    FlowerPower: Fittest at 40!!

    FlowerPower: Fittest at 40!!

    FlowerPower: Fittest at 40!!

Welcome to the new spin-off inaugural episode!!

Goal! This show will be a bit different than the regular show…this will about a journey!

Why am I doing this? What’s my goal?

My goal is to be as fit as I’ve ever been in my life by the age of 40 years old, with the support of cannabis.

Measurable-s? My actions and routines…along with general strength measurables (endurance timing, strength gains, weights/bmi changes, etc).

    Why?

First and foremost, to prove to myself I can do this.

I want to leave something for my kids…documentation of more positive influence I’ve left in the world…energy, and good vibes that I’m tossing out there.

There is no action that is too small…they all count!

I Progressively have been fitter every 10 years…and I want to see how long I can keep that up.

    -I’m curious! :)

I also believe that if as a society we take time to focus on holistic health, we will thrive as a community and that positive energy has a ripple effect.

There’s buzz that “40 is the new 30,” and i want people to believe that they can be their best again mentally, emotionally, physically, etc.

I want to show my kids by example that this is possible, and for them to follow suit.

    How?

-This will be a documentation of my journey.

The main show will remain as is; but this show will include a lot of solo time along with interviews with others.

-I also plan to document more on the website and IG, blogging, so be on the lookout for those.

Topics to discuss? Quit a few!

    Nutrition

    Exercise

    Mental health

    Sleep

    Supplements/alternative therapy

    Environmental health

    Aging …sustainable aging!

    Relationships and social support

    MindBody connection

    Self-care and stress management

Overall feelings and closing statements on the start of this show

Super excited!! Pushing through boundaries and progressing is what life is about

I’m doing this in real-time…so feel free to jump on board with me along this journey

Cannabis will be a supporting actor, but not the main character…those will be the actions!

Why? Because this is how cannabis, in my opinion, is best utilized to optimize life…not when your getting blazed 24/7 beyond any actionable capability…but when you’re using cannabis as a supporting actor to assist you with progressing your life forward.

I’ve experienced this personally, so now I want to share more of that with you.

Look out for the first episode drop (same RSS Feed here, you don’t need to go anywhere)

….and also as always…Lmk what you think!!!

    Cannabis and Wake n’ Bake!

    Cannabis and Wake n’ Bake!

    Cannabis and Wake n’ Bake!

Good Morning! Welcome back! Thank you all for your support!

If you’ve been enjoying our content and want to support us, it’s easy! Really easy actually….just click that like button!!

THOUGHT!!!! If just for ONE episode…each of you that are listening decided to do that, it would be so impactful!

Remember..:Those likes get our information out to the world, and more people find out about the good word on cannabis…

But above all, THANK YOU joining us again this week, or if your first time, thank you for that also!

This topic is both fun AND important to imo.

What does it mean to “wake and bake” in cannabis?

The term "wake and bake" refers to the practice of consuming cannabis first thing in the morning.

This can be done by smoking, vaping, eating, or drinking cannabis products.

Some people choose to wake and bake because it helps them to start their day off on a positive note…they find that it helps them to focus, be more creative, and/or manage chronic pain.

Why are we talking about this today?

As are most of these topics, this one is personal for me!

FIRST AND FOREMOST…STARTING YOUR DAY RIGHT IS UBER IMPORTANT!!

Health and Safety: let’s make sure we practice this safely, so we don’t make a worse name for the event….you know?

    De-stigmatization and Education:

Let’s talk about this so we can share the good news of wake n bakes, and destigmatize it!

Responsible Use and Understanding: responsible, conscious use is key here…and if you don’t get that right routinely, then that’s when you become a stoner…

Cannabis and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Welcome back! Rate, subscribe, tell us what you like or what you want to see less of…thanks again!

Today we’re talking about a common form of anxiety that many of us have heard called “OCD” or obsessive compulsive disorder.

Why are we talking about this? Why is it important? A few reasons!

    • First, OCD is a very common disorder.
    • Second, OCD can be very difficult to live with.
    • Third, there is a lot of stigma associated with OCD.
    • Finally, there is a lack of awareness about OCD.

So let’s help with some of that today, shall we?!

We need to talk more about OCD so that we can raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with it.

    • We also need to make sure that people with OCD have access to the treatment they need (i.e.- Cannabis?!).
    • By simply talking more about OCD and having this discussion, we can help to improve the lives of millions of people.

Let's discuss whole flower vaping, it’s many benefits, and why you may want to consider it as your method of consumption.

    Personally:

I love the feel of whole flower vaping!

“Holistic” feel good, feel! It’s my go-to first thing in the morning.

I also love that I can mix and customize my session, and I can determine how much or little vapor I get

It hits immediately, and when done right, it doesn’t harm your body like smoking can (doesn’t smell as bad either)

*Devices: I use the exxus vape and the Dynavap; I’ve used the crafty/mighty, and would love to get the volcano eventually!

Episode 67: Catching Up with Armen

This week we check back in with Armen Paronyan, CEO of LA Cannabis to talk about the present state of legal cannabis in California. Armen is a board member of the United Cannabis Business Association here in Southern California and we discuss his dealings with state legislators regarding issues of cannabis tax, regulation, and licensing.

We find out about various bills proposed to make cannabis tax laws less onerous and fairer. We discover where the industry is currently, and where it’s headed, as well as the future of cannabis nationally. The discussion includes what can be done about California’s onerous Metric system of tagging plants with hundreds of thousands of plastic RFID tags. We talk about AB 1111 and the proposal for cannabis farmers’ markets.

Navigating a Medical Cannabis Career Amid Recreational Legalization

As recreational marijuana is readied to be legalized in Maryland come July, there will still be a demand for medical cannabis. Catrena Almonte, MS ’21, is a graduate from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics program housed at the Universities at Shady Grove, and she is preparing for the next steps in her cannabis career as laws continue to change. Almonte describes how her experience in the military as a chaplain candidate led her to studying medical cannabis. Almonte shares why there will still be a need for medical cannabis in light of recreational marijuana’s availability, and how she wants to combine her research on cannabis with clinical psychology and clinical psychopharmacology.

Listen more about the legal and public health impact of the upcoming July 1 legalization of recreational marijuana in Maryland on Virtual Face to Face featuring Leah Sera, PharmD, MA, BCPS, associate professor and co-director of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s first-in-the-nation MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics program, and Mathew Swinburne, JD, research associate with the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, who has worked closely with legislative committees crafting Maryland’s cannabis legislation.

Welcome to feminized, today I’m excited chat with The Successful Canna-preneur,  JM Balbuena. She’s a San Diego-based author, filmmaker, advocate, and entrepreneur focused on empowering aspiring leaders in the rapidly growing legal cannabis space.

Navy veteran JM was born in the Dominican Republic and came to America at the age of 13. JM received a Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal for her dedicated service as Aviation Electronics Tech in the United States Navy between 2010 to 2014. While serving in the military, JM suffered an accident, and upon leaving the service the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from that accident disrupted JM’s sleeping and eating habits. JM also experienced chronic headaches and back pain. All of which led to anxiety and depression. Thank GOD JM was introduced to cannabis as medicine and credits cannabis with saving her life — helping JM regulate sleep, eating, and managing physical and mental pain.

If you have ever felt like you have barriers to success, tap into JM’s story, it will make you look at your struggles in a different light and inspire you to keep reaching for your dreams despite the odds, TRUST. This week we visit Rancho Verde Farms close to harvest and talk with my old friend Peter G. Out on the California coastal plains, Peter G has a medical grow at Rancho Verde Farm, where the it gets sun all day from sunrise to sunset. We take a stroll with Peter through the garden and learn some of his clever growing techniques.

Peter has been a friend of mine for 44 years. We were in an avant-garde band called The Dadas in the late ‘70’s and in recent years he has been a mentor to me, helping me with my grow and sharing his knowledge, expertise and techniques of growing high quality, healthy cannabis. Peter is a drummer and after the garden visit, we composed a small duet for drums and melodica, of which several clips are interspersed in this episode. This is a fun episode to watch if just to watch us circle the garden and uncover gems of knowledge while checking out Peter’s grow. Not to mention the musical repartee between us. Just two (too) high OG’s in the garden and jamming! Check it out!

Also included at the end of the episode is the only known clip of The Dadas performing Pete the Pet Shampooer
