    Podcast Summary

    • Leadership revealed in challenging timesEffective leaders show character during hardships, emotional intelligence is vital for success, and self-awareness, resilience, and a practical optimistic outlook are essential qualities.

Effective leadership is most evident during challenging times. A true leader's character is revealed when things go wrong, not when everything is going smoothly. Attention is a valuable asset, and some people are naturally optimistic and emotionally intelligent due to good fortune or hard work. Emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to connect with others, is crucial for success in business and life. The speaker, who has had a challenging upbringing and a long history of managing people, emphasizes the importance of being content and happy, regardless of financial success. He believes that self-awareness, thick skin, and a practical optimistic outlook are essential qualities for entrepreneurs and businesspeople.

    • Embracing Failures and Personal Growth in EntrepreneurshipFocus on personal growth and self-fulfillment, not just monetary success. Embrace failures as opportunities to learn and improve.

Entrepreneurship is about the process, not just the end goal of money and material possessions. The speaker, who is an entrepreneur himself, emphasizes the importance of embracing failures and focusing on personal growth. He expresses concern that some people may be entering entrepreneurship solely for the perceived glamour and status, and encourages doing things for oneself and one's family, rather than for external validation. He also criticizes the over-capitalization of content and the negative impact it can have on people's self-worth. Ultimately, the speaker believes that true entrepreneurs are those who are willing to take risks and fail, and that this mindset leads to greater happiness and fulfillment.

    • Embrace personal growth and happiness, not others' opinionsFocus on personal passions and progress, rather than trying to impress or prove oneself to others, and practice empathy towards others' achievements.

Focusing too much on other people's opinions and trying to prove ourselves to them can hinder our personal growth and happiness. The speaker shares their personal experience of growing up in an immigrant family where material possessions were not prioritized, and they learned at a young age that money and success do not equate to true happiness. They encourage embracing failures and focusing on personal passions, rather than trying to impress others. The speaker also acknowledges the human tendency to be jealous and hurt, but emphasizes the importance of empathy and understanding towards others, regardless of their backgrounds or achievements. Ultimately, the speaker encourages living a fulfilled life, rooted in happiness and peace, and finding joy in the progress and success of others.

    • The importance of practicing gratitude and candor dailyFocusing on gratitude and candor helps maintain a positive perspective, build stronger relationships, and overcome adversity

Practicing gratitude every day is essential for maintaining a positive perspective and avoiding negative emotions like envy and hatred towards others. The speaker emphasizes the importance of being grateful for the remarkable lives we lead, despite the challenges we face, and recognizes the impact of growing up with a lack of candor. He encourages everyone to reflect on their own experiences of hardship and the ways in which they have overcome adversity. By focusing on gratitude and candor, we can live our lives with a default optimistic lens and build stronger relationships with those around us. Despite the difficulties and setbacks we may encounter, the speaker encourages us to put in the work to improve ourselves and develop the skills and mindset necessary for success.

    • Emphasizing Personal Growth and Self-Compassion for Effective LeadershipFocus on gratitude, mental health, and accountability. Control what you can, avoid blaming external factors, show empathy and compassion towards others, and understand that everyone faces unique challenges.

Personal growth and self-compassion are crucial for effective leadership. The speaker emphasizes the importance of working on gratitude, mental health, and accountability, regardless of one's circumstances. He challenges the audience to focus on what they can control and avoid blaming external factors. Furthermore, the speaker encourages empathy and compassion towards others, emphasizing that everyone faces unique challenges. He also addresses the issue of privilege, urging the audience to focus on commonalities rather than differences. In essence, the speaker encourages a mindset of resilience, self-improvement, and understanding towards oneself and others. This approach will not only benefit individuals but also make them better leaders.

    • The power of perception shapes our experiencesChoosing positivity over negativity, compassion over fear, and engaging in meaningful conversations can lead to better experiences and overall well-being.

The way we perceive the world and ourselves shapes our experiences. If we choose to see the world negatively, we will have negative experiences. Conversely, if we choose to see the world positively, we will have positive experiences. The speaker emphasized the importance of compassion and love as long-term motivators, rather than fear and negativity. He also shared his personal story of falling in love with the New York Jets as a young immigrant and how that experience shaped his perspective. The speaker encouraged the audience to embrace the humble side of their lives and engage in meaningful conversations, even with those who hold different viewpoints. Ultimately, the way we choose to see the world is a personal decision, and it can have a profound impact on our happiness and overall well-being.

    • The power of connection and positivityStaying true to oneself, cherishing connections, and spreading positivity can lead to great achievements

The power of connection and the importance of being true to oneself can lead to great achievements. The speaker, GaryVee, shared a story from his childhood about how he bonded with a group of kids over their shared love for the New York Jets. Despite not being able to afford a jersey, his mother made him one, which became his most cherished possession. This experience instilled in him a dream to one day own the New York Jets and build a stadium to honor his mother. The story highlights the significance of positivity and the importance of sharing it with others. The speaker emphasized that happy people should be louder and more vocal in spreading positivity, as opposed to keeping it to themselves. Overall, the story underscores the importance of staying true to oneself, the power of connection, and the impact of positivity.

    • The Power of Mindset and Taking Action - Lessons from Gary Vaynerchuk and Pete CarrollGary Vaynerchuk and Pete Carroll, despite their different backgrounds, share a common belief in the power of having a strong mindset and taking action towards one's goals.

Both Gary Vaynerchuk and Pete Carroll, despite their different backgrounds in entrepreneurship and football coaching, share a common belief in the power of mindset and taking action. Gary's unexpected visit to a class in 2015 left a lasting impression with his passionate and challenging talk on entrepreneurship. Later, Gary and Pete shared inspiring stories from their past, with Gary revealing how he had once rooted for Pete's promotion during his time as the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets. The two men's shared values and experiences underscored the importance of having a strong mindset and taking action towards one's goals. Gary emphasized this message during his talk, encouraging the audience to act on the insights they gained and not just listen passively. Overall, the conversation between Gary and Pete highlighted the power of having a growth mindset and taking bold steps towards one's aspirations.

    • Consistent practice is key to successMastering any skill requires dedication, hard work, and consistent practice. There's no shortcut to success, it's all about putting in the effort day in and day out.

That the key to success, as emphasized by Gary Vaynerchuk, lies in consistent practice. Gary Vee's analogy of basketball illustrates this perfectly. Just like how one cannot become a basketball superstar overnight, mastering any skill requires dedication, hard work, and consistent practice. It's important to remember that there's no shortcut to success, and it's all about putting in the effort day in and day out. So, whether you're aiming to build a successful business, learn a new skill, or improve yourself in any way, remember that it's only about practice. Keep pushing forward, stay focused, and never give up. As Gary Vaynerchuk would say, "Love you."

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

There are so many people racing to earn more money than they can even spend even if they have to sacrifice their happiness and livelihood to do so. The really disturbing part about this is that most of these people only want the money so they can be flashy and show off their overly expensive cars (that they don't even want) and other dumb things to other people. Happiness needs to be the Northstar that we strive towards. If we aren't aiming to be happy, then is it really worth having more money than you can spend and more cars than you can drive? —

How to Live a Turned On Life w/ Dr. Justin Moseley + David Norrie

How to Live a Turned On Life w/ Dr. Justin Moseley + David Norrie

Today Dr. Justin Moseley is talking with David Norrie on How to Live a Turned On Life.  This interview is from “The Power of Mindset Summit” that Dr. Justin hosted.

David Norrie is a 25 year veteran journalist with experience in magazine, newspaper, television and social media. He is a best selling author and co-host of the Turned On Podcast.

My Top Takeaways From The Episode:

    • David is passionate about helping people live a "turned on life," one defined as being passionate and finding joy in life.

    • One key characteristic of living a turned on life is being present, both with family and in one's work.

    • To live a more "turned on" life people must ask themselves what brings them alive and find ways to implement that passion into their daily lives and work.

    • People should avoid turning to money or material things as emotional fixes for life's challenges as these are fleeting solutions.

    • As people get older they can take advantage of experience to leave behind things that no longer serve them, allowing them to find more fulfilling occupations.

    • Dr. Justin Moseley discussed with a guest the importance of taking risks to reach the next level of success, but also trusting in God's plan.

    • Be your own best cheerleader.  Nobody will want your business to succeed more than you do.

    • Take a moment at the end of the day to celebrate your accomplishments, both big and small.

    • In order to start living a turned on life, one must take an honest assessment of where they are in life, recognize one’s gifts and talents, and find the momentum needed to make a change.

    • David reminds people to stay resilient during difficult times, keep faith in God and surround themselves with like-minded individuals.

2644 Putting the Puzzle Pieces Together
Unlocking your health mystery takes time and persistence. However, you can solve the puzzle and reset your health by putting the puzzle pieces together. One step at a time leads to miles of greatness! ~ Kristianne Wargo Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at http://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT. http://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT But unfortunately, society has trained us that if we can take away your symptoms, why can't you still live however you desire? No restrictions. No exercise. Pure joy. Or is it truly pure joy? I have been battling a couple of different viruses since the beginning of the new year. Usually, I'm pretty healthy, not getting sick. But this season has not faired in my favor.  So it got me thinking even more. Since going through perimenopause and now on the other side, plus having gut issues my entire life, maybe I really need to take a hard look at what my body needs.  I know I'm not the average person which diets or fitness regimens are created for. A 1200-1500 calorie day does not work for me at all. And please do not flood my inbox as to what I might be missing. I've done the research and am currently studying real-time as to how my body responds and reacts to food, movement, vitamins, supplements, and so forth. Like any good detective, you've gotta put the puzzle pieces together to understand the whole picture. The K.I.S.S. ~ Put the puzzle pieces together! If you are struggling with your health, I want to encourage you not to give up. You can figure out what is happening and what needs to change. One thing I've been researching is the Paleo Diet. This diet is a whole-foods diet that includes only the most nutritionally dense and sustainable foods. (The Paleo Approach, https://ThePaleoMom.com, Pg. 9) Now, you have heard me say that the food all of us should be eating follows one rule: If God made it, I can eat it. But that's in it's natural state.  For example, God did not make bread. He made grains. So how those grains are prepared and eaten does affect the nutrient density of the food along with how it is absorbed within a person's body. If you are struggling with your health or weight, this might be a good alternative for you to try. As I said, I am taking you on my health journey in discovering all my quirks and likenesses.  You get to decide what you would like to try. This by no means substitutes for personal medical advice.
    - What are you eating that is real? This is the most natural state of the foods you eat.
    - What are you eating that is processed? If it's not one ingredient, it is processed.
    - How can you integrate more nutrient-dense foods?
One thing I want to caution you on. You do not have to define how you eat to anyone.  I have been asked several times, "What program are you doing?" My answer (and it should be yours, too) -- I'm eating what my body requires.  Because you might be a blend of Keto and Paleo. And there is nothing wrong with that. Don't fall into the trap that you must have a definitive cookie-cutter answer.  Your body is uniquely made. So treat it with the respect it deserves by putting together all the puzzle pieces. Now, I am currently working in the preparation stage gearing up to change my body's nutritional menu. I am taking detailed notes as to how my body responds to the "junk food". Then, I'll be able to see exactly how good food affects my body. It's going to be a long process, but I know we'll both learn so many things to benefit us in the long-run.  Hope you're ready to construct your puzzle. "Train for life. 2941 More of We

Life can get in the way of loving those closest to us, especially our spouses. So instead of hiding in our busyness and floundering more in someone else's highlight reel, make a commitment to more of we.

How much time do you spend with your spouse?

And would you say that you spend less time together now than when you got married?

Most of us have to really stop and think when we see our sweethearts. And as for the time, what time is it again?

The number one relationship, if you're married, is your spouse.

But very quickly, we find other ways to occupy our time, distract our attention, and lead us down a rabbit hole in our own homes.

It just does not seem fair to anyone!

Yet you live it every day. You get up and do YOUR thing and forget that there's someONE in your life. You take care of the children, because you have to. But the rest is left to fend for themselves.

How can any marriage be awesome if that's a typical every day?

What if you would make time for each other?

What if there was more of we?

The K.I.S.S. ~ More of WE!

My goal here is to get you thinking about how you spend TIME with your spouse.

Are you showing up with your best self, or is your spouse getting the leftovers?

"Leftovers are great for food, not so much for love!" ~ Kristianne Wargo

You get out what you put into your marriage. So why not show up with enthusiasm? Why not give more when you don't receive? Why not have compassion during challenges in life? Why not be together more than you are apart?

It's hard to build a strong foundation in marriage if you're not together. Logistics do matter.

I want to encourage you to analyze your time with your spouse.

    1. How much time do you spend together in bed?
    2. How much time do you spend as a couple awake and interacting?
    3. How much time do you spend talking about life, not just kids and career?

Then from there, you'll be able to see what is happening regarding time.

    Is time on your side?

Assuming that you fall into "most of us," then you can make some tweaks to how you hang out together. The way you spend your time together matters!

QUESTION: What can you do differently to add time to love?

"Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"
