    Unfiltered: Raw Real Honest

We are unashamed, unafraid and ready to speak truth in love into your life. We are two women from different backgrounds with different life stories who have come together with one goal: to empower, encourage, strengthen, inspire and transform the lives of women and girls. We will be tackling subjects on our podcast that are bold, daring and essential to bring out into the open to have honest conversations about. There have been too many times in our lives that we have been forced into silence, the time has come to break free and let our voices be heard. We want to grow a community of women who desire authentic relationships where they are free to discover their true selves in a safe, loving environment.

Continuing our discussion we started last week, we cover various issues with the current school system and our own personal experiences we've had both as parents of school age children and teaching in the classroom years ago. Not all children learn the same way and many of them are left behind or left out because they don't fit in a box. We discuss how to fix some of the problems and also how to support our children by being their advocates.

UNFILTERED PODCAST: Teen Talk, How to Have Honest. Open. Communication.

UNFILTERED PODCAST: Teen Talk, How to Have Honest. Open. Communication.

In this episode of Unfiltered Podcast, we talk about teen talk, how to have honest, open communication with them. Teen years can be tough for everyone. Teens are going through tremendous changes in their lives, physically, mentally and emotionally, which leaves them unpredictable at times.  We have found that teens can be all super happy one minute and for no reason we can see on the surface all of a sudden they are as angry or frustrated as can be! Most of the time they themselves can tell you why they're upset, they just are. As parents, we have to switch roles in the teen years into more of a coaching role, rather than trying to control every aspect of their lives. We need to show them how to process emotions, how to solve problems and how to learn to navigate this thing called life. In a few short years, they will be adults themselves, we have to equip them with as many tools as possible to help them launch well!

RAW REAL UNFILTERED: Parents, Let's Talk About Sex!

RAW REAL UNFILTERED: Parents, Let's Talk About Sex!

In today's episode of Unfiltered Podcast, we help parents learn how to talk to their teens about the topic of sex. **Viewer discretion is advised for younger children as adult content is discussed (no visuals, but we are candid in our conversation about sex).
Parents have a very hard time figuring out how to and when to approach the conversation about sex with their kids. When is too early, when is too late? How much do you share and what happens if they ask questions??  We both share our personal stories with our experiences with sex and how we were raised. This is a very personal episode and about as candid as we can get about a very controversial topic.

UNFILTERED PODCAST: Mom Talk How to Handle The Empty Nest

In this episode of Unfiltered Podcast, us Moms talk about how to handle the Empty Nest when all your children are grown.  When we have littles and we are in the thick of it with parenting, having one day an empty nest and a quiet house seems light years away, but it happens quicker than we think! Heidi has 6 grown adult children who are all out of the house and she shares candidly about that transition, anxiety of losing control and the shift into parenting adults and enjoying her grandkids. Sarah shares what it has been like to have two adult children that did not move out and are still living at home, working full time.

We talk about different things that each of us have experienced in life both personally and with our kids.
