How do you get more confidence? Where do you find it? How do you gain it? Where the heck does it come from?

In this episode, I share my own confidence journey, and some personal reflections on what it truly is and where it comes from.  Spoiler alert: It's not at the starting line.

Often, we find ourselves looking for confidence as the switch that turns us on,  get us going. But that's not how how it works at all. Confidence is not at the start – or really even at the finish. It arrives WHILE we're taking action. It's like tiny gifts that rain down to you from the sky, incentivizing you to keep going. Or, as I say in this episode, it's like the sweat that keeps you cool and collected as you climb the mountain.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts about confidence, and if any of the ideas in this episode struck you.

    Activity from this episode:
    - Stop for a moment and think of the word "confident."
    - Who comes to mind?
    - Is it someone who serves the world, who is motivated by their higher calling, or is it someone who wants others to serve them, to make themselves better than others?
    - Use this litmus test to determine if your definition of confidence is merging with arrogance.
    - Journal about your results. Who are 5 people whose inner confidence you would like to emulate?

Believe in your own inner light, no matter how nerdy it may be – with Joey Natale

Believe in your own inner light, no matter how nerdy it may be – with Joey Natale

How do you feel more confident in being yourself, no matter how goofy or different that person truly is? Joey Natale is here to help you improve your confidence, connections, and relationships while allowing your inner light to shine.

Joey and I met through the Speaker Slam competition I've been participating in. He and his speech caught my eye, and I was excited for him to come on the podcast to share his nerdy sorcery with all of us.

This conversation spans everything from reprogramming our minds to the importance of really celebrating our milestones to my terrible partner dancing skills. It's a fun ride that ends with one big call to action: Do more shit that scares you.

    Meet Joey Natale
Joey Natale is a coach, speaker, and rock climber, and cosplayer, who supports nerds everywhere to level up their personal and professional relationships.

Most of his clients/friends struggle with loneliness, scarcity mindsets, and a general ‘stuck’ feeling. All of them want to love themselves, be able to start not-awkward conversations and have meaningful relationships to share life with. Others just want to love themselves enough to begin reaching for that next step in their career or health!

Joey loves focusing on building confidence, social skills, and personal/professional relationships (that’s what he struggled with the most for years!) He's equipped with coaching certifications and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) techniques. If you’re ready to go a little crazy and try new things, he's also happily qualified to deliver meditation and hypnosis support.
