Ep. 95: Found North, The Whisky World's Juggernaut Canadian Craft Producer

In this episode of the Vint Podcast, Billy Galanko and Brady Weller dive into Canadian whisky with two brothers whose project, Found North, is the talk of the whisky world. We take a deep dive with founders Nick and Zach Taylor who together have built one of the most exciting new brands in North American whisky. We take a look into the differences between Canadian, American, and Scotch whiskies, and the guys give us the background on their inception, creative process, future vision, and perspective on where the Canadian whisky market is headed.

From the Found North website: "Our mission is to make profound Canadian whisky. Using our access to mature stocks from a variety of grains, we blend whiskies that meld the heritage of Canadian distilling with the creativity of the modern age."

If you want to learn more about Canadian whisky, and about the hugely popular Found North label, this is the place!

Devil's River Whiskey Head Distiller, Mike Cameron

Blair speaks with Mike Cameron, the Co-Founder, President and Head Distiller of Devil's River Whiskey from their new downtown San Antonio headquarters.  Mike shares his family's Kentucky heritage and how his love of distilled spirits was cultivated at a young age, which led him to co-found Rebecca Creek, then later follow his love of whiskey by founding Devil's River Whiskey.

It's no easy feat battling local liquor laws, a pandemic and changing people's whiskey buying habits, but Devil's River continues to grow in sales and notoriety while keeping special attention on being respectful to the environment and continuing to be innovative with new products like their 2020 launch of Devil's River Coffee Bourbon which won the Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
