Today, we continue our journey through Lent. As we journey forward, inspiring others, we must continue  to look for ways that God is moving in our midst. As we question the motivation of God in our own life, we must remember the vision of God's Love, and how it feeds and nourishes us. What nourishes your Spirit? How will you feed or nourish others with God's Love?

GYLTG 282: Pause and Affirm: Never Wasting A Moment

Welcome to Pause & Affirm! This quick hit of inspiration is meant to remind you of your greatness, inner light, and peace!

TAKE A MOMENT TO RELAX AND ALLOW THESE WORDS TO SETTLE IN YOUR MIND, HEART, AND SOUL. Affirming with me:

All that I desire, I receive. I take stock of my life, never wasting another minute on things that cannot and will not fulfill me. My reality is exciting. What I say I want, I attract. What I say I want, I achieve. In everything, there is joy, harmony, and peace. In everything, there is space for me, the real me, as I am. For the first time in a long time, I see that my life keeps getting better and better. My validation starts and ends with me; today, I am validating all I am. This is a new kind of high. This is a new kind of me.

We are welcomed by the Season of Epiphany and the Baptism of Jesus. A New Year is upon us and we are reminded of what we have been doing; some well and some we could have done better. We look forward to figuring out 365 new ways of being open to what God has to offer us. We have 365 possibilities to show others how to be God's People. The candles of Advent have faded and now the Christ Candle burns bright, showing us love and reminding us to renew our calling of being Followers of Jesus. We have a clean slate, how will we renew our faith and show love to one another?

As we journey to Bethlehem in this Season of Advent, we move to prepare ourselves for the birth of Jesus. We are inspired by God to welcome the Prince of Peace. As a People of Faith, we are constantly inspired by the Gift of Hope, which helps us to move forward as faithful people with Peace, Love, Inclusion and Acceptance of all. Like Mary found favour in God, we have a gift to share with others. You are inspired to find your gifts and bring joy to the world.

    Gender Affirming Care

Children's Hospital of Colorado announces end to gender reassignment surgeries, but there might be some fine print

Children's Hospital of Colorado announces end to gender reassignment surgeries, but there might be some fine print
Dan is heartened by the public statement from Children's Hospital of Colorado that the facility will no longer be performing gender reassignment surgeries, but a clandestine operation room nurse from the medical center warns they are still providing other gender-affirming care and referring surgery patients to University of Colorado hospital campuses. Ryan also points out the continuing abuse of children with puberty blockers which prevent children from developing biologically - in terms of bone strength and density, lung capacity, cardiovascular health, and muscle function - something no veterinarian would agree to do to any puppy or kitten.

GYLTG 177: Pause & Affirm: I Choose Peace!

GYLTG 177: Pause & Affirm: I Choose Peace!

Welcome to Pause & Affirm! This quick hit of inspiration is meant to remind you of your greatness, inner light, and peace! These quick notes to self are taken from the wildly popular Get Your Life Together, Girl daily quotes featured on Instagram. I hope you enjoy this new Saturday morning moment together.

TAKE A MOMENT TO RELAX AND ALLOW THESE WORDS TO SETTLE IN YOUR MIND, HEART, AND SOUL. Affirming with me:

“Peace is my goal today. In this peace, I will not take everything personally. Instead, I put action to my needs and wants instead of stagnation. My mind is focused on seeing things as they are rather than how I want them to be, and I understand that every thought and feeling only has as much power as I give them. So, I decide my vibe and energy. And because of this, I know that being at peace has never meant my life will be without noise. It means I know that worrying about things I cannot change does nothing to create change. Worrying about the things I cannot change does nothing but steal your empowerment. So from today forward, I choose peace by choosing what is right for me. My peace comes from within, and I choose it with a whole and honest heart.“

Lock these words inside and repeat these words aloud as often as needed, and remember, you are worthy, and you have always been. Until next, be kind to yourself and others.

Episode 308 : Sally Gary - Affirming: A Memoir of Faith, Sexuality, and Staying in the Church

Episode 308 : Sally Gary - Affirming: A Memoir of Faith, Sexuality, and Staying in the Church
This is Jason speaking... As a Christian, I've never understood the hang-up and/or obsession some Christians have regarding gay Christians. Maybe it's my age. Maybe it's because my first teacher- after my having just become a Christian- was Dr. Gene Rogers, who introduced me to Karl Barth and Thomas Aquinas and who happened to be gay. As a pastor, I'm both exhausted by the sexuality debate and heartsick over its many victims-- often anonymous, suffering in the pews.

For all these reasons, it's a privilege to have Sally Gary as our guest for episode #308 to discuss her work with CenterPeace and her new book, Affirming: A Memoir of Faith, Sexuality, and Staying in the Church.

    Here's the blurb from Amazon:

What is it like to discover that something you’ve believed all your life might be wrong?

Sally Gary knew since her early adulthood that she was attracted to women. But as a devoted Christian, she felt there was no way to fully embrace this aspect of her identity while remaining faithful. Now, as she prepares to marry the love of her life, she’s ready to speak out about why—and how—her perspective changed.

In this deeply personal memoir, Sally traces the experiences, conversations, and scriptural reading that culminated in her seeing her sexuality as something that made sense within the context of her faith—not outside of it or in opposition to it. Along the way, she addresses specific aspects of her journey that will resonate with many other gay Christians: the loneliness and isolation of her previously celibate life, the futile attempts she made to resist or even “change” her sexual orientation, and the fear of intimacy that followed a lifetime of believing same-sex relationships were sinful.

Sally’s story—one of heritage, learning, courage, and love—is written especially for the generations of LGBTQ Christians after her who are questioning whether they can stay part of the church they call home. It’s a resounding reminder that, just like Sally’s own heart, things can change, and sometimes, when we earnestly search for the truth, we find it in the most unexpected places.

Diana Butler Bass on "Freeing Jesus"

Diana Butler Bass on "Freeing Jesus"

Diana Butler Bass is our guest this week on The Well QA Podcast to talk about her newest book Freeing Jesus.

Her secular friends often ask her “How can you still be a Christian?” In the book, she explains that her experience of Jesus has changed over the years, viewing him in different ways at different times. And that, though she is still a Christian, she isn’t the same kind of Christian she used to be, or that they many think she is.

Freeing Jesus explores the many images of Jesus we encounter and embrace through a lifetime—and how we make theology from the text of our lives in conversation with scripture and tradition. Freeing Jesus invites us to liberate Jesus and free ourselves when it comes to the ever-compelling and yet often-elusive figure at the center of Christian faith.

Join us for this talk with Diana Butler Bass and check out her book Freeing Jesus.
