Sometimes we are single for a season.  Sometimes we are called to be single for the rest of our lives here on earth.  Either way, God sees us and knows us and wants to walk along side of us as journey as a single person.  As a church we want to be the family of God who grows as people who can encourage one another in whatever relationship season we are in.

Our lives will improve as our relationships improve.  Sometimes our relationships seem unfixable.  Sometimes it feels better to cut people off or avoid people.  However, Jesus wants us to have healthy relationships.

Today we celebrate mothers! They have done so much for us and continue to love and serve their children. The love and devotion of a mother is an incredible miracle. It is a passion and a calling as they selflessly care for their children.

Where does this love come from? Today as Pastor Devin honors moms everywhere, he will turn our attention to where that love really comes from.  It comes from God. It is birthed in their hearts from God. As we honor moms, let us be amazed again at the God who is the author of life, and the source of a mother’s love.

There are a lot of mindsets and ideologies within our American culture today.  One popular one is, “Do whatever makes you feel happy.” It seems that whenever someone says, ‘this makes me happy’, that is reason alone for their choice. But what does Jesus say? Does Jesus want us to be happy? How do we find the balance between happiness, and walking in holiness?

Today Pastor Devin shares that Jesus never said, “do what makes you feel happy.” Instead, he has called us to walk in obedience with God’s word. But does that mean Jesus calls us to a miserable life of suffering? Absolutely not!  Join us today as we look at the tension between obedience and joy.

As we continue in our current series, we are reminded that Jesus never said "If you follow me, your life will be easy."  That can be a tough truth to hear, but we need this truth so that we can remember to give our cares to the One who holds it all.

Pastor Joe encourages us that while there will be pain and suffering in this world, we can take heart because Jesus Christ has overcome the world! That we can find rest for our souls in the arms of our Savior. We don't ever have to go through the hard stuff alone.

There are a lot of the sayings of Jesus that get thrown around in our culture today.  Many times, there are things we think Jesus said, but he never actually said them. It’s also powerful to look at some of the situations Jesus was in, and realize he had an opportunity to say certain things, but he didn’t.

Today Pastor Devin shares that Jesus never said, “you don’t need to forgive them.”  Many of us wish that Jesus would give us that pass, those of us who have been hurt, offended, even abused.  The thought of forgiving someone seems unrealistic.  But Jesus never gave us that pass, He commands us to forgive always.  Why?  Join us today and find out.

Jesus never said, “Give up because it’s over”. There are countless stories where people lost hope around Jesus. When you are planning a long trip to reach a destination, usually there are going to be a couple stops along the way.  However, we must stay focused on the destination, and not get distracted by those stops.

Today Pastor Devin finishes the teaching series on 2 Peter. As we look at some of the final warnings from Peter to the early church, he warns against the hold sin can have on a believer’s life. We must be aware of the people around us who try to lure us into a lifestyle of sin.

WARNING: Listening to this message might cause you to love God more. 

Did I get your attention?  It seems all throughout our culture there are warnings on everything.  So much that we stop paying attention to them.  However, we cannot miss the warnings that will affect our life.

Today as we are in week five of our series “END GAME”, we look at the warnings that Peter gave to the early church.  They were experiencing revival, miracles, and many coming to know Jesus.  They were also experiencing persecution and suffering.  In the midst of all that, just like we have signs on our roads to help us to know what is up ahead, we have warnings from God we must listen to.

“Honestly officer, I didn’t see the sign.”  Did you ever say that when you have gotten pulled over by a police officer?  Many have.  And some people are honest when they say it.  They just didn’t see the sign.  Signs are all around us.  We have so many signs, we start to ignore them or overlook them. 

As we are studying through 2 Peter, he gives us a warning of the End Game that is coming.  But how do we know we can trust Jesus’ words?  Today we look at the signs that are along the path that warn us, give us direction, and confirm that we are going the right direction.

The Bible is God’s story on His rescue plan for all men and women through the grace and mercy of His son, Jesus.  As we read His word, we see God’s love, His power, and His unchanging compassion for people. The more we see it, the more we are in awe of who He is! The more we are excited for Jesus to return and the more we are excited for the promise of eternal life.

But should we stop there?  How are we called to live?  Today Pastor Devin guides us through the first chapter of 2 Peter.  It is filled with a picture of all God has done for us.  But it is also filled with encouragement and a reminder for how believers in Christ are called to live daily.

Our culture is saturated by promises offered.  Some are used for marketing, some are incorporated in our jobs and work, some are in the form of a legal document, and others are shared among friends and loved ones.

No one plays a game or competes in a sport without knowing how the game ends or how to win.  No one enjoys working without knowing ahead of time what the end goal is.  Yet many of us live life refusing to think about how things will end.

Our worry is actually a sin against God because it shows that we don't fully trust in His Power and in His promises for us.

We have a lot of thoughts that compete for space in our brains.  We can fill our minds with so many different images, ideas, feelings, ideologies, and opinions.  It’s hard to know what is truth, and what is false.  Just like wiring can get “crossed” and send the wrong signal, our brains can get “crossed” and we think wrong thoughts.  Our brains need rewiring!
