being on her spiritual journey, she continues to go through dark nights of the soul. Accountability, discomfort, noticing, "All is well," sense of purpose, waiting to die, cancer, generational trauma, attention vs. intention, the mind/body connection, Christian Science vs. New Thought - these are just some of the topics that bubbled up during our time together. This and so much more. . . ! Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! A new episode posted at least twice a month! "Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #38) - Danielle Lebeau Petersen

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #38) - Danielle Lebeau Petersen
In this episode, Glenn and I had the absolutely lovely opportunity to spend some time with singer/songwriter, guitarist, deep thinker, Spice Girls fan, contemplatively curious thinker, and gem of a friend, Danielle Lebeau Petersen! Danielle told us from the start what a big, beautiful question she thinks "Who do you think you are?" is. Feeling lucky to be loved, she spoke of her love of lyric and her brain being peppered with lyric all the time. We talked music, songwriting, the vast pool of Consciousness that is forever flowing through us all, living in harmony, awareness, and grace. Danielle shared why she loves singing covers so much, speaking to the unifying power of connection that is sparked when singing someone's favourite song. We also talked about how covers can introduce us to another artist's music, that every version has something to offer, and how covers can mark the time in which they were released. She also took us on a bit of a history lesson, speaking to the dissemination of music over the ages and through different mediums. Somewhere in the midst of all that, Danielle treated us to her original tune, "Falling Rain." This, and so much more. . . ! Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! "Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #37) - Stacey Burgess
In this episode, Glenn and I had the delightful opportunity to catch up with award-winning chocolatier, founder and creative genius behind "Live on Chocolate", art school graduate, skincare developer, and good friend, Stacey Burgess. Curious maker, long-time vegan, entrepreneur, and champion of organic, fairly-traded ingredients, Stacey talked about how losing herself in her company has allowed her to discover who she is - beyond her work. We talked about awareness, the stairways above and below the pigeon-holed ideas we can often have of each other, stress, resilience, perseverance, and commitment and care that comes from within. Lesia and Stacey reminisced about their time spent at Lesia's former bakery, LPK's Culinary Groove, sharing their commitment to sustainability, and the imagination and creativity that comes out in what we do. Stacey also talked about her recent foray into skincare. She shared how much she loves and values blending various aromas and ingredients, bringing them together in ways that support people in overcoming shame and judgement about themselves because of how they see their skin, experiencing that shame and judgement fade away as their skin becomes more vibrant, allowing them to really see themselves, perhaps for the first time. We also talked inspiration, joy, perfume, anti-oxidants, beauty, love, and of course. . . chocolate! This, and so much more. . . ! Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! "Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #36) - Linda Mackie
In this episode, Glenn and I had the wonderful opportunity to finally have a conversation with uber talented, award-winning photographer, make-up artist, mentor, entrepreneur, podcaster, and friend, Linda Mackie! Linda responded to our question of the hour by telling us how terrified she'd actually been to come on our show. By the end of this episode, however, she was finally feeling grounded and convicted in who she is and what she does. We talked about infinite possibilities; how she's a woman on her journey of life, self-discovery, expression, acceptance, and how she feels she's here to understand and be understood. Linda talked about wanting to be happy, making a difference, becoming, and wanting to be seen and heard. We also talked about criticism, stepping into your essence, being in our core joy, and perspective. We also touched on the significance of courage and vulnerability, and how important it is to follow your creative heart. Linda reminded us that we never know who we're going to reach or touch; that it's ours to inspire and feel inspired; and, that "nothing matters but sitting down everyday and trying." "Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #35, Live, unedited) - Emily Rodgers

"Who do you Think you Are?" (episode #35, Live, unedited) - Emily Rodgers
29jan22 - Inspired and activated by the Truckers Freedom Convoy to Ottawa, the incredibly enlightening interview with Jordan Peterson and the Hon. Brian Peckford, along with the palpable enthusiasm and unifying voice sweeping the nation, Glenn and I invited back one of our favourite guests for our very first live streamed podcast so we could talk about the topic of the day - freedom! It was so fun to welcome back psychology and philosophy student, writer, editor, and critical thinker extraordinaire, Emily Rodgers. And, much to our collective joy, our conversation was rich, engaging, and full of ideas and questions as we got caught up on how each of us was feeling about the ongoing Covid response in our country and the province of British Columbia, how we all felt so ignited by the Peterson Peckford interview, and what the Truckers Freedom Convoy represented for hundreds of thousands of Canadians who were finally starting to feel heard and that they were not alone. Emily began by saying how grateful she felt to be, "no longer screaming into the void," and how she felt a sense of relief, pride, and connection she hadn't felt as a Canadian in a long, long time. We talked freedom, unity, peace, charity, and support. We talked about how there was something inherently Canadian about truckers protesting peacefully (even having a good time while doing so) in their big 18-wheelers, with steam and exhaust hissing from valves and pipes; about flags on hockey sticks waving, and warm breath steaming up the cold winter air; and coming together across this nation of ours as one, unified voice. Sticks and carrots, lack of opposition and debate, "who governs me?", and resilience were just some of the aspects of freedom that bubbled up during our time together. Glenn also gave a shout out to journalist and author of "The Field" and "The Power of Eight", Lynne McTaggart for her blog post, "Keep on Truckin' Together" in which she talks about the profound power of intention. This, and so much more...! For links to referenced posts, please scroll down below. There was no super fun Rapid Fire Question Round this time, but Glenn did offer us all a prize regarding courage and freedom - an excerpt from Jordan Peterson's book, "Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life!"
