This week on the show Maine and Emil recap the 2019 IBJJF Heavyweight GP, The Shugyo Invitational Episode 2, Preview Polaris 11, Fight to Win 123 in Sacramento, CA, and talk professional BJJ News.   Get the video show on YouTube.

In the news section we talk about Garry Tonon potentially returning to grappling.  We mention that Damien Maia Vs. Ben Askren has been booked in the UFC for October 26th.  Talk about Daniel Strauss lifting the Dinnie stones.  As well as a big thank you to Footlock Fire for helping Maine out with some long running audio issues that have plagued the show for multiple years.

In the recap section of the show we kick things off with the 2019 IBJJF HW GP talking about replacements and each of the 7 matches that were part of the event in the quarterfinals we saw Joao Gabriel Rocha Patrick Gaudio, Vinicius Ferreira versus Luiz Panza that has some passing and rule issues, that affected the pace of the event.  We saw Lucas Barbosa take a decisive shutout victory over Tim Spriggs via points 12-0, and in the last match of the quarters Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu vs. Victor Hugo 0-0, in what the hosts thought was one of the best on paper matchps.

In the Semifinals we break down Joao Gabriel Rocha Vinicius Ferriera and lots of advantages, then Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu vs. Lucas Barbosa in a matchup full of controversy and penalties the Maine and Emil agree and disagree with

In the finals we break down how Cyborg defeated Joao Gabriel Rocha and earned himself 40,000 dollars and Joao 10K in prize money.  After that the hosts discuss some of the odd pacing and breaks in the event including a 2 hour break between the semifinals and the main event.

After that we move into our recap of Shugyo Invitational Episode 2 and talk about how much we love the format and the narrative elements in the shows production.  What we gleam from the competitors and generally how great the event is to watch. We break down Keith Krikorian Vs Max Rohskopf in their first round bouts and talk about how cool it was to hear Krikorian break down the submission that he gets it done with.  Then we move into the recap of the Ethan Crelinsten Vs. Josh Bacallao match that saw Ethan take it with an impressive back take trapping the arms, and sinking in a deep rear naked choke to get the win.  Tune in every week for this ongoing event.

We briefly touch on ACE grappling and their event that run this weekend, and how to find the promotions matches.

After that we move into the preview section of the show taking about Polaris Pro 11.  Headlined by Ffion Davies VS Talita Alencar in a matchup that Maine thinks will determine the next grappler to compete for the belt.  Edwin Najmi VS Mansher Khera a bout that could have potentially taken place last week in another organization, but that we get to see for real here.  Cage Warriors star Paddy Pimblett takes on Steven Ray. A sleeper match on the main card in the Gi Marcos Tinoco VS Tommy Langaker, this is very well matched, and both hosts are looking forward to this style clash.  Heavyweight Judoka Satoshi Ishii is pitted against No-Gi specialist Arya Esfandmaz, and Ben Dyson takes on Nick Rodriguez a seemingly unstoppable ADCC bound Blue Belt.  We have been seeing a ton of Nicky Rod in recent weeks and he has not disappointed us yet.  Looking forward to this whole event as well as some really outstanding matchups on the undercard.

After that we preview Fight 2 Win 123, in Sacramento, California.  This event is main evented by a matchup you do not want to miss Dante Leon vs Gabriel Arges, Leon is a grappler that we have seen push the action against event the highest level of competitors and Arges is just that this has fight of the night written all over it.  In the Co-Main event we see Jose Carlos Lima vs Samir Chantre, and in the third

#93 Recap Kasai Pro 6, Kenetic Grappling 1, F2W 122, Preview IBJJF HW GP. Masters Worlds

#93 Recap Kasai Pro 6, Kenetic Grappling 1, F2W 122, Preview IBJJF HW GP. Masters Worlds

This week on the show Maine and Ryan recap the weeks professional BJJ events and Superfights.

We Recap Kasai Pro 6, Kenetic Grappling 1, Fight To Win 122, Shugyo Invitational Episode 1, and Preview the IBJJF Heavyweight GP, plus talk about IBJJF Masters Worlds.

We kick off the show with some news talking about ADCC drop outs and replacements; with Romulo dropping out to replaced by Claudio Calasans.  Plus Maine talks about being the backstage social media interviewer for ADCC world championships 2019.  We talk a bit about the Grappling Rewind YouTube page and the additional content that is being produced for that platform including a new video of how to get on a BJJ Superfight.  Subscribe to see the latest BJJ YouTube content.

After the news section we talk about the Kinetic Grappling, and come to a few conclusions.  One Lachlan Giles is very good and guys going to ADCC are also very good.  We talk about domination that was the super team of BJJ Fanatics with Giles taking out an entire time himself, and the Nick Rodriguez, Gordon Ryan combo taking out a whole second team themselves. We break down the winning teams matches, and talk about some changes we have seen as of late in a few of the members of the team as they go into ADCC.

In the recap for KASAI Pro 6 we recap the mens 135 pound tournament, all of the super fights, and a couple of the undercard matches.  In the tournament recap we talk about some changes that Richard Alarcon, Junny Ocasio and João Miyao have made with their games as of recently.  We talk about the way the Unity grapplers now basket the legs, and the pace at which Junny worked in his inaugural Black Belt showing.  In the super fights we recap Murilo Santana and his great hooking arm control and sweep.  In Matheus Diniz vs Josh Hinger we recap the interesting game plan choices from Hinger, and a flying armbar attempt got awry.  In the Kaynan Duarte vs Patrick Gaudio matchup we discuss the intricacies of scoring points, and what it takes to have a back take scored.  Plus Tom DeBlass retirement after winning his super fight by Kneebar.  As well the William Tacket, Gracie Gundrum, and Aaron Harris undercard matches.

In the recap of Fight to Win 122 in Scottsdale, AZ, we break down Augusto Tanquinho Mendes vs Marcelo Mafra, and Osvaldo Queixinho Moizinho vs Tiago Barros.  Then get into talking about the great submission attempts and sequences that took place in the Karen Antunes vs Tracey Goodell matchup. Plus Maine shares a story about a weird triangle footlock.

In the preview section we briefly talk about IBJJF 2019 Masters Worlds in Las Vegas, with Ryan going out to Vegas to compete.  As well as all the cool BJJ events and seminars that happen this coming week in vegas.  With the IBJJF Vegas open taking place the same week.  During this preview we get into the preview for the IBJJF Heavyweight GP that Ryan realizes he will be in Las Vegas for, and now plans to attend live.

In the preview of the IBJJF HW GP, Maine and Ryan are unable to pick who they think will take the championship between the stars scheduled to compete at the event.  Even with all of the card changes this event is still looking like it will be amazing with the likes of Matheus Diniz, Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa Cyborg, Current IBJJF No Gi world champion Tim Spriggs, Current ADCC Champion Yuri Simoes, Patrick Gaudio, Perennial top world contender Joao Gabriel Rocha, and Luiz Panza.  This is not one to miss.

    #92 Recap F2W 121, Preview Kasai 6, Shugyo Interview, Kinektic Grappling, F2W 122, CJJ

    #92 Recap F2W 121, Preview Kasai 6, Shugyo Interview, Kinektic Grappling, F2W 122, CJJ

On this packed show Maine and Emil Recap Fight to Win 121 in Austin Texas.  We Preview Kasai Pro 6, The Shugyo Invitational including an Interview with the events promoter Phill Schwartz.  We preview as best we can the Kinektic Grappling event taking place on UFC fight pass, as well as at the very end of the show announce a huge late replacement. We preview Fight to Win 122 in Scottsdale, AZ, CJJ worlds and briefly talk about the finals of SOGI 3.

To kick off the show Maine and Emil talk news.  In this weeks news we talk about the latest ADCC division movements with Keenan moving up in weight and switching placed with fellow American Mason Fowler.

Grappling Industries announces that it is working in partnership with Third Coast Grappling and the winner of the upcoming Houston Absolute will get a slot on the next 3CG.  In other 3CG news the promotion has announced an upcoming split from FloGrappling to form their own service.

Fight to Win has announced their first international event taking place in the UK.

Maine announces that he will be the official backstage interviewer for the ADCC 2019 social media account and the Grappling Rewind.

In the recap section we break down Fight to Win 121 in Austin Texas.  This event we see Nathiely Karoline defeat Gabi Garcia and take the Female Heavy Weight title showcasing great sweeps, and control.  We also talk about Jonathan Satava vs Kody Steele in a match reminiscent of vintage Marcello Garcia, great butterfly guard, and high elbow guillotine work.  Emil goes deep on judo names, and Maine gets excited about late replacements and action grapplers.

Then we move into the preview section of the show.  Talking about Kasai Pro 6, featuring some exciting Superfights between Yuri Simoes and Kaynan Duarte, the hosts make their picks, and in a surprising outcome make the same pick.  We also talk about Matheus Diniz vs Josh Hinger in a matchup sure to feature even more heavy pressure wrestling.  In the 135lb 8-man tournament, between Geo Martinez, Joao Miyao, Jon Calestine, Junny Ocasio, Ashley Williams, Richard Alarcon, Rafael "Barata" Freitas, and Masakazu Imanari, we talk about previous matchups and who has come out on top before.

We preview as best we can the Kinektic Grappling event taking place on UFC fight pass, as well as at the very end of the show announce a huge late replacement. (its Gordon Ryan) and this makes much of the speculation we made earlier in the show seem irrelevant.

We preview Fight to Win 122 in Scottsdale, AZ, with a ton of black belt matches on the main card.  This event is headlined by former world champion Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes vs Marcelo Mafra, the Co-Main Event is another title bout Osvaldo Queixinho Moizinho vs Tiago Barros, and in the co-co main event we see another black belt title match between Tracey Goodell and Karen Antunes.  There are more black belt matches than we have seen in a long time on this card.

We run thorough CJJ worlds and talk about how Eddie Bravo has announced that EBI is coming back after all the CJJ champions are established.

Then we briefly talk about the finals of SOGI 3.

Then we talk about the first episode of the Shugyo Invitational including an Interview with the events promoter Phill Schwartz; where he shares a ton of information about the promotion and the pay structure and how the event works.  As of this episode being live the first episode of the invitational is available for viewing.

In the end of show discussion Emil talks about his upcoming trip to Puerto Rico, and Maine talks about his weekend trip to South Carolina with his family.

Haniel) Crowdmoving als sichtbare und messbare Corporate Social Responsibility Aktivität nutzen. about this event: https://fahrplan.bits-und-baeume.org/events/122.html
