    Presentation on Iran´s Situation (DS2023)

    Presentation on Iran´s Situation (DS2023)
History of the struggles for freedom among people, who live within political borders of Iran. With the beginning of Jina’s movement, all eyes turned into Iran. A country notorious for its human right violation and imposed restrictions on women’s life, suddenly made headlines due to an uprising mainly led by women and youth and people within different nations and ethnic groups in Iran. Events that followed after Jina’s state murder, shattered all the existing dominant narratives about Iran, exposing the reality behind the curtain of what seemed to be a culturally and politically homogeneous society. In this presentation Shaghayegh is telling tell us, bits and pieces from now and then, from here and there, about the history of resistance and struggles for freedom among the people, who live within political borders of Iran, about constant presence, efforts and attempts of counter revolutionary forces to keep and maintain the foundations and structure of power, with understanding Iran's role, ties, and geopolitical impact on the region, as much as time allows. about this event: https://talks.datenspuren.de/ds23/talk/9RX3TZ/

Open Data und Freies Wissen im Bund: Was ist, was kommt? (mrmcd23)

Back to Black: The African World Festival Returns to Hart Plaza with Njia Kai

Having a place that validates your existence is essential to community building. In order to prepare ourselves for a mutually beneficial future, we must come together and acknowledge the cyclical nature of our world.

That’s the philosophy of art lover, public space activator, and event curator Njia Kai.

On this episode Donna, Orlando, and Njia discuss Charles H. Wright African World Festival’s return to Hart Plaza. Njia gives an in depth look at the festival’s history and its significance to the Detroit community.

    3615 Love by PAMAL_Group (emf2022)

    3615 Love by PAMAL_Group (emf2022)
PAMAL_Group is a European artistic group, composed of artists, media theorists, curators-restorers and engineers. Their artwork "3615 Love" will be installed at EMF 2022. PAMAL_Group creates its own works from digital artworks that have disappeared or been severely damaged due to the obsolescence of computer software and hardware. Its work seeks to reveal the vulnerability of an art that is highly dependent on industrial logic. All the artworks that the collective reconstructs, as close as possible to the original materialities, sometimes in a deficient way, are treated as archives. The artwork "3615 Love" is based on the reconstruction of telematic materialities (videotex, Minitel network, etc.) and the archive of works by Jacques-Elie Chabert and Camille Philibert (L'Objet perdu, 1985) and Eduardo Kac (Videotext Poems, 1985-1986). The installation "3615 Love" shows how fragile and vulnerable our digital environment - and a fortiori its artistic productions - is. about this event: https://c3voc.de

GNOSIS Map Tiles: Open specifications for tiles of vector, imagery, coverages, point clouds, referenced and embedded 3D models (foss4g2019)
An overview of the GNOSIS Map Tiles (GMTs) open specifications for tiling geospatial data developed by Ecere in conjunction with OGC Testbed 13 and 14 and the latest draft specifications can be found in OGC Engineering Report: http://docs.opengeospatial.org/per/18-025.html#GMTSpecs GMTs can contain different types of data such as vector data, satellite imagery, coverages/elevation models, point clouds and either embedded or referenced 3D models (e.g. using Ecere's E3D format, or another encoding such as glTF for example). GMTs are compact, ensure proper vector topology, and minimizes the time required to load onto GPU for hardware accelerated rendering.
