The Faculty (Justice for Josh Hartnett's 90's Haircut)

The Faculty (Justice for Josh Hartnett's 90's Haircut)

This week Zach and Sloane unwrap 1998's teen sci-fi horror film: The Faculty.  We find out chilling information about Zach (he went to a Jay Leno taping!) and we get a peek into his therapy journal (very upsetting!) Sloane makes it almost a full minute before discussing death and only 12 minutes before discussing pedophilia. The duo wonders if Elijah Wood would fuck the shit out of you or if he'd be a gentle lover. Sloane has a new business idea for Joey Fatone and the two talk gout.  Other topics this week include: bussy, 90's baby bangs, Lilith from Frasier's beautiful legs (we are looking respectfully), Josh Hartnett's incredible face and voice and body and everything (we are looking disrespectfully), and of course murder! All that and not much more on this week's Mummy Dearest!

Tom's Tips Podcast: S4E3 - After Hours with MagHub: Mortal Kombat, Brendan Fraser, and Release 10.3

Welcome back Jugheads! Today we are back with a new format, Tom's Tips Podcast: After Hours. To juggle family obligations, work tasks, and personal lives; host Tom Bellen and co-host Zach Gilbert decided it would be more entertaining for the listeners to record it in the evenings, with a nice beverage to keep them company.

Unfortunately, neither Tom nor Zach had a terrific drink, and this episode quickly went off the rails; however, you cannot say it's not enjoyable. Join Tom and Zach as they discuss MagHub Release 10.3 and upcoming 10.4, their April Fools' project, the new Adcellerant integration, and what's in the pipeline for MagHub.

Not to mention Tom and Zach's discussion about the Hollywood treasure, Brendan Fraser, and their thoughts on the new Mortal Kombat movie.

The Mummy (1999) with Andrew Ortiz (SuperYaki)

Jordan and Brooke are joined by Andrew Ortiz (SuperYaki) to talk 1999's mega hit, a movie that begs the question "what if you could kiss everyone on-screen?" There's hot people! There's practical effects! There's...a surprise climax ghost carriage? Jordan, Brooke and Andrew also discuss childhood viewing experiences, the revival of fun dumb blockbusters, and their deep love of Brendan Fraser.

    George of the Jungle

    George of the Jungle
This week, Jerrett catches Sam up on the culture that is George of the Jungle! This was a family favorite for Jerrett growing up, so listen to find out how well it held up for him over the years! We've got a new segment this week, What's Entertaining Us, where we chat about our standard entertainment preferences outside of our CCU watchings. And of course, everybody's favorite segment...Who's Hotter?! Follow the show on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/catchupculture/) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/catchupculture). Each week, Jerrett and Sam introduce each other to culture they missed out on. They had wildly different upbringings and often have opposite entertainment preferences. Sam was raised on SNL, Half Baked, and Beavis & Butthead, while Jerrett's more conservative household meant the usual Disney fare, westerns, and his favorite thing in the whole world, Star Wars. They've spent their 10 years together rewatching movies and binging TV shows, taking each other on a constant nostalgic ride to relive classic culture.

    Episode 17: The Mummy (1999)

    Episode 17: The Mummy (1999)

In this episode we learn that Amy’s definition of “horror movie” is “anything that has bugs in it,” as she chooses the 1999 decidedly NON-horror re-make of “The Mummy” for her scary movie. If you look real hard, you might see a smear of blood on Brendan Fraser’s shirt, so maybe something scary happened off-screen.

    Encino Man (1992)

    Encino Man (1992)
034 - This one is a real historical artefact, so to speak, and went by many names; Encino Man, California Man, or even El hombre de California, depending on where you are from. It's the film that made Brendan Fraser a superstar, but it's also the film responsible for introducing Pauly Shore to the world, in what would turn out to be a relatively short-term relationship. Similarly, the soundtrack facilitated an even shorter relationship with Right Said Fred. But what about the movie itself? Does it have the long term appeal that holds up today? Join us thaw out this 1992 time capsule and break it down for the new era.

    Episode 7 Alice Nutter

    Episode 7 Alice Nutter

Alice Nutter was our fantastic guest on Light on Leeds Episode 7...

She tells us about her Chumbawumba days and how she and the rest of the band squatted in a mill owner's daughter's house (until she remembered she owned it!) and much, much more.

I tell her how much I loved the FX series Trust that she was heavily involved in writing and she explains why it was not as successful as it could have been (and what a shame!).
