S2//E5: HOW TO START a CAREER in Nutrition & Wellness with Rebel Roots Nutrition

S2//E5: HOW TO START a CAREER in Nutrition & Wellness with Rebel Roots Nutrition

Well, it's often said you should learn from the best, following the path of the SUCCESSFUL FEMALE entrepreneur, and I have the perfect podcast guest for you today!

Carla Abate from REBEL ROOTS NUTRITION is a Nutrition Therapy Master board certified in holistic nutrition (BCHN), BA in Psychology from Naropa University, Master's in Counseling from the University of Phoenix, Postpartum Doula Certification through CAPPA https://www.instagram.com/naropau/
    https://www.instagram.com/ntischool/

The path to HOLISTIC NUTRITION for Carla came the way it often does for so many practitioners in the WELLNESS FIELD, as a result of her own health journey and skepticism around the adequacy of the standard medical model to address her concerns. The rebel in her business name Rebel Roots implies this questioning of the status quo and conventional medical paradigm which often fails us by ignoring the role of nutrition altogether. Sometimes we just have to lean into our inner rebel and push the boundaries when something does not add up or make sense. We need to become our own advocates, do the research ourselves, and challenge the established "norms."

Now, I want you to listen in about halfway through the episode where we discuss the strategy of GETTING STARTED SOONER with your new CAREER journey. No matter the path, try a beta test method, and share the idea with a few friends and family members, 6 months to a year will go by no matter what - utilize that time to try out the idea that keeps coming back to you!

We also discuss saying "YES" more to things within your career scope. This opens up new pathways so you don't get STUCK in the same patterns of thinking! Follow your path of INTUITION.

    Topics covered:

    • Saying Yes to more
    • The importance of networking
    • Getting started sooner in your career journey!
    • Marketing your business

Carla shares MARKETING tips that she uses in her business to make it a thriving business model.

S2//E3: CAREER steps to become a SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERT helping WELLNESS BRANDS with Gina Oliver

S2//E3: CAREER steps to become a SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERT helping WELLNESS BRANDS with Gina Oliver

    Hello, friends!

This EPISODE is jam-packed with valuable insights!!

Gina Oliver is a former 3rd grade teacher turned nomadic entrepreneur. As the co-founder of Wave Enterprise Co, she helps FEMALE-OWNED WELLNESS brands elevate and share their message online. Drop by and say hi to her on Linkedin or Instagram!

Why I love this episode so much on CAREER TRANSITIONS...

Gina shares that it is important to try things that scare you, even if you choose just one scary goal for the year.  Sometimes you need to take a step even though it may not be your dream step, but take a step to get to the dream.  This includes saying "yes" to things you may not typically want to do when it pertains to making a career transition.

The one other nugget of insight on today's episode is when Gina talked about researching grants for women when seeking to fund a new business, What a great reminder for us all!

A Career by design for the 4th Industrial revolution

A Career by design for the 4th Industrial revolution

In this podcast episode, we hear from Fabiana, a career consultant who has been advising people around her about career growth all her life. She recently realized that this was a talent and started thinking about designing her own career the way she wanted it. She is a career consultant more oriented to action and likes to jump in as a second brain but bringing her heart into the equation. Passion has been leading Fabiana's professional journey, and she is interested in helping people reposition themselves in the job market or industries.

Fabiana is passionate about the future of work and has been experimenting and learning about the intersectionality. She started working in career strategy pro bono to gain insights and interest in helping herself and others repositioning in the complete job market or industries. She is particularly interested in helping people reskill to thrive and compete in the work arena.

Fabiana explains that the way we work is changing, and the quicker we adapt, the better we will ride the wave of transition. She advises that we should work on our clarity, strategies, and implement actions. We should start with goals, know our strengths, and gather feedback from people around us. Our careers should be defined by our values and our strengths, and our professions should not be our identity.

Fabiana concludes by advising that we should be patient and enjoy the journey, and we don't get instant gratification.

S3 | E8 Advice on boundaries and communication (Video 8 of my course)

S3 | E8 Advice on boundaries and communication (Video 8 of my course)

Audio of my free sample course video from my personal development course 'Life Unlimited: Ten Steps to Real Change' available on my website at https://www.thistrustedplace.co.uk/life-unlimited

The course features 10 more half hour videos on subjects like relationships with others, creative imagination and getting to know yourself fully, along with course slides and various exercises.

The theory is based on compassion focussed therapy and the threat/reward/connection model I based my book, 'Finding a Balanced Connection', on. Threat is our survival part and so the place of fear, anger, hatred etc, reward is the drives and motivations part of us (food, sex, money, status, competing for resources and is therefore place of addictions and dependencies) and our connection part is the place of friendship, affiliation, contentment and love for self and others.
