#6 Is Football Really the Greatest Game?

#6 Is Football Really the Greatest Game?

Two guys who don't watch football discuss football.

They say football is the greatest game ever. So our hosts decided to investigate this claim.

Is there anything about the nature of football that makes it so popular?

Is it about the physics of the game?  Or is it about the lack of tech? How about the economics of football?

How do people get interested in football? Is it the nature of it or the nurture by some relative?

Or maybe there is some intrinsic structural appeal that no other sport can match.

Lots of frameworks, lots of structure, unnecessary complications.

This is Life Math’s take on football.

THE HATEFUL MATES - Teammates who did not see eye to eye

THE HATEFUL MATES - Teammates who did not see eye to eye
In the light of rumours that Australian “Swish King” Ben Simmons is to be traded away from the Philadelphia 76ers essentially because he and Joel Embiid do not get along, the team dive into the annals to dig up all the dirt on team mates who hated each other. Discussed this week: two Aussie Cricketers who fought over the timing of a song, NFL players mates who got into fisticuffs at training, two EPL teammates who brawled on the pitch, an AFL star who got intimate with his vice captain’s better half, and an Argentine footballer who stole his teammate’s wife, family and playing aspirations.

FOR THE MONEY - Strangest Sponsorships in Sports

FOR THE MONEY - Strangest Sponsorships in Sports
In the light of the controversy over Telstra asking the NZ Warriors to drop Vodafone as their major sponsor (then backing away from the request), the team dig deep into the annals to find the weirdest sponsorships in sports. Discussed this week are an AFL Club that turned its back on tradition for a bag of lollies, a 90's alt rock group who invested in kids sports, an Italian football club sponsored by an oddly named jeans company, an English Premier League team sponsored by a business in their arch rival’s town, an Olympic Team sponsored by a comedian, a very adult stadium sponsor in the NBA and for some reason Nick does a story about something completely different.
