We Need Rescue From Death [Romans 05]

We Need Rescue From Death [Romans 05]

    Romans 1:24-2:1 // Tom Nelson

As thoughtful readers of the text, let’s remember that rabbi Paul who wrote the book of Romans writes from a coherent biblical worldview.  A worldview is an attempt to make coherent sense of our lives and the world. All worldviews are built on faith assumptions that cannot be absolutely proven with certainty whether they are atheistic, (there is no god), pantheistic (everything is god or a force), or theistic (There is a God, distinct from us.) Worldviews, we all have them–whether they are carefully thought through or not, all of us wrestle with life’s biggest questions and the most challenging experiences of our lives. Questions like where did we come from, is there meaning to our lives, what is wrong with the world, what about suffering and evil, and where are we heading? For Paul, the heart of the problem is the problem of the human heart. Since that fateful day long ago in the Garden of Eden, humans have chosen to embrace a lie, worshiping created things rather than the Creator. The big problem built off the big lie is that while we were created to worship God, we became idol worshippers rather than God worshippers.

The Nabal fool is a predator. If given the choice between a win-win or win-lose situation, they will choose win-lose every time. They prey on unsuspecting people. It is important to us to live in the reality that Predators exist. In this message we will answer the following questions about the Predatory Way fool... 1. What is the Predatory Way (Nabal) Fool? 2. What do we do if we are this type of fool? 3. How do I relate to this type of fool at home, or at church, or at work?

Should an Agnostic Jew Still Pray? with Rav Dovid'l Weinberg

Should an Agnostic Jew Still Pray? with Rav Dovid'l Weinberg

Why do Jews pray? Is the prayer experience valuable only to those who have devout faith? In this episode, Rav David Silverstein is joined by Rav Dovid'l Weinberg for a discussion about the underlying philosophy of traditional Jewish prayer.

Rabbi Dovid’l Weinberg is an educator, musician, and author. A rebbe at Yeshivat Orayta in the Old City of Yerushalayim, Rav Dovid'l is the author of Birth of the Spoken Word and is currently translating Rav Kook's Oros HaTorah (the first volume, released in December, can be found here). Rav Dovid’l and his wife, Rina, live in Ramot Bet with their three children.

What Does The Bible Say About Evolution?

What Does The Bible Say About Evolution?

In this episode Arnie and Fred discuss the general theory of Evolution. It is essentially a hypothesis that millions of years ago, without cause or reason lifeless matter came into existence, spontaneously, and over time developed into living organisms, which gradually and repeatedly transformed themselves from one kind into another, eventually having produced all living and extinct plants, fish, fowl, and animals, including man. Our discussion will note that the theory is atheistic and contrary to what God says in His word in every way. Tune in for about 30 minutes to our discussion and have your Bible handy to ensure we are teaching what the Bible says on this important subject.
