    Interview with Sam Merton

    Interview with Sam Merton

    HO
    LE
    SHIT

I honestly don't even know what to say about my conversation with Sam "Sammy Jo" Merton.
Nor do I think I have words adequate enough to describe her.
Sam is a goddamn force of nature.
    Like a tornado...
    With deltoids. ..
    And glutes made of iron.
But she's not just your regular run-of-the-mill fitness enthusiast or gym rat.
    Not even a little.
Sam is, first and foremost, a survivor.
And I don't mean that as some romantic metaphor.
The paramedics found her unconscious in a pool of her own blood. The victim of domestic abuse.
See, Sam wasn't always the confident badass she is now. Once upon a time, she was a morbidly obese kid with severe self esteem and self worth issues.
A childhood spent  numbing pain with food and eventually alcohol and drugs.
In and out of programs and bad relationships, she eventually ended up beaten half to death. Physically and emotionally.
But she survived. Because that's what she does.
She didn't give up because she doesn't know how.
Her story is not glamorous. It's fucking brutal.
But it's honest. It's real. And so is Sam.
And if her story doesn't move you, you might want to check yourself for a pulse.

This is a no shit, pull no punches, warts and all conversation and I promise, you do not want to miss it.

Thank you Sam for allowing me to help tell your story.

    Interview with Dave Dahl

    Interview with Dave Dahl

    Dave Dahl.
In his own words, "misfit", "worthless", "loser".

Dave is a lot of things.
He's an ex-con, having collectively spent over 15 years in prison.
He's an ex-drug addict. Getting hooked on methamphetamines in his 20's.
He's an ex-criminal. He's been homeless. Fought crushing bouts of depression, struggled with bipolar disorder, and survived the darkest suicidal ideations.

But make no mistake, Dave Dahl is not a loser.
Not even if he tells you he is.

Dave is a lot of things.
    Musician. Successful businessman. Visionary entrepreneur.
He's the creator and co-founder of Dave's Killer Breads.
    Yes, THAT Dave's Killer Breads.
The one you see on your supermarket shelves.
The logo of the guy with giant biceps holding a guitar.
    That's Dave.
And his "rags-to-riches" story is anything but cliche.

His journey from living on the streets to owning a penthouse is one he's told a thousand times.
And will likely tell a thousand more.
But it's his dedication to helping others...his commitment to reaching the people society has a tendency of leaving behind, that reveals his true legacy.
That is who Dave Dahl really is.

And I'm grateful to be able to share his story with you.

    Interview with Mark Hooper

    Interview with Mark Hooper

    Ladies and Gentleman, introducing.....

    The Appalachian Alchemist.
     The Tipsy Taverner.
     The Crafty Chronicler.
     The Rock-n-Roll Raconteur
     The Hot Rod HulaBilly himself.
My friend and now yours, Mark Hooper.

Mark and I go way back. A more genuine, earnest and affable guy you’re not likely to meet.
He’s a rare breed. Campy yet charming. Engaging yet composed.
A puzzling mixture of cornpone demeanor and cosmopolitan delivery.
Mark is one of those people you’re lucky to know and blessed never to forget.
And I think it’s time you got to know him good and proper.

We had a topic we meant to cover, but no worries my friends, we’ll get to that next time.
Right now, take your shoes off, put your feet up, get yourself a warm plate of biscuits and gravy and sit right back and you’ll hear a tale or two. Spun straight out of the Ozarks and right into your heart.

     Here is, Mark Hooper.

    Catching Up

    Catching Up

    Guess who's back???
    That's right, it's Dr. Thomas Coleman - C.O.L.E.M.A.N.
Straight off the operating table and into your hearts.
You'll be happy to know that his/her gender reassignment surgery was a complete success.
    He's now 37% more masculine.
Which is pretty goddamn impressive considering he used to cry tears of pure Sriracha before this.
All meat, no potatoes, Tom is back in his co-hosting chair and we're catching up.
Tune in and find out what's been going on.
How we're both doing. And what the hell is up with the McRib sandwich anyway??

    Habits

    Habits

    Habits man....fucking habits.
    We've all got em'.
Some good...some bad...some you wanna hug and squeeze...some you wanna put in a sack and throw into the ocean.
    Let's talk about them all.
Identify the positive habits while acknowledging the negative ones.
Chose to accept or learn how to course correct.
    It's all up to you.

    MIKE-RO ( Micro ) Episode 1: An Intro and a Recap

    MIKE-RO ( Micro ) Episode 1: An Intro and a Recap

Michael Vee here. Co-Host of The Radical Humanist.
I had this crazy idea that I would occasionally take some time and fill in a few of the blanks, in-between the main episodes.

    Kind of like Mini episodes.
…or as I like to call them, MIKE-RO episodes.
     ….get it…cos it’s just me…and my name is Michael.
     Michael…Mike….Mike-Ro episodes…Hahahahhahahahahahaaaaa...oh man, that's good shit.
Anyway, for my very first MIKE-RO episode, I thought I would try to recap just what the hell it is that Tom and I are doing here.
I know...I know...we did this on our first episode, but let's be honest, didn't leave anyone feeling warm and fuzzy.
Most likely you were confused and felt dirty.
So this is a quick, second take. With some gratuitous nudity thrown in for good measure.
Thankfully it's a podcast, so you'll just have to use your imagination.
