S4 E3: Richard Hammond: What it’s really like to face death and how it changed me

Richard Hammond is best known as one of the presenters of Top Gear - one of the most commercially successful ever BBC shows, which was watched by more than 350 million people across the world. Along with Jeremy Clarkson and James May they presented the show from 2002 until 2015, and since 2016 presented The Grand Tour for Amazon. 18 years ago, Richard severely injured his brain after a high-speed jet-powered car he was piloting crashed at 319 mph. He was put in a coma for two weeks. In this episode, we talk about what he experienced when faced with death and how he has recovered. Now he’s on a mission to destigmatise conversations around masculinity and mental health with his brand new podcast Who We Are Now, which has launched on Global Player.
