Kaylie is a wrestler for Kemmerer High School. She speaks on her experience with winning a state title this season at 140 lbs. She talks about how it was being on the same team as her sister, who also made it to the state finals and she talks about that experience. She also gives her advice on what to do in the post season to improve.

Former Windy City coach & current Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association Board member Kevin Dillon speaks on his experiences with coaching and running a youth club. In this episode Jess and Malinda discuss all things wrestling, from the perspective of a mom, coach, and female in the sport! 

Malinda Ripley, As a junior won her 2nd State title and also receive 2nd Team All-American honors by The Mat.com As a senior she won her 3rd State Title and the USA Wrestling Junior National Title at 110#. She was also recognized by the CIF as a California National Champion.

After graduation Malinda would go on to win the 2003 and 2004 U.S. Senior National Freestyle titles at 121# and in 2004 she qualified for the Olympic Team Trials.

Today, Malinda is the Head Women’s Wrestling Coach at Albany High School and for the last 10 years she has been the Director/Coach/Team Leader for California USA Wrestling. Her California teams have captured 28 National Team titles. Her continuing goal is to develop strong, motivated, disciplined and confident young women through the sport of wrestling.

We are honored to have Joan Flup in this episode! Joan is an amazing advocate for women's wrestling and has been throughout her career! Joan became the first woman to be elected to USA Wrestling’s Executive Board as second vice-president in 2020. She is co-chair of USA Wrestling’s Girls High School Development Committee. She continues to work with grassroots committees, state wrestling associations and interscholastic offices to support and develop the growth of girls wrestling at the high school level across the nation.

Jess & Joan talk about the differences between men and women's wrestling, how to continue to educate the wrestling community on these differences, and how to grow this amazing sport!

Physical Therapist Mike Boulter joins me for another great episode. Mike graduated from the University of Montana and now works in Casper Wyoming making sure athletes are in tip-top condition. Aside from this though, he has also helped me at several events making sure our wrestling girls are taken care of and can stay out on the mat. He shares his love and passion for what he does and also gives us his take on why wrestlers are some of the toughest people.
