    She is talking to us about her life journey and how it led her to become the incredible entrepreneur that she is today! A true entrepreneur at heart with an endless drive, fiery spirit and never-ending desire to build, design, and create. A graduate with a business degree from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, Danielle established a career in the corporate sector of the fashion industry, quickly working her way up to a National Sales Manager level with over a decade of overseeing brands both in the US and Internationally. While building her early career in the fashion industry, she saw an opportunity to capitalize on the food truck craze by simultaneously launching one of the first ever fashion trucks in 2012 “Chic Rattle & Roll” a mobile “boutique on wheels” featured in such publications as The Wall Street Journal and TIME NY. 

    Her most important role is being a mom to her 3 young children, Madison (11), Jagger (6), and Bellamy (1). Having a career that allows her to be hands on with her children has always been her priority, but fueling her fire to work and make a name for herself has never wavered since a young age. Upon meeting her now husband and long time fitness, health and wellness expert Brian Kermizian, he quickly became her biggest inspiration and cheerleader, and her passion for building brands went into overdrive. The two opened the doors of The Compound in September 2020. Originating as a high-end fitness studio, The Compound is now home to the 2022 Best of Essex County gold winning “Best Coffee Shop” - The Compound Coffee Co. and a popular event space, hosting weekly events from children’s and adult birthday parties, corporate and networking events, wellness and fitness events, showers and more.

We Go Boldly into what healthy boundaries can do for you and for the people in your life. We can set boundaries with ourselves, our family, friends, colleagues, and whole groups if we need to. 

    Boundaries can look different for everyone. It takes some trial and error to figure out what works for you and what doesn’t work. You have the option to set boundaries in any way that makes sense to you. The key is to remember that boundaries are not meant to be hurtful to others, but rather helpful for you. 

    At the end of the day healthy boundaries create happiness and a healthy life. We can set expectations for ourselves and others, separate our wants, needs, and feelings from other people. Boundaries give us a sense of empowerment and ensure our physical and emotional comfort. Tune in today to hear all about how-to set boundaries in your life.

    Test out one hard boundary. Try it out this week.  Maybe you are already doing it.  

    Practice a few soft boundaries.

The sense that it is okay to put one thing down and pick up something else. That the balancing scales are no longer where we are standing, but instead we are performing our own symphony. Even more, the symphony can change at any time, because the goal is harmony not balance.

    Bunmi Emenanjo is a lawyer, entrepreneur, writer, and public speaker. Born in the United States and raised in Nigeria, she was exposed at a young age to globally diverse stories from the works of Chinua Achebe and Wole Soyinka, to Shakespeare and Arabian Nights. Bunmi’s childhood and culture inspire her writing and her work as a curator of children’s books. 

    An avid reader and culture seeker, Bunmi believes a curious mind, a fearless pursuit of purpose, and an active practice of giving and gratitude are key to whole-hearted living. 

    In 2019, she founded Atlas Book Club, a company focused on globally diverse children's books that help all kids see themselves represented in the books that they read, and to travel the world through these books.

    While Bunmi has had a vast legal career from working in the private sector to the White House under the Biden administration, writing is her passion. When she is not practicing law or working on Atlas Book Club, Bunmi is baking, traveling, and writing stories that fill the heart and move the spirit.  

    Bunmi lives in Maryland with her husband, her three children, and a devoted Black Russian terrier named Shadow. Her first picture book, I'll See You in Ijebu will be published by Barefoot Books in March 2024.

    We examine the struggle and joy of parenting, caring for aging parents, and remembering to care for ourselves. As people live longer, the experience of being on both ends of the caregiving spectrum can disrupt our own hearts and spirits. While it is exhausting it is also tremendously rewarding.

    This week on We Go Boldly we examine the intricacies of family in all its iterations and permutations and how they play a role in our journies. We dig into what family means and how it relates to our season long discussion. 

    Family is not only the people you are born to, or who raises you, or a spouse and children. Chosen or found family can also have a profound impact on our well being. Understanding your familial and chosen family relationships will help us protect and uplift our hearts. 

    We talk all about seeking joy in the life you choose, the people you surround yourself with and the family you are willing to have. Part of healthy families must include setting boundaries. Sometimes that requires letting go of the people that are not good for you in your life. Other times it requires you to put in some work to create healthy relationships. We are allowed to seek out and build a family that feels safe, and loving. It is important to acknowledge the role that found family plays in communities of color, and the LGBTQ+ community. 

    A big part of creating a healthy family, is to understand the difference between a toxic person and a difficult person. Toxic or unsafe people can be dangerous to us and it is essential to know when and how to get away. Difficult people in our lives may be related to us, or within our chosen family groups. We can learn how to manage those relationships and even improve them over time.

    Wendy Meadows is a force who is not afraid to shake things up and get things done. She is the best-selling author of sparkle & GRIT, a certified life coach (mostly to law moms!), and a family law mediator.

    Wendy practiced family law exclusively for 15 years.  In that time, she became a partner in 5 years, a managing partner in 10, and then “went solo” at 13.  However, she knew there was something more for her.  In true Wendy fashion, she applied some sparkle & GRIT to her own life and made a leap of faith to become a certified life coach so that she could help her professional comrades beat the burnout, feel heard, and find success in a way that feels good to them.  Women who life coach with Wendy say that she “transforms their habits and outlook on life.”

    Do we have the courage to be vulnerable?  When are we at our strongest? It is when we are willing to be the most emotionally vulnerable. Choosing to be vulnerable means facing: sadness, shame, helplessness, anger, embarrassment, disappointment, or frustration. That is what it takes. 

    This week we talk about how being vulnerable will open up your heart and your world. Of course we talk about the queen of vulnerability, Brene Brown. 

    Vulnerability is a scary word and a scary idea, but it SO important.  How will you be vulnerable this week?

    Lisa Lisser is the founder of LZL Coaching, practiced litigation in NYC before retiring to raise her three children.

    While at home with her kids, she became deeply involved in non-profit work. She supported her community as a public speaker and advocate. She designed community wide programs and was an active participant on multiple non-profit boards.

    A lifelong learner, she went back to school, earned her masters in Jewish education and became a certified spiritual counselor.

    Now, a CDC certified divorce coach, she is blending her talents and life experiences to do the work she was meant to do.

    She understands the complicated process of divorce through both legal eyes and personal experience. We are so excited to have Lisa join us today!
