020 - Cindy : My Lifetime Struggle with Compulsive Eating

020 - Cindy : My Lifetime Struggle with Compulsive Eating

Cindy's addiction started at an early age enjoying the comfort of Southern Food and home-cooking.  An extra cookie given by Mom not only provided the comforted she needed, it became the basis of the lifetime struggle with compulsive eating.

Now Cindy is in recovery and works hard to eat well and help others do the same as an active sponsor to others living with the same struggle.

This is a unique and eye-opening episode that will certainly leave you with a different opinion of our brothers and sisters addicted to food.  You will also learn that the fight against addiction is the same even if it's not alcohol or drugs.

016 - Jesse : My struggle with alcohol, cocaine, compulsive eating, and anxiety

016 - Jesse : My struggle with alcohol, cocaine, compulsive eating, and anxiety

Jesse started his path to addiction early.  It was where he felt most comfortable in the pain of not being included.  His addiction quickly turned into a life-long struggle.  He was dealing cocaine and living the party life.  He turned up the volume on his drinking to ladder down from the blow.  His drinking turned uglier by the day.  He began filling the pain with compulsive eating, and other addictions.  He struggles staying sober like we all do, but has turned his life around and finds the sunshine in the service of others.  Jesse's story is a great one filled with the reality of the pain we all go through in addiction and recovery.

009 - Anger Issues in Sobriety

009 - Anger Issues in Sobriety

Flash anger happens to the best of us in our journey to sobriety.  I found myself getting angry and losing my temper over ridiculous things like a gum wrapper on the floor, my kids high-pitched screech, anything small.

My anger issues started to bubble over and become uncontrollable.  It took about 2-weeks to get to a bad place where things started to get heavy again.  It freaked me out because I felt myself being drawn to the dark side.

I reached out on Twitter for help  It's the little things that matter and proves once again there are loving people willing to help.  Thank you @sleepysausage.  It means a lot to me that you would take time out of your day to help me.  Our few Tweets gave me what I needed to turn things around.

Tyson shares some insight around the reasons anger issues bubble up, why we lose control and some methods to overcome anger and get back to neutral.
