    Conestabile della Staffa Rosso Sangiovese

    Conestabile della Staffa Rosso Sangiovese

Lucy and Ned taste and discuss the Conestabile della Staffa Rosso and the wine maker: Danilo Marcucci.  It's a 100% Sangiovese wine from northern Umbria.  This is a naturally fermented zero sulfur wine.  Danilo Marcucci has had a big impact on Central Italian Natural wine and wine making in general there.  Danilo has done a lot to spread knowledge of how to make wines with out lots of additives and the wine is a lovely example of a zero sulfur wine that's delicious.

    Chevalerie Diptyque Bourgueil 2014

    Chevalerie Diptyque Bourgueil 2014

Chevalerie is an amazing family winery in Bourgueil, in the central Loire.  The Caslot family has been here since the mid 1600s.  They make some of the most lovely Cabernet Francs in the Loire that are supple and elegant but also serious and thoughtful at the same time.  This is exactly the kind of wine we get excited about: thoughtful, layered, supple, deep, and serious.  And it's a really underappreciated value of a wine.
