That's right, this week we review Wish, the latest film from Walt Disney Animation Studios and part of the company's 100 year anniversary...for better or worse. The directors are Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, with a screenplay written by Jennifer Lee and Allison Moore. The voice cast includes Ariana DeBose, Chris Pine, Alan Tudyk, Angelique Cabral, Victor Garber, Natasha Rothwell, Jennifer Kumiyama, Harvey Guillén, Evan Peters, Ramy Youssef, and Jon Rudnitsky. Wish opened in theaters on November 22 and has a 95-minute runtime.

    Ariana DeBose joins cast of Westworld season 4

    HBO’s hit sci-fi series Westworld has added this year's Academy Award-winner for Best Supporting Actress, Ariana DeBose, to its cast for the upcoming fourth season. The series is returning after two years with Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, Aaron Paul, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, and Angela Sarafyan will return for the fourth season, and is set to premiere on 26 June, and will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in India.

    Kaya Scodelario joins cast of new space thriller

    Maze Runner star Kaya Scodelario has joined the cast of the new space thriller film Apteros. Directed by Edward Anderson, the film tells the tale of astronauts on a dangerous mission. Lance Reddick and Ben Hardy will have also been cast in the film.

    Apple TV+ announces cast of new drama series about Abraham Lincoln’s assassination

    The new Apple TV+ series titled, Manhunt, has added Hamish Linklater and  Lili Taylor to its cast. Linklater, who recently appeared in Mike Flannagan’s acclaimed Netflix horror series, Midnight Mass, will essay the role of former American President Abraham Lincoln, while Taylor will play the part of the former First Lady Mary Lincoln. The series will focus on the manhunt attempting to capture Abraham Lincoln’s assassin. 

    New Disney+ series casts  Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Hsu

    Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Hsu, who recently starred in the acclaimed film Everything Everywhere All at Once, will reunite for an upcoming Disney+ series American Born Chinese. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, director, Destin Daniel Cretton, will helm the action-comedy TV show based on Gene Luen Yang's graphic novel. The series stars Ben Wang in the lead as a teenager attempting to balance high school life and belonging to a household of immigrants. 

    Scream 6 announced  

    The sixth film of the popular Scream franchise is in the works. Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega will return for the film after appearing in 2022’s reboot titled Scream. The new film will be a direct sequel to the 2022 film, which introduced new characters who team up with original characters played by  Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette. 

    New action-thriller Breathe announces cast

    Stefon Bristol’s new action-thriller Breathe has announced its cast.  Academy Award-winners Jennifer Hudson and Common will be joined by Oscar-nominee Quvenzhané Wallis and Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich. Avatar star Sam Worthington is also in talks to join the cast. Bristol will direct the film based on a screenplay by Doug Simon. 

    Netflix/Marvel shows coming to Disney+ Hotstar 

    The hit Marvel shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Iron Fist, and The Defenders originally produced by Netflix, are moving to Disney+ Hotstar in India. After Disney+ reacquired the rights for the shows from Netflix, the hit superhero TV shows were supposed to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar earlier in March but the release was delayed in India. They will now stream on May 21 on Disney+ Hotstar.
