She then explains the importance of recognizing children as citizens and the Convention of the Rights of the Child. Audrey then examines the lack of public dialogue in the US around human rights. Next, she shares her sentiments and concerns regarding the rise of authoritarianism, and the importance of examining underlying causes and revisiting definitions of power and democracy. She elaborates on confronting the rise of dictatorial tendencies in political parties, and identifies our fascination with personality and spectacle as problematic. America's Roundtable with Rabbi Eliot H. Pearlson | Revitalizing American Exceptionalism | US-Israel Partnership | Biden's Executive Order Targeting Israeli Jews | The Abraham Accords
Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Rabbi Eliot H. Pearlson who serves at the Temple Menorah in Miami Beach, Florida. This weekend on America's Roundtable, the conversation with Rabbi Eliot Pearlson will include the following key topics: Is “American exceptionalism” fading? The agenda to re-write America’s unique role in advancing freedom and the rule of law. Socialism in Latin America and lessons for America’s citizens. How October 7, 2023 changed Israel. The call to free Americans and Israeli hostages still held captive in Gaza. The significance of remembrance. The future of the Abraham Accords. Is Biden’s new executive order targeting Israeli citizens and politicians ⏤ a departure of US support for the Jewish state? Brief biography | Rabbit Eliot H. Pearlson In 1989, Rabbi Eliot H. Pearlson succeeded Rabbi Meyer Abramowitz ז”ל, who had served Temple Menorah since its founding in 1949. Rabbi Pearlson was no stranger to Temple Menorah, having served as our Director of Education before leaving for a pulpit in Asheville, North Carolina. Born in upstate New York, he is the youngest of eight children. His parents, Sylvia and Ben ז”ל were farmers near Buffalo until moving to Miami Beach in 1963, where they entered the Hotel and Hospitality industry. Within months of assuming his duties, Rabbi Pearlson followed in the footsteps of his predecessor, affirming the well-deserved notoriety of Temple Menorah by opening the institution to hundreds of Russian Jews escaping from the Soviet Union. Along with the survivors of the Holocaust and the refugees of Castro’s Cuba, another generation of Jewish refugees were guaranteed a spiritual home and place to worship. Education Rabbi Pearlson’s Jewish education is varied and diverse. Although serving in a Traditional synagogue, Rabbi Pearlson has studied in “Litvishe” Yeshiva programs such as the Greater Miami Mesifta, The Talmudic University , Lubavitch Yeshiva-Tomchei Tmimim, and Yeshiva University. In addition to his religious studies, Rabbi Pearlson has undergraduate degrees in Jewish Studies and Biochemistry, a Masters Degree in Rabbinic Literature, and graduate studies in Microbiology at the University of Florida. He was granted his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree in Community Leadership by The Florida Center for Theological Studies in 2010. Rabbi Pearlson received Orthodox Rabbinic Ordination at the Diaspora Yeshiva on Mt. Zion-Jerusalem. Community Among Rabbi Pearlson’s community outreach efforts has been the ‘adoption’ of an African American Church. ln addition to a pulpit exchange with its minister, Temple Menorah also sponsored its Afternoon Computer Lab for Children at Risk. As a Jewish activist, Rabbi Pearlson has been arrested defending Jewish causes in Auschwitz-Birkenau, New York City and Miami—as his supporters note: “Arrested, but never convicted.” Further reading: Is America Exceptional? By Norman Podhoretz | Author, My Love Affair with America (https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/is-america-exceptional/) Brief excerpt: "We have excelled by following our Founding Fathers in directing our energies, as our Constitution exhorts us to do, to the preservation of the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, as well as to the pursuit of happiness tacitly understood by the Declaration of Independence to require prosperity as a precondition. (In his original draft of the Declaration, of course, Jefferson used the word “property” instead of “pursuit of happiness.”) By remaining faithful in principle—and to a considerable extent in practice—to the ideas by which the Founders hoped to accomplish these ends, we and our forebears have fashioned a country in which more liberty and more prosperity are more widely shared than among any other people in human history. Yes, even today that holds true, despite policies unfaithful both to the letter and to the spirit of the traditional American system that have resulted in a series of political and economic setbacks." Identity Politics is Backfiring on Democrats: Millions Abandon the Party

Today: The heart of American politics - identity and nationalism. We discuss the transformation President Trump brought about in identity politics and how he championed a more nationalist and populist narrative. We critically examine the divisive tactics of the radical left, their focus on victimhood, and the chaos they perpetuate. We wrap up our discussion by acknowledging the rising number of people who are leaving Commusocialist (formerly known as Democrat) Party, in favor of the conservative MAGA movement.

America's Roundtable with Dr. Ben Carson | Saving the American Dream | Israel's War Against Hamas | Restoring America's Leadership
Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., America’s 17th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and founder of the American Cornerstone Institute. Dr. Carson is former Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is author of bestselling books: Gifted Hands, Think Big, A More Perfect Union, The Big Picture, America the Beautiful, and Created Equal. Dr. Ben Carson presents principled solutions to the challenges on the domestic and foreign fronts. We discuss concerns about the American Dream (only 36% of voters in a new Wall Street Journal/NORC survey said the American dream still holds true), Israel's war against Iran-backed Hamas, Iran's proxies attacking US facilities, US-China relations, and America's education in crisis. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. For a time, the likelihood of Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a physician seemed unlikely. Growing up in a single parent home with dire poverty, poor grades, a horrible temper, and low self-esteem appeared to preclude the realization of that dream until his mother, with only a third-grade education, challenged her sons to strive for excellence. She observed successful people and encouraged her sons to emulate their behaviors, including reading. This led to behavior changes which had a profound effect on their education. In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. At the age of 33, Dr. Carson became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, making him the youngest major division director in the hospital’s history. This would be among an extensive list of outstanding firsts for Dr. Carson. Dr. Carson’s accomplishments have earned him a place in medical history. He performed the first and only successful separation of craniopagus (Siamese) twins joined at the back of the head in 1987. He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa. In his career, Dr. Carson became a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for over 29 years. He became the inaugural recipient of a professorship dedicated in his name in May 2008. He is now the Emeritus Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. and Dr. Evelyn Spiro, R.N. Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery, having retired on June 30, 2013. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community and life. americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 Twitter: @RealBenCarson @ileaderssummit @AmericasRT @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. S4E53 Martyn Whittock: The Vikings from Leif Eriksson to the Q-Shamon (J6)

S4E53 Martyn Whittock: The Vikings from Leif Eriksson to the Q-Shamon (J6)

Historian and prolific author Martyn Whittock re-joins Ken to discuss his soon-to-be-released (November 7, 2023) book,  American Vikings - How the Norse Sailed into the Lands and Imaginations of America from his study in the U.K. Martyn has appeared several times on the podcast - with conversations about the use and misuse of eschatology throughout history, the passing of Queen Elizabeth, the monarchy in Great Britain, the coronation of King Charles and the implications of a State Church (in contrast to separation of church and state in the USA). Martyn has written extensively about medieval history in Europe, but his interest was peaked as the events unfolded at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. A most memorable character, Jake Chansley, AKA the Q-Shaman captured on camera at the podium of the inner sanctum, barechested, revealing tattoos and other symbols of Viking mythology. Martyn takes us back a thousand years (1021 C.E.) for an exploration of the Nordic saga and myth, the landing of the Vikings on this continent hundreds of years before Christopher Columbus, separating fact and fiction of that early occupation of what became known as America and finally the ways in which the Viking "deep story" penetrates the imagination of Americans. Marvel has tapped into the Viking world (the God of Thunder, Thor) in comic books and superhero cinema. That story has been hijacked and utilized as inspiration for the Alt-Right, white supremacy, and manifest destiny, culminating in the insurrection of January 2021, symbolized by the memorable character, the Q-Shaman, sentenced to nearly four years in prison. She taught Jason a love for freedom, democracy, and that America is indeed the “last best hope on earth.” A product of Virginia public schools, Jason graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from James Madison University and received his J.D. from the College of William and Mary School of Law. He previously served as a prosecutor in the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, where he worked alongside law enforcement to keep violent criminals off our streets and our communities safe. While representing Virginia Beach, Jason was recognized as “Legislator of the Year” in both 2018 and 2019 from the College Affordability and Public Trust for his work on transparency and affordability in higher education, as well as by the Hampton Roads Military Officers Association of America in 2018. He was also recognized in 2019 by the Safe House Project for his work combatting human trafficking, an issue that his administration is prioritizing. Jason Miyares is the first Cuban American elected to the General Assembly, the first Hispanic elected statewide in Virginia, and the first son of an immigrant ever elected to be Attorney General. The Surprising Real Story of the Metric System

The Surprising Real Story of the Metric System

Everybody has heard the Americans don't have the metric system.  Like a lot of things we've heard, it's not totally true, and to the extent that it is true, there's a story behind it.

Part one introduced the thoughts behind the metric system from the perspective of someone puzzled that everyone thinks we still use hogsheads and firkins.

In this episode all the barriers to American metrication are exposed.  The outside world was surprisingly finicky in its quest for a standard, and America was usually ahead of the world. Too bad America was not in charge.

The Theory of the Metric System - An Essay

Everybody has heard the Americans don't have the metric system.  Like a lot of things we've heard, it's not totally true, and to the extent that it is true, there's a story behind it.

Part one introduces the thoughts behind the metric system from the perspective of someone puzzled that everyone thinks we still use hogsheads and firkins.

Just like us - you're not all metric either.  And just like you, we're as metric as we need to be.

Pakistan: Climate Victim or Just a Crap-Hole?

Pakistan: Climate Victim or Just a Crap-Hole?

The United Nations COP27 is has its foot on the gas pedal driving the Climate Change machine and the Washington Post is fully on board, reporting on the supposed victimization of Pakistan.   As the UN strives to channel money from west to east, the Climate Change  flim flam has to have shills, and Pakistan is today's man on the stage.    With a large population living on a plain that floods every three years, this country provides the perfect opportunity to claim that regular weather patterns are actually climate disasters caused by Man.  By western Man to be exact.

Explore what are the real factors at play; see what must be ignored if you are to believe this hoax.  Pakistan has full control over the problem, and needs to look inward.  They have vast human resources, but spend their money on warfare while neglecting their infrastructure.

Then when nature strikes anyway, they should follow the example of western nations who took care of themselves in the past as for example in the aftermath of the Great Galveston Hurricane.

As for the rest of the world, they  should then ask the question: if climate change is real, why don't the Climate Doomers  show us victims who are real as well?

French Roast - An unfair but funny lambasting of America's Oldest Ally

"My country is great; sorry about yours."  First in a series of tongue-in-cheek critiques of other countries.  It seems that outlandish criticism of the US is always in style, so we begin with roasting France, our oldest ally to demonstrate how easy it is to make another look bad when you can make up the rules as you go along.

Part II - A Conversation with Judge Henry W. Saad | U.S. Foreign Policy Impacted by America's Deteriorated Rule of Law

Part II - A Conversation with Judge Henry W. Saad | U.S. Foreign Policy Impacted by America's Deteriorated Rule of Law
Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Judge Henry W. Saad, former Chief Judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals. Judge Henry W. Saad currently serves as Special Counsel in Plunkett Cooney's Appellate Law Practice Group. Judge Saad was nominated to the federal district court by President George H.W. Bush and to the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Court by President George W. Bush. Judge Saad retired from the appellate court in 2017. The conversation with Judge Saad is focused on concerns raised by America's engaged citizens regarding the deterioration of the rule of law, the actions of the administrative state, and the fate of individual liberty and private property rights. The conversation will also look at how America's rule of law impacts U.S. foreign policy, and specifically the current process put in motion which has allowed Iran — a state sponsor of terrorism to pursue its military goals of developing nuclear arms. While the Biden Administration has failed to hold to account a nuclear-armed Russia for invading a sovereign state on the European continent, the question raised is how will the White House cordon a nuclear-armed Iran from attacking sovereign states in the Middle East including Israel and beyond. The discussion will also highlight the one-year anniversary of the chaotic and disastrous withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan that saw the Taliban take power by force and 13 American service men and women killed in the withdrawal. Update: The FBI Raid on Former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Home According to published reports, "A federal magistrate judge has given the Department of Justice one week to provide a redacted copy of the affidavit used to justify the unprecedented FBI search (https://text.npr.org/2022/08/12/1117151056/fbi-collected-multiple-sets-of-classified-documents-from-trumps-mar-a-lago-home) of former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, saying that he believes the affidavit should be partially released. U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart ruled the DOJ must turn over the redacted version by next Thursday at noon." Brief Bio | Judge Henry W.
