S3 E8 | Sarah Renae Clark, the creator building a coloring empire
Today’s guest is Sarah Renae Clark. Unlike many creators, Sarah started off as an entrepreneur and turned to video content to grow her art business. Today she has over 175k subscribers on YouTube and is just getting started. She continuously looks for ways to get better as a creator. It could be learning new editing skills, flying to creator events worldwide to meet other creators or building a strong team around her. This year she created a new product called the Color Cube, which sold over 10,000 units. This is the beginning of a very successful creator career!
As always, before we get to the episode, here are three things about Sarah that you should know:
- Sarah started creating coloring books while on maternity leave as a way to keep herself and other mothers busy
- Her husband is her operations, finance and editing manager — they're a dynamic duo
- She’s born, raised and still lives in Melbourne, Australia — being a creator really is a global business

#135: When Your Brand Goes Viral with Danielle Murrell Cox of Zuri and Dre
What happens after you go viral? How do you go viral in the first place? There is no perfect formula to make something go viral on social media, but there are things you can do to make it more likely. Today’s guest had a viral post on social media that opened up opportunities for a book deal and a line of plush toys.
Today’s guest is Danielle Murrell Cox. She self-published an uplifting coloring book called Black Queens & Kings. She then went viral on social media which led to a publishing deal with Harper Collins for her next book, My Hair. Then she created the plush toy line Zuri and Dre, based on the characters from Black Queens & Kings. Danielle based her characters on people in her family and community, and really put “the puzzle of you” into her ideas.
In today’s episode you will learn what factors led to Danielle going viral, and what happened afterwards. You’ll also hear about the personal experiences that led Danielle to create her characters with wide noses and natural hair styles. Finally, you will find out some amazing tips for how to progress in your business when you’re not sure what to do next, like going to trade shows, getting on top of your e-mail marketing, and creating a Kickstarter campaign for a new project.

Episode 201: Drinks (But No Texting) While You Watch At The Alamo Drafthouse
Today on The Speakeasy, we're joined in the studio by Vanessa Brown and Vincent Favella.
Vincent is one of host Sother Teague's oldest friends in the city of New York, while Vanessa Brown has the sweet job title of "director of fun" over at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (and okay, Vincent works there too).
The theater chain invites viewers to order food and drink from stealthy waiters while they watch anything from the latest comedy to indie classics. That doesn't mean they tolerate any texting, but even if you get kicked out, there's always the bar.
Episode 226 Side A: Chance The Rapper's 'Coloring Book'
Armond & Doc return to go in-depth on Chance The Rapper's new mixtape 'Coloring Book' in true Clock Radio Speakers fashion. Is "Blessings" a CHH song? Does the mixtape live up to the hype? Is 2 Chainz rapping off-beat on purpose? Is the sequencing of the album good or bad? All that and more.
