Copy of 60 Seconds For Thoughts on Thursday: Who Did We Come Here to Be?

Hello to you listening in Wood Green, London, England!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

As the story goes the likelihood of any one of us being conceived is like that of a sea turtle swimming in the ocean and rising to the surface once every one hundred years and putting her head through a loop of seaweed floating there.

Whether Life is chance or destiny we come with purpose. This from Clarissa Pinkola Estes:

    "We do not become healers.

We came as healers. We are.

Some of us are still catching up to what we are.

    We do not become storytellers.

We came as carriers of the stories

we and our ancestors actually lived. We are.

Some of us are still catching up to what we are.

We do not become artists. We came as artists. We are.

Some of us are still catching up to what we are.

We do not become writers.. dancers.. musicians.. helpers.. peacemakers. We came as such. We are.

Some of us are still catching up to what we are.

We do not learn to love in this sense.

    We came as Love.

    We are Love.

Some of us are still catching up to who we truly are."

    DAVE SCHWARTZ

    DAVE SCHWARTZ

Kirk's former coach and lifetime mentor Dave Schwartz has just been inducted into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame (MHSCA Class of 2021). Recorded at Garber High School, the fabled player-coach relationship is still obvious in this wonderful discussion that's more about life than it is football. Dave opens up about his hurdles and triumphs over a lifetime committed to coaching, all while still exuding the community pride he's become synonymous with in Essexville, MI, where he has called home for more than 20 years. Mix in some laughs and a whole lotta coach-speak, and this is an episode for the ages. Special tributes from former players are sprinkled in for maximum sentimentality.

Dave agreed to join the podcast under one condition: that he'd be able to plug the 2021 Duke Open Charity Golf Tournament (Aug 21, 2021):
