Teeru shares her experience learning about cancer at a very young age when a friend lost her mother to the disease. It was at that young age that she knew she wanted to help.

Fast forward she actually is helping!  Teeru is now in cancer research and has been for years.

We discuss some of the strides being made in the efforts to cure cancer and her other passion, jewelry.

Teeru was also exposed to jewelry design/sales by her mother when she was young and today she combines that passion with her continued efforts to help with cancer research.

With Bihani Jewelry she continues to donate a portion of sales to the American Cancer Society.

Hannah Florman is a fine jeweler specializing in custom diamond engagement rings and fine jewelry. Hannah is based in Boston, but works one on one with her global clientele who trusts her for her depth of knowledge, unique sense of style and her commitment to quality craftsmanship. 

She hasn't always been in the jewelry business, she actually has a law degree and worked with a law firm for a while when she found that wasn't a good fit!

Around the same time she was also shopping for engagement rings with her then boyfriend.  It was that experience that lead her to go into the jewelry/diamond industry.  She found that there weren't really any places around the Boston area to give her the experience she wanted and now gives to her clients. A more personal experience.

Stephanie is the founder/owner of Boston Diamond Company. In this episode she talks about her road to becoming one of very view women jewelry store owners, who would have thought!? After a few year stint in real estate, she went back to her passion, her love of jewelry and diamonds and opened her own store. She talks about growing up with a single mom that inspired her to go in the direction of jewelry. We also chat about the recent uptick in engagements, the types of rings that are popular now and what to look for in a diamond and jeweler!
