Road House (1989)/Old Forester SIngle Barrel Seven Grand pick and more!
This week Chris joins me to try out a new Old Forester single barrel pick he won in a raffle at Seven grand and to discuss a movie that he's been pushing to cover on the show, "Road House". Not only do we have a good time chatting about this crazy film but we get into a conversation about more whiskey and Steven Seagal movies. This episode is all over the place. I also tried an experiement recording on one iphone and using Adobes new AI audio enhancement to see how well it performs. Part way through the episode I switch back to the phone audio so this will sound a little different than normal. let us know what you think. Cheers!

Give to ROBERT's GO FUND ME: Robert's Go Fund Me

Robert Treat was born in Anchorage, Alaska in 1969 and adopted at birth by an oil driller and his wife moving to Malta when he was a week old. He spent most of his childhood traveling all over the world living in Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Norway, Trinidad, Borneo, Scotland and several other countries. Robert left high school at age 17 and immediately enlisted in the Marine Corps. Prior to leaving for basic training his recruitment was transferred to the United States Navy due to extremely high testing scores. He was initially trained as an Operations Specialist and later went on to become an instructor for Anti-Submarine Warfare specializing in Target Motion Analysis. Following Robert’s short career in the Navy, he went on to work in the private sector as a contractor for several government Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies. He was contracted to many Special Access Programs specializing primarily in Project and Finance Management. While in this role he managed projects relating to Space Based Electronics and Armor Systems, Genetic Engineering, Social Engineering and Psychological Operations along with several other “Dark Programs”. Robert cites his most interesting role as working as an undercover operator within an undisclosed “illuminate” order and serving as their Assistant Minister of Finance. While in this role he enjoyed the trust and confidences of many of the world's most secretive elites and had first hand access to many of their agendas and goals. Robert retired from this life in 2015 and settled into a quiet life as a regular citizen and in 2018 he opened a small bar in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. The rise of COVID in 2019 brought with it reminiscences of some of the more frightening and insidious elements of the projects he participated in throughout his career.

In 2020 Robert was diagnosed with a progressively terminal illness and made the decision to disclose his knowledge and contacted me to share this information. Learn more on Connie Willis: The Podcast at ConnieWillis.com

    41. Cooler Aging: Great Tasting Venison, Even in the Southern Heat
Unfortunately, a lot of southern hunters proudly serve their friends and families deer meet that is tough, chewy, bitter, or even bloody and metallic tasting. It is not appreciated, and can turn people away from venison and deer hunting.

Take proper care of your meat to ensure that it is delicious and tender. There are obvious many different methods, and some work better in different areas, and on different animals. In this episode, I describe my process of caring for meat and still letting it age and tenderize, even in the south where it is usually too warm to hang meat. When your meat is properly handled, aged, and stored the only challenge that remains is not overcooking it.

    Good luck this deer season!
