Spring Craft Fair is Hopping Good Time!

It's a hop-hop-hopping time of year in the Elyria Schools as we gear up for the many activities and programs of spring. One of our favorite functions each year is the Special Olympics Craft and Vendor Fair at Elyria High School! It's an event truly designed for fun, family and friendship. Nearly 100 vendors will be there to showcase their crafts, homemade goodies and products. If you're looking for unique stuffers for Easter baskets--this is the place! You'll want to bring the kids, too, for the fair's annual Easter Egg Hunt, with more than 6,000 filled eggs and pictures with the Easter Bunny! There will also be musical entertainment and delicious concession treats to eat. All proceeds benefit the Elyria Special Olympics.
The Spring Craft and Vendor Fair is Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Elyria High School. Get caught up on all the details with our guests, Shari Goodsite and Andy Menner of the Elyria Special Olympics Committee.

The activities we do to relax, have fun, and express ourselves enrich our lives in countless ways, but they can also bury our living spaces in tools, materials, supplies, reading materials, and unfinished projects. In episode #182 of The Clutter Fairy Weekly, Gayle Goddard, professional organizer and owner of The Clutter Fairy in Houston, Texas, examines the stuff that accumulates from hobbies, arts, and crafts and offers strategies for keeping “crafty clutter” from spoiling our fun.

T is for Tot was founded by Meghan, a passionate kindergarten teacher, with the goal of making learning enjoyable for children ages 3-6.

T is for Tot’s carefully crafted subscription kits provide parents with a stress-free way to support their child's academic growth through fun, play-based activities.

Each T is for Tot Kit is designed to nurture a love for learning and ensure that your child is not only prepared for kindergarten but also set up for a lifetime of learning success.

Meghan Foster is a mom of 2 boys, taught kindergarten for close to a decade before starting T is for Tot, I have my master's degree in elementary education as well as a business degree.

T is for Tot kits are all-encompassing and delivered each month with everything included for play-based learning fun.

The goal of T is for Tot l is to make it easy for parents to give their child Pinterest-like activities, while teaching them in a developmentally appropriate way at the same time.

T is for Tot includes essential fundamentals in every kit, taught in a way that is fun and developmentally appropriate.

There's ample early childhood research that states the importance of starting learning early, and it needs to be a play-based approach that engages the child and leads the child to eventually be motivated in his/her own learning.

And, as guests peruse the table-top products, they will be entertained by Sharon's Signers and Singer/Songwriter Mike Brand. There's plenty of things to keep the little ones busy, too, with a visit from the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt! There's no cost for entry to the craft fair but donations will be accepted. Episode 17: New Year - New Sewing Goals

Episode 17: New Year - New Sewing Goals

Happy New Year! It is time to challenge ourselves and set goals for sewing in 2023. In this episode we share 10 questions to answer that help you reflect and prepare your mindset for setting goals in the new year. Answering these 10 questions helps put your priorities into perspective of things you want to do better or accomplish this year.

We talk about using the S.M.A.R.T. steps to help set achievable goals.
S.M.A.R.T. stands for: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant & Time Bound.

Once you have a SMART goal, write it down and find a friend to hold you accountable. 76% of people who write down their goals and provided weekly progress to a friend successfully achieved their goals. This result is 33% higher than those with unwritten goals. Use a word doc, spreadsheet or calendar to keep track of your goals and the activities you need to complete to reach your end goal.

    Episode 16: Old Ragdoll Cupboard

A little about Tiffany, Owner of Old Ragdoll Cupboard

I have been sewing since I was around 14 years old. I have created my dream sewing studio after years of working on a kitchen table or a corner of some room! I have been married for 25 years and have two incredible adult children! In September I adopted a little kitten named Olive which I absolutely adore! I love paddle boarding, estate sales and hiking outdoors!

Right now in my business I am having so much fun creating my new Tin Ragdoll’s! I search for old spice tins and other tins to make one-of-a-kind pieces of art! I am currently working on my Valentine’s Day line and a brand new line of vinyl stickers!

FAMILY FUN FRIDAYS: CELEBRATING SOLSTICE-SONGS, STORY, AND A CRAFT TO CELEBRATE THE LIGHT

FAMILY FUN FRIDAYS: CELEBRATING SOLSTICE-SONGS, STORY, AND A CRAFT TO CELEBRATE THE LIGHT

This Wednesday, December 21st, 2022 marks winter solstice. We celebrate the "rebirth of the sun" on this day!

So we want to share with you some ways to enjoy this family fun Friday! We have a classic song, two book recommendations, and an activity your kids will love!

You can sing this song to encourage play, just sit and sing or sing as you do your activity! It's a fun song and I have also just actually understood it now that I've learned why we celebrate.
You will also find two book recommendations. Taking a trip to your local library with your littles is a fun adventure for them, and you can also save a few bucks! Cuddle up on the couch or in bed and get in some bonding time with a story!
Then, we have a fun craft that your littles will definitely enjoy. We have some links below if you wanted to order the supplies. Your kids can use this craft and place it wherever they would like in the house and I am sure it will leave them feeling proud of themselves!

So tune in and we hope you enjoy it!

We love what she is doing and encourage you to sign up for her subscription or create an open space for diversity at home with these activities!
