 In Acts 20, we are introduced to Eutychus. He’s a young man who, falls asleep while listening to one of Paul’s sermons, then falls to his death from an upper story window. In this episode we ask what lessons we should learn from a story such as this. We will also figure out how to avoid the Eutychus Syndrome.

Here we'll see that Paul isn't just someone who believes the right things about God, but that he has been raised to new life in Jesus and it is what moves him forward in everything he does. Suffering is hard. Most people do everything they can to avoid suffering. They try to ignore it, avoid it, fight against it, or even deny it's happening, but what if there is another option? Today we look at what that option is because the reality is, suffering is inevitable. Everyone goes through difficult seasons. How can we walk in those seasons well? How might God be working even in our suffering? Is there hope even in the hurt?

Paul’s insistence on going to Jerusalem despite the dangers predicted by the Holy Spirit was not a result of rebellion, but an obedient response to the command of the Holy Spirit in his heart. As we pause and reflect today, let's pray for an obedient heart like Paul's. 

For today, we encourage you to: 
1) Read Acts 21 
2) Reflect and take down notes 
3) End your reading by praying Psalm 23
