Choosing Happiness Over Belongings: Yin Yoga, Meditation, Therapy, and Mental Health.
In the spirit of authenticity...and in saying what I'm about to say, I run the risk of you not listening to this episode, but please keep reading. In hindsight, I wish I had dug in deeper to Alexandra's story. I think she was vulnerable and shared part of her story and that we just scratched the surface of it in our conversation. After every episode, I always try to find ways of identifying better questions I could have asked. I think what we talk about is still valuable! We didn't just babble about nothing. There's some truth in here. I just wish I was able to slow down enough to listen better and see windows of opportunity to dig deeper. I think you're going to enjoy our conversation and in all likelihood, I'm just being too hard on myself (anxiety man here). Thank you so much for listening and I hope these conversations help!

Rethinking Masculinity, Sex & Gender: We're All The Same w/ Dr. Ward

A History of Hate: How Racism Is Still Alive and How Love Is The Answer - With Guy Flagg
Not that it really needs to be said but in an effort to communicate clearly and to give no room for assumptions...supporting Black Lives Matter doesn't mean you have to hate cops. Making the assumption that all cops are bad is no different than assuming all Black people are criminals - both are wrong. Each person should be accountable for their own actions and not actions of a group. I think Guy would agree that we all need to love and respect one another and supporting Black Lives Matter doesn't mean you don't support anyone else.
Much love,
Nick
What's On My Mind (01) - It's Time To Face Reality Everyone.
Admitting that racism exists and that white privilege exists doesn't mean that white people have never experienced pain, loss, or suffering. It means that we (white people) haven't typically experienced pain, loss, or suffering because we are white. In this lies the privilege. Our whiteness doesn't bring us pain...it usually brings us benefit of the doubt and success.
Living With An Unwell Parent, Healing From Sexual Abuse, & Finding Her Voice Through Yoga - Christine Graeber
First off - I have to thank Christine for being so vulnerable and sharing her story. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to deal with, process, and share what she has been through. It's our hope that by sharing this difficult conversation, it will empower those who have had similar experiences and bring awareness to those who have not. There will be moments where we make light of certain situations - this isn't to say that either of us don't take this seriously. Sometimes you have to find the humor in the chaos to keep afloat. By no means do we think that schizophrenia or any other mental illness is funny. As someone who has Generalized Anxiety Disorder / Panic Attacks, I can tell you first hand how unfunny it is. But again, humor is often times the best medicine and it's how I choose to process through things. I hope our conversation inspires you to dialogue with the people in your life and to ask the hard questions.
With love,

The Story We Tell Ourselves, Marriage, Mental Health, & Quitting Religion - Jalen Reyes
For clarities sake, Jalen and I wanted to be clear that we hold nothing against those who are religious or consider themselves Christians. Your experience might not be our experience. Although we may not agree on who is really in charge upstairs, I hope we can all agree that the most important thing we can agree on is how we should treat people. None of what we discuss is to create controversy or to agitate others. It is simply to share our perspective and experience with you. With that being said, I hope you enjoy this absolutely fantastic episode of The Mostly Good Podcast.
Weird Childhood Thoughts, Freelance Life, Aging, & Kindness - Lauren Jones
If you don't like learning about people and want to dive right into the meat (or if you're vegan, tofu) - feel free to skip ahead to around 15 minutes. You do you boo - although I would suggest you listen to the whole thing so you can better connect with Lauren and go with us on this journey of a conversation.
