Thank you so much for listening to a podcast today as we talk about guilt and shame and how difficult that is to speak about within the context of a religious setting or within certain Churches, referencing the book of Romans c8 v1 “There is now no condemnation for those are in Christ Jesus” - learning how to leave the guilt and shame at the cross of Calvary handing it all over to Jesus Christ. It’s easy to say but what are the practical ways that we can do this?

60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday Drop Your Shoulders - Drop Your Burdens

60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday Drop Your Shoulders - Drop Your Burdens

Hello to you listening in Mason, Wisconsin!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Walking home around Holmes Harbor I stopped to look out at the still water, boats at anchor, an eagle soaring the updrafts, not a cloud in the sky. Taking in a deep breath I found that my shoulders had bunched up around my ears with all I had been carrying.

My silly human ways reminded me of a story about a team of pack animals struggling their way up a mountainside. The last pony in line was wearing just a saddle but the horse ahead of him was burdened with boxes and bags and baskets. The pony said: Hey brother, that’s a heavy load you’re carrying! The pack horse turned it’s head and asked: What load?

Like that pack horse we get used to carrying so much we don’t even realize it.

Practical Tip: Stop. Right here. Right now. Drop your shoulders. Breath deep. Smile to your shoulders. Thank them for what they’ve been carrying for you. Tell them that in the future you will take care to burden them less. Feel them smiling back at you.

    It is okay to change.

    It is okay to change.

If you're someone like me who is a multi-passionate creator, there is a message in this episode for you.

I wish this was something I had heard or considered sooner than this. That it is okay to change. It is okay to love something, and then fall out of love with it.

If you've ever changed something in your life, or started something new, but felt guilt or loss over that decision. Or felt sad about what you left behind when you chose to pursue that new thing.

I want to let you know that this is okay.

It's okay to feel all of those things, but it's also okay to let those feelings go. It's okay to set them down. It's okay to leave them behind. Those feelings were there to let you know that something has ended.

Thank the thing that brought you joy for getting you where you are today. Say goodbye, and step into the next great thing with light and free and open arms that are ready to take in all of the new exciting things coming your way.

    IN THIS EPISODE

    • Examine what's in your backpack.
      • Look at the contents.
      • Are you still holding onto things that served you long ago that aren't serving you anymore?
      • What expectations, fears, guilt, thoughts are you holding onto?
      • If you don't need them anymore, put them down.

    Carrying Christ

    Carrying Christ
In this episode, Pastor Chris Kipp looks at Mary and the virgin birth and teaches on how God works in our lives. It all culminates into a closing question, "What are you carrying?" [Scripture: Luke 1:26-38] This is the first in a Christmas series entitled, "Do You See What I See?" www.ren-church.org #alloflifealltheearth

Ep. 297: Can You Hold This For Me? Plus, Judy Greer!

Ep. 297: Can You Hold This For Me? Plus, Judy Greer!

Biz and Theresa get stuck holding the bag…and the water bottles, and the half eaten sandwich, and the “art” and the toddler. Where in all those parenting books did it warn us that there would be so much carrying? Perhaps it's less about the stuff and more about feeling like a haggard and broken coat rack left outside? Yeah, probably. Plus, Biz does not know, Theresa gets a clue, and we are beyond psyched to have Judy Greer (Married, Archer, Let's Go Luna!, Ask the StoryBots, and soooo many more) on the show this week, talking about being a step-mom and so much more.
