S5E7: You Gotta Know When To Hold Them -- We're Talking Boundaries & All The Ugh That Comes With Them

On this episode of The Sacred Donut, we talk about BOUNDARIES.  It sounds like that old Kenny Rodgers gambling song, but let's face it, relationships are a gamble. Setting boundaries is a life's skill. You do have to know when to hold them, when to walk away, and when to run. When to set soft boundaries and when to draw them in the concrete. And all the UGH in between, all around and underneath.

How to Forgive but Set Healthy Boundaries

EPISODE 147: How to create and keep boundaries

EPISODE 147: How to create and keep boundaries

Boundaries are meant to serve you, not punish other people. Today we get into the how-to of setting boundaries, with a splash of the why. We Go Boldly into what healthy boundaries can do for you and for the people in your life. We can set boundaries with ourselves, our family, friends, colleagues, and whole groups if we need to.

Boundaries can look different for everyone. It takes some trial and error to figure out what works for you and what doesn’t work. You have the option to set boundaries in any way that makes sense to you. The key is to remember that boundaries are not meant to be hurtful to others, but rather helpful for you.

At the end of the day healthy boundaries create happiness and a healthy life. We can set expectations for ourselves and others, separate our wants, needs, and feelings from other people. Boundaries give us a sense of empowerment and ensure our physical and emotional comfort. Tune in today to hear all about how-to set boundaries in your life.

Podcast: How do we work out healthy boundaries at work? Co-presenter Kristen Coggan.

There seems to be no rule book with this one. How do we balance the importance of relationship building in the workplace, and the need to support mental health, with a boundary of some sort to keep our workplace professional.

As usual, Kristen and I threw this question at the wall to see how it would fall. We weren't disappointed. There is so much to this question. I'm sure that we all have our own experiences of this going well, and of course... not going well.

We would love to hear your thoughts on your experience of this curly question.
