How to Connect with Your Soul

How to Connect with Your Soul

Everyone who has reached out for Xandra’s help seems to be longing for a home in the self - longing for the soul to guide them through life. They want to feel like they’re on the right path, like they’re doing the right thing. Does that resonate with you?

The soul gives us a very particular feeling, one that brings us a deep sense of nourishment, validation, and connection. When we spend so much time and energy searching for that feeling, we forget that what we’re searching for is right here inside of us – it’s within your soul.

So, how do we connect to our soul?

In this episode of Soul Essence, you’ll gain the insight you need to reconnect with your soul so you can be your own medicine. If you want to dive deeper into the love and validation you can create for yourself, listen in because you deserve it!

    Topics Discussed:
    ·      What it means to come home to yourself
    ·      The difference between the heart self and the soul self
    ·      How to use your heart to connect with your soul
    ·      One way you might be invalidating your worthiness for self-love without realizing it
    ·      The power of giving yourself breaks for self-love (without involving the ego)

“When you’re doing the work of spiritual path and coming home… guidance, connection, roots, all of that longing for greater fulfillment and ease and joy, you have to go right to the heart.” – Xandra Hawes

    Will Therapy Help Me?

Therapy is becoming trendy, but how do you know if it will help you? And how do you find the right person to work with?

In this episode of Soul Essence Center, Xandra Hawes dives into the step-by-step process to finding the right therapist, and breaks down what to look for and how to approach reaching out. She discusses the benefits of therapy and how it can help individuals who are struggling with various issues in their lives. The question "Will therapy help me?" is a common one that many people ask when considering therapy, and Xandra shares her insights on the topic.

Xandra begins the episode by talking about some common misconceptions about therapy, such as the idea that it is only for people with serious mental health issues. She explains that therapy can be helpful for anyone who is dealing with challenges or seeking personal growth, regardless of their diagnosis or symptoms.

Throughout the episode, Xandra emphasizes the importance of being inspired, and finding a therapist who is a good match for the individual's needs and preferences. She encourages listeners to take the time to research and interview potential therapists, and to trust their intuition when selecting someone to work with.

Xandra also openly discusses the behind-the-scenes details of what it's like from the therapist perspective when potential clients reach out for support. If you've been wanting to start therapy for a while, but don't know where to start or are scared to dip your toes in, this is the episode for you!

    Living Life as a Ritual

    Living Life as a Ritual

If you don’t often slow down and take in the present moment, you’ll end up looking back at your life wishing you were more present. So, how can we create time and space for slowing down and being more present? How can we live in more meaningful ways so that we don’t look back at our life with regret?

The answer you’re looking for lies in ritualism. Rituals create space for you to tune into yourself and your core essence, allowing you to come Home to the deeply connected energy within you.

In this episode of Soul Essence, Xandra highlights the importance of living your life as a ritual and shares different ways you can ritualize your life to bring more meaning, joy, and sacredness to your daily tasks.

If you’re craving a more fulfilling connection to yourself, or if you simply want to feel more energy and zest for life, this episode is for you!

    Topics Discussed:
    ·      Why are rituals so powerful?
    ·      What does it look like to live a ritualistic life?
    ·      Xandra’s morning ritual for grounding and setting intentions.
    ·      How to incorporate simple rituals into your daily life (without ceremonies or meditation).
    ·      Ritualizing food, driving, and more.

“Ritual, to me, in a way, means really coming Home, and home with a capital H. Home meaning the self; coming Home to that soulfulness, that energy inside of you, and realizing how deeply connected it is to everything else around you.” – Xandra Hawes

    Spiritual Materialism & Spiritual Bypassing

    Spiritual Materialism & Spiritual Bypassing

You don’t always have to work hard to experience healing, love, worthiness, peace, and safety.

Spirituality helps us to know deeply that we are worthy and lovable. However, during the spiritual journey, many people fall into the trap of spiritual bypassing and materialism. Because of the highly individualistic and consumeristic culture we live in, diving into our spirituality can be overwhelming and may lead to spiritual bypassing and/or spiritual materialism.

The good news is there are ways to overcome this!

In this episode of Soul Essence, Xandra explains the concept of "Spiritual Materialism" (coined by Chogyam Trungpa) as well as "Spiritual Bypassing" (coined by John Welwood). You’ll learn the difference between the two, how to know if you’re experiencing one or both, and how to overcome them.

As she untangles these topics, Xandra helps you find a way to honor your spiritual path through true embodiment and emotional connection, while bringing in deep wisdom and research made popular by author and researcher, Brené Brown.

    Topics Discussed:
    ·      What is spiritual materialism?
    ·      What is spiritual bypassing?
    ·      Signs and symptoms of spiritual bypassing and materialism.
    ·      The impactful role of the ego in spirituality.
    ·      Why do Americans lack spiritual connection?
    ·      How to honor your spirituality without feeling like you have to work so hard

Undercover Codependency: How to Recognize & Heal It

Undercover Codependency: How to Recognize & Heal It

We can’t help others if we can’t help ourselves. When we’re not embodying our truth and living life through love, we become codependent on other people to validate us.

When we love ourselves freely, believe in our self-worth, and feel certain about our spirit, we can ditch the codependency for good. Only then will we begin to emit a frequency that naturally brings healing to others. Pretty magical, right?

So, how do we overcome this undercover codependency and step into our spiritual certainty?

In this episode of Soul Essence, Xandra shares her personal experience with undercover codependency, shining light on the importance of aligning with your self-worth and honing your spiritual certainty.

    Topics Discussed:

    ·      What is codependency?
    ·      How to recognize undercover codependency
    ·      Xandra’s relationship with codependency
    ·      Why spiritual certainty is an important skill you need to fully align with your soul essence
    ·      How to heal from codependency and step into your spiritual certainty

“Spiritual certainty simply means knowing I am a spirit that has chosen this body, this vessel, to learn and evolve and grow in. When I disregard myself as a spirit, meaning I turn away from my own core of love, I push away from the truth of what I really am.”
    – Xandra Hawes

Self-Love Mini Series: Healing our Family Trauma

Self-Love Mini Series: Healing our Family Trauma

Many of us are afraid to look at our family systems and the different traumas we’ve experienced throughout our lives. When we investigate our family trauma, we may see where we were missed, ignored, rejected, or abused as a child. While that can feel scary, let’s choose love instead of fear.

“If we are unable to give love to ourselves consistently or we struggle often to feel enough, these difficulties are often linked to old invalidation stories that have been told to us or modeled to us by our family members.” – Xandra Hawes

By courageously looking at how your family has shaped you, you can lovingly acknowledge and heal your family trauma. You can find ways to let those stories go so you can create a new path that is built upon joy, peace, and radical self-love.

They challenge us to reframe our anger by seeing love for our enemies as an act of self-compassion. “It’s very hard to see love as a force, as a power rather than as a weakness, but that is its reality,” Salzberg says.

Sharon Salzberg is a meditation teacher and the cofounder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts. She is the co-author of “Love Your Enemies.” Her other books include “Lovingkindness: The Revolutionary Art of Happiness,” “Real Happiness: The Power of Meditation,” and “Real Happiness at Work: Meditations for Accomplishment, Achievement, and Peace.”

Robert Thurman is the president of the Tibet House U.S. and the co-author of “Love Your Enemies.” His latest book is “Man of Peace,” an illustrated biography of the Dalai Lama.
