How to make your affirmations work for you

How to make your affirmations work for you

Can one, single question really change the trajectory of your life?

Yes, I believe it's true, and that the antidote to our ego-based problems is the loving curiosity invoked by the question, "What if...?"

In this episode, we explore the concept that your own curiosity is the medicine you're looking for, shedding light on the ethos of creativity that binds together artists, scientists, and innovators: the power of inquiry.

I invite you to let go of the ego's craving for certainty and dissect the traditional dichotomy of right and wrong, uncovering how curiosity is the cornerstone of unlocking our full creative and magical potential.

This is a call to awaken your dormant potential, to stir the very essence of your creative spirit, and to recognize that by igniting this internal flame, the impact transcends beyond the self.

When we foster a mindset that values exploration and questions over ego, the doors to limitless possibilities swing wide open. Tune in to transform your perspective and supercharge your inner brilliance—because it's time we all started asking more questions and caring less about the comfort of being right.

This is a Thursday Thread episode calling back to Ania Halama's episode on Tuesday, and we end on a moment of breath to call in possibility through the power of inquiry.

    Shoe Dog | Phil Knight

    Shoe Dog | Phil Knight

In this episode of the Books for Men podcast, host Douglas Vigliotti discusses the memoir Shoe Dog by Phil Knight, the creator of Nike. The book covers the period from 1962 to 1980 and tells the story of how Knight turned a small idea into a multi-million-dollar company. Vigliotti praises the book for exemplifying the American Dream and discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the American ethos. He also addressed his initial hesitancy to read celebrity memoirs but ultimately found Shoe Dog to be well-written and compelling. The book is recommended for artists, creators, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in the backstory of Nike. Vigliotti concludes by emphasizing the importance of finding the good in difficult situations, then encourages listeners to share the podcast to support the show, and reminds listeners they can connect with him on Instagram @douglasvigliotti.

Guest Bio - Evan Cory began his professional beach volleyball career in 2020 after graduating as an All-American from Lincoln Memorial University. During his first year in 2020, events were hampered by the COVID-19 outbreak, nevertheless, Evan raised his national ranking from 247 to 97 with limited opportunities in tournaments. In 2021, his true rookie year on the AVP, he won 3 of the 4 AVP Next Gold Events across the country and qualified for 2 of the 3 AVP main draws. He finished with a career-high 9th in the largest tournament in the United States, the Manhattan Beach Open. Evan once again raised his ranking drastically in 2021, as he went from being a fringe top 100 player to being a top 30 player on the AVP Tour. Outside of the statistics, Evan is recognizable by his blue nose and fiery attitude which is quickly making him a favorite amongst fans. During the offseason, Evan has gotten plenty of extra opportunities to interact with fans across the country, as he has participated in many volleyball camps and trips which include the Better at Beach Volleyball Camps, South of the Border Vacations, and Volleyball Vacations.
