With Unending Love and Support, Anything is Attainable with Guest Author and Childbirth Attorney Gina Mundy

With Unending Love and Support, Anything is Attainable with Guest Author and Childbirth Attorney Gina Mundy

"My parents pushed me to do my best," say Gina. "They had high expectations all the way."  It didn't help Gina's cause that one of her teachers told her mother that "you could be an outstanding student if you tried." But in time the message paid off.

Now a proud mother of three and a Childbirth Attorney, Gina works full time as did her mother. It's that balance of working all day and time to spend with kids after school on the field, cheering them on from the sidelines.

Susan or Sue, "was the brains behind  the operation" says my guest about her mother working full time as the VP of "Champion Screw Machine Engineering" in Michigan.  Sue was also passionate about playing her guitar. She performed regularly at the Contemporary Services at their local church in addition to being a Sunday School Teacher.

One of the most significant messages Gina has learned from her mom is to be non-judgmental. "She always told me, the easiest thing you can do is talk behind someone's back," continues Mundy, "If you can't say it to their face, don't say it. My mother is by far, one of the most positive people I have ever met."

Gina's was also very close with her maternal grandmother, Sue's mom.  Grandmother and daughter had similar personalities and when ever the three grandkids went to spend time with their grandmother, she was sure to drop everything and loved spending every minute with them. Gina was so proud to have been asked to  deliver the eulogy at her grandmother's funeral service.

My guest's message comes from the heart and as a Childbirth Attorney, she wants couples to be prepared and aware of the nuances of a delivery room and the benefits of choosing the best doctors possible to help ensure  the delivery of a  healthy baby and a happy mother.

Gina's recent book is titled "A PARENT’S GUIDE TO A SAFER CHILDBIRTH- EXPECTING THE BEST:USING THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE  TO HELP YOU DELIVER A HEALTHY BABY.”

A childbirth attorney for over 20 years, Gina wants to give her readers the tools to prevent any accidents that may possible take place in the delivery room.

She delves into what happens during birth and trying to figure out from the delivery team  what exactly happened.   Her goal is to help parents prepare for child birth to make sure these mistakes and complications don't happen during the birth, so they can have a healthy baby and mother. She suggests that getting involved before birth can help save lives.

Mundy insists " the book isn't about about what can go wrong but making sure it all goes right."

    Be Prepared

    Be Prepared

As believers we have a common enemy. Our enemy is powerful, determined, and ruthless. His ultimate goal is to leave all mankind in ruin, separated from God. Listen as Pastor Jake dives into the story of 'The First Sin' in hopes we can better understand exactly what our enemy, Satan, looks for in order to tempt man. Because if we can better understand Satan and what he is looking for, then maybe we can be prepared.

#122: Survival Tips For Contentious IEP Meetings

#122: Survival Tips For Contentious IEP Meetings

Whether you are a seasoned professional, parent, or brand new to the field, IEP meetings are a reality when it comes to school based settings. With over 20 years of experience, I have 5 top tips to keep you positive, prepared, and confident no matter the tone of the meeting.

    1. Have your special education director or administrator present - Sometimes lawyers and advocates are going to attend the meeting, in that event, make sure you have support on your side beyond your building principal.
    2. Complete a robust assessment AND/OR be comfortable with most recent assessment - Check out my prior episode on assessments like the PFA, Rossetti, VB-Mapp, Communication Matrix, and more.
    3. Include baseline data - This demonstrates a need for a goal. Be specific with accuracy and dates to track goals and progress.
    4. Send a draft home for a review - I recommend a week prior, but every district is different. The parent needs a chance to review and give feedback with their home team, and then you have a chance to receive and consider that feedback prior to the meeting or be prepared to discuss more during the IEP.
    5. Be prepared, remain calm, be professional, and seek help - You deserve to be treated with respect and do not have to accept verbal abuse, even during difficult and contentious IEP meetings.

If you ever need extra support, whether you’re a parent or professional, I am here, and you can book a coaching call with me. Not every IEP meeting will be warm and fuzzy, but we can live in a world where we do not dread them!

Ep. 29 | Revelation to Guide Preparation with Stephanie Taylor

Meghan is joined this week by Stephanie Taylor to discuss keys to temporal preparation. Topics include:

    - Adjusting our Attitudes on Temporal Prep

She served a mission in Moscow Russia and received a degree from BYU in Communications and Public Relations. She spent many years working as a corporate sales and personal development trainer while she waited for the blessing of motherhood. She refers to this phase of her life as B.C (before children). She also earned a degree from the School of Hard Knocks during a 17-year journey with infertility. She was ultimately blessed to give birth to 3 living children, while losing 3 others along the way. Her children are by far her greatest accomplishment.

Stephanie’s life-long interest is studying and teaching the gospel. She was honored to be on faculty at BYU Education Week for 5 years speaking on infertility and varied gospel topics. Learning challenges within her family led her to get specialty education and licensing to work with Dyslexia and ADHD in private practice. She also teaches personal development workshops online with her partner and author of The Sultan’s Seven Secrets, Jeff Buehner

Preparedness has been a passion of Stephanie’s for the last 15 years. Her family lives on a hobby farm where they have learned various skills and principles associated with self-reliance. She takes seriously the scriptural promise that “... if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear.”

    Episode 147: Matthew Chapter 24

    Episode 147: Matthew Chapter 24
That is the theme of this chapter. However, the conspiracy theorist in me wants to figure out the details of the end of time, who, what where, and especially WHEN? But Jesus just gives us a you’ll know it when you see it answer and tells us to keep going and keep spreading the kingdom message. Keep going even when you just don’t feel like it. It’s that locker room pep talk when you’re down by 50 at half time, keep chipping away and we will win in the end, it’s going to be ugly, but stick with it. It’s the kind of speech that we all need even though we want to figure out if there is a rapture, who’s in and who’s out, and who is the big baddy antichrist, but Jesus tells us to keep going and keep looking and I’ll take care of the rest. So, we keep going and keep spreading the message of God’s kingdom until the end.
