Spring Craft Fair is Hopping Good Time!

Spring Craft Fair is Hopping Good Time!

It's a hop-hop-hopping time of year in the Elyria Schools as we gear up for the many activities and programs of spring. One of our favorite functions each year is the Special Olympics Craft and Vendor Fair at Elyria High School! It's an event truly designed for fun, family and friendship. Nearly 100 vendors will be there to showcase their crafts, homemade goodies and products. If you're looking for unique stuffers for Easter baskets--this is the place! You'll want to bring the kids, too, for the fair's annual Easter Egg Hunt, with more than 6,000 filled eggs and pictures with the Easter Bunny! There will also be musical entertainment and delicious concession treats to eat. All proceeds benefit the Elyria Special Olympics.
The Spring Craft and Vendor Fair is Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Elyria High School. Get caught up on all the details with our guests, Shari Goodsite and Andy Menner of the Elyria Special Olympics Committee.

It's a great day to be a Pioneer! Thanks for listening. Find Elyria Schools on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube!

Keep Nurturing Your Idea | Claire Landuyt, Owner of Chez Lapin

Keep Nurturing Your Idea | Claire Landuyt, Owner of Chez Lapin

During our conversation, Claire told the story of how she transitioned from theatre management to working for herself full time. She described how Chez Lapin evolved from a home-based Etsy shop to an established business with a full-fledged production facility.

Claire’s focus on eco-friendly and cruelty-free products is clearly an important part of her mission. Over the years, she has donated her time and a percentage of profits to several different rabbit rescue organizations. “Chez Lapin” is French for rabbit house, and the choice of name was inspired by Claire’s love for rabbits and French culture. I even got to meet her newly adopted companion and shop mascot, Tipsy, a cute little lionhead rabbit. Enjoy this episode!

    The Devil's Clock

SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING.

Dan's  first story to share this week revolves around a clock. While it might not sound so scary, it's actually terrifying. Could a clock be built as an occult object? Could it have some sort of demonic entity attached to it? Let's find out! Next, the story of a ton of UFO sightings coming from Italy in October of 1954. Could roughly 10,000 people have all seen the same UFOs at a football match? Lynze has some animal themed tales this week, which is kind of funny but not really. Her first story features a bunny, which is known to be a symbol of the underworld. What was this particular bunny up to? And then, her worst nightmare, frogs! What is going on with these frogs throwing themselves up against a window? Tune in and find out!

"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Episode Twenty-Nine - 26th March 1981 - Axe of the Apostles

Heartfelt apologies. Our Easter special is a week late. That's the last time we rely on Michael Rodd's maths to work out what date it's supposed to be...
But just like that Creme Egg you find down the back of the sofa, there's so much good stuff inside this episode that you can tuck in any time of the year and still enjoy yourself.
Listen on as Kieran Prendiville shows us his fancy chopper, Judith Hann necks some pills and catches some rays, Su Ingle grows a third hand after visiting Windscale, and the incomparable Michael Rodd blinds us all with his teeth and some truly miraculous mathematics.

If you enjoy the sights and sounds of a good vendor fair, you're going to love the Elyria Special Olympics Craft and Vendor Fair coming to Elyria High School on March 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our guests, Sharron Goodsite and Samantha Boneta, members of the Elyria Special Olympics fundraising committee, give us the skinny on this year's event. And, as guests peruse the table-top products, they will be entertained by Sharon's Signers and Singer/Songwriter Mike Brand. There's plenty of things to keep the little ones busy, too, with a visit from the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt! There's no cost for entry to the craft fair but donations will be accepted. Coversode #39 Armour For Those That Dream of Vulnerability

Coversode #39 Armour For Those That Dream of Vulnerability

It starts out intricately in this week's Coversode conversation with Alexis Devine. Early journeys through school takes her to places unseen and makes life a thing to be experienced. Time away can bring ingenuity as papers need to speak to knowledge gained and matters taken into her own hands allows survival of the mind. Which way does one turn as opportunity knocks? She reaches for creativity with understanding it's not always who ya know, but how much more you know in the void of nothing. She's here to take us on a twirl of the world as an educational incubator with her badass genius. We get into how industries of service can make you a master, being creative for creativities sake is fuel that can burn bright. Human connectivity is complex but worth all the messiness. Love is found in the depths of where we're willing and open to meeting ourselves. Does drive equate to the passion of the direction we're headed? Squirrels and coyotes come out of the woods to reveal an artist's beautiful resonance in entrepreneurial spirit. Enter Bunny the being who guides her onto the path of fur mama heaven, and communication with buttons allowing a convergence which turns into a potent connection. There's beauty and power in being to being interrelationship dynamics, critics be damned...honestly do better people. Moira Rose may need a wig named Devine lol. We close out with a power of all powers, so much to be banished. There's more to her and can be found by clicking on her places below:
