Min mormor var från Karelen. Där hon kom ifrån giftes männen in i gården, inte tvärtom. Så det var en annan sorts maktbas till att börja med.

Lotta Ilona Häyrynen föddes i Björneborg och flyttade som sexåring till Sverige. Insikten om hennes sverigefinska identitet och det politiska uppvaknandet kom för ett knappt decennium sedan och är delvis kopplat till varandra.

Sannfinländarna hade kommit upp på tapeten i Finland och frågor som finskhet och finlandssvenskhet blev plötsligt politiserade på ett annat sätt. Det fick mig att börja reflektera över min egen identitet.
