Conversation with Senator Jim DeMint | Conservatives in the U.S. House of Representatives Prevailed in Robust Debate — For Accountability, Transparency and Fiscal Responsibility | Russia's Invasion of Ukraine
Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Senator Jim DeMint who shares his insights and thoughts on key issues that impact our fellow Americans. We are reviewing the robust debate in the U.S. House of Representatives whereby Republicans had an open conversation on increasing transparency around how legislation is put together. Through Senator Jim DeMint's leadership at Conservative Partnership Institute, the organization has called for principled measures to engage the broader membership in legislating and bringing accountability back to the People's House. The conversation is also focusing on America's $31 trillion debt-ceiling being maxed out and principled solutions on how to avoid a fiscal crisis through applying prudent and common-sense measures. The discussion on America's Roundtable with Senator Jim DeMint addresses the Ukraine-Russian conflict and what that means for America's security. Questions about accountability on how US taxpayer funds and military assets are being utilized in Ukraine is raised with the importance of advancing America's policy of "peace through strength," rather than engaging in endless wars. Episode 1: Trip 19

    Episode 1: Trip 19

It started with a plane crash. The tragic, mysterious crash of a commercial airliner in the summer of 1940 left a scene of devastation in rural Virginia -- and a series of unanswered questions. The cause of the crash was unclear. Among the dozens of people killed was a sitting U.S. senator. His presence on the flight and the strange circumstances surrounding the crash would end up revealing threats to American democracy itself.

A Conversation with US Senator Jim DeMint and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows | The Second Anniversary of the Abraham Accords | U.S. Economy — Inflation, Energy Prices and Rising Interest Rates | Crisis at the U.S. Southern Border
Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Former U.S. Senator Jim DeMint and Former White House Chief of Staff and Former US Congressman Mark Meadows on the vital issues impacting America and the world. The distinguished guests reflect on the second anniversary of the historic Abraham Accords and the opportunities to expand this principled initiative that is advancing peace and prosperity in the Middle East. On September 15, 2020, President Donald Trump hosted a historic signing ceremony for the Abraham Accords formally normalizing diplomatic relations between Israel and Arab states — the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Furthermore, this historic breakthrough led to the Kingdom of Morocco and Muslim majority nations Sudan and Kosovo to join the Abraham Accords. Europe's Kosovo established its first embassy in Israel locating it in Jerusalem, the Jewish state's capital city. The Abraham Accords refer to the agreements of diplomatic relations and full normalization between Israel and partner countries including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and Kosovo. The conversation with Senator DeMint and Congressman Meadows will provide listeners with an update on the U.S. economy with persisting inflation, rising interest rates by the Federal Reserve Bank, the immigration crisis impacting the nation and specifically border states, and the forthcoming mid-term elections in 2022. According to the Associated Press (https://apnews.com/article/inflation-mortgages-mortgage-rates-90d3b63fe4dd8b81d6765375d403cb8e), "Mortgage buyer Freddie Mac reported Thursday that the 30-year rate rose to 6.02% from 5.89% last week." The report showed that the average long-term U.S. mortgage rates climbed over 6% this week for the first time since the housing crash of 2008, and threatening to sideline even more homebuyers from a rapidly cooling housing market. This discussion will delve into how government policies affect families and the private sector, specifically small and medium size businesses. Brief bios Former US Senator Jim DeMint | Chairman, Conservative Partnership Institute (https://www.cpi.org/staff/jim-demint/) Jim DeMint has fought tirelessly for freedom, prosperity, and traditional American values against the Washington swamp for over two decades. Today, he leads and trains a new generation of conservative warriors as Chairman of the Conservative Partnership Institute. DeMint represented South Carolina in the U.S. House (1999-2005) and U.S. Senate (2005-2013). Known for policy innovation, he authored leading conservative reforms to health care, education, taxes, and entitlements. DeMint garnered national acclaim from conservatives for leading efforts to ban congressional earmarks, the source of billions of dollars of wasteful spending for decades which had led to corruption and widespread abuse. He also successfully led the fight to stop the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill in 2007. DeMint is also the Founder of the Senate Conservatives Fund, which played a major role in the election of many of the Senate’s leading conservatives like Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Tom Cotton. President Trump appointed DeMint to the White House Economic Advisory Board in 2020. DeMint’s latest book, They’re Lying to You, was a number 1# best seller on Amazon. Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows | Senior Partner, Conservative Partnership Institute (https://www.cpi.org/staff/mark-meadows/) President Trump called Mark Meadows “the guy who never stops working.” Mark’s work is that of a true public servant. From his days in the U.S. House of Representatives to his time as President Trump’s chief of staff to his current role as CPI’s Senior Partner, Mark has worked tirelessly to shift the focus from the desires of Washington politicians to the needs of the American people. Working with the House Freedom Caucus, which he co-founded in 2015, he helped strip key provisions of Obamacare as it crushed the American people with sky-high premiums and fewer healthcare choices. He helped pass the historic tax cuts of 2017. And he changed the dynamic of the Republican conference and helped oust then-House Speaker John Boehner. Mark and his fellow Freedom Caucus members would go on to successfully defend President Trump from the bogus Russia collusion attacks and impeachment. By the time he became chief of staff in 2020, Mark had already spent countless hours working with the 45th president to give the American people a seat at the table. Mark was President Trump’s gatekeeper and top advisor, steering the White House through one of the most tumultuous years in American history, as COVID-19 lockdowns, race riots, and other assertions of leftist power ripped through the country. When Mark left government service in January 2021, he wanted to keep up the fight. That made CPI his obvious landing spot. As senior partner, he helps lead CPI’s strategic initiatives on Capitol Hill, with other partner organizations, and with grassroots activists across the country. Mark also paved the way for other former Trump administration officials to join CPI’s staff and partner organizations. In December 2021, he released his book, “The Chief’s Chief,” about his time in the White House. https://ileaderssummit.org/services/americas-roundtable-radio/ https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 Twitter: @JimDeMint @MarkMeadows @supertalk @ileaderssummit @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. Conversation with Senator Jim DeMint | America's Economy | National Security Crisis at the U.S. Southern Border | Solutions to Advance US Energy Independence | Peace Through Strength
Join America's Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy for a conversation with Senator Jim DeMint, former US Senator and Chairman of Conservative Partnership Institute, a great American patriot and principled leader focusing on the vital issues impacting our nation and the world. The conversation with Senator DeMint will highlight the significance of affirming U.S. Constitutional principles and the urgency to advance pro-growth policies. On America's Roundtable Radio, the timely and relevant discussion will address the Biden administration's policies, America's serious economic problems including skyrocketing inflation now at 8.6% (fastest pace in 41 years), and the high energy costs adversely impacting American families and small businesses. The U.S. economy and the nation's security is dependent on energy; however, government policies and stringent regulations being imposed from Washington, DC, have undermined America's energy independence and placed the nation at great risk. Senator DeMint will present his views on the Federal Reserve's announcement on Wednesday of a 0.75-percentage-point raise of the federal-funds rate, the central bank’s largest rate hike since 1994. Senator DeMint will also address the national security crisis and humanitarian crisis at the U.S. southern border. The discussion will place the spotlight on the goals of the Democratic Party's policies which reveal a troubling vision whereby the Department of Homeland Security is set to punish Border Patrol agents while refusing to uphold a rule of law based immigration system and shore up national security at the borders. Update: 50 Illegal immigrants on the terror list were apprehended at the border by Customs and Border Protection in 2022 thus far. This figure is more than the total number caught in the last five years combined. The dangerous activities of transnational organized crime networks at the border include human trafficking and smuggling of drugs such as fentanyl. The New York Times reported, "...deaths from drug overdoses rose again to record-breaking levels in 2021, nearing 108,000, the result of an ever-worsening fentanyl crisis, according to preliminary new data published on Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention." The program will cover Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the brutal warfare resulting in 1,000 casualties per day in the Donbas region, and the significance of affirming America's long-standing policy of peace through strength. Iran is dangerously close to completing its nuclear weapons program. Senator Jim DeMint has fought tirelessly for freedom, prosperity, and traditional American values against the Washington swamp for over two decades. Today, he leads and trains a new generation of conservative warriors as Chairman of the Conservative Partnership Institute. DeMint represented South Carolina in the U.S. House (1999-2005) and U.S. Senate (2005-2013). Looking back on what Church leaders, others of influence have said about the historic Washington D.C. Temple

The Washington D.C. Temple has been an iconic sight on the National Capital Beltway since its dedication in 1974. In 2018, the temple closed for needed renovations and updating. As The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prepares to wrap up the open house for the newly renovated Washington D.C. Temple this week, Church leaders and others of influence speak of the importance of temples on this episode of the Church News podcast. During the public open house, more than 250,000 people toured the historic temple. Elder David A. Bednar, Elder Quentin L. Cook, Elder D. Todd Christofferson and Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Sister Sharon Eubank and Sister Reyna I. Aburto of the Relief Society general presidency; members of the local temple committee and others are featured in this episode of the Church News podcast — which highlights much of what has been said about the Washington D.C. Temple.

Encore "The Difference Between Acute and Chronic Pain"

Encore "The Difference Between Acute and Chronic Pain"
Dr. Jim Arcand, D.C. (Grants Pass, OR), Chiropractor, discusses the two basic forms of physical pain: acute and chronic. Acute pain, for the most part, results from disease, inflammation or injury to tissues. It is immediate and usually of short duration and a normal response to injury. Chronic pain is continuous pain that persists for more than three months. The cause is not always evident and can often interfere with a patient's quality of life, sleep and productivity. Second guest, Bob Fuhrmann (Wyoming), Education Director with Yellowstone National Park, discusses the majestic beauty of America’s first national park. Established in 1872, and located in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, Yellowstone possess the most spectacular natural features including Old Faithful and a collection of the world's most extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone (Part 1). Episode #20: Molly Ruland 🇺🇸 🇨🇷 🎙

    Episode #20: Molly Ruland 🇺🇸 🇨🇷 🎙

My humble little Who in the World podcast has now hit 20 episodes, with such an eclectic and interesting cast of characters that I’ve been fortunate enough to know in my life.

And you can expect a lot more remarkable people from my journey, starting today with my new-but-great friend, Molly Ruland.

For many years, Molly was an activist and community organizer in Washington D.C., hosting underground music and artistic events at the iconic One Love Massive space as well and being integral in the “DC as Fuck” scene.

But I first met Molly in Tamarindo, Costa Rica when we both moved there in late 2020 as Covid-era refugees (at that time, the only safe choices for expats were pretty much Costa Rica or Nicaragua!).

Molly was thrilled to be there from the start, living by the beach in the tropics as she ran her thriving podcast production company, HeartCast Media.

But only a few short weeks after she arrived in the land of pura vida – pure life – she ran into a nightmare when she was drugged and rubbed during a home invasion.

Despite that horrific start, Molly bounced back and refused to quit or run – a testament to her strength, character, and no-back-down spirit. Not only did she keep her bags unpacked and remained in Costa Rica, but she found a way to thrive, creating an intentional, balanced, healthy new life.

She continues to explore Costa Rica while running HeartCast and other media projects like a bad ass boss, and recently bought an incredibly beautiful property right on lake Arenal in the country’s most underrated region.

In this podcast, I catch up with Molly right before she heads back to D.C. to work the National Cannabis Festival and hang out with Wiz Khalifa, so we certainly had a lot to talk about…and celebrate!

Enjoy this chat with Molly Ruland and thanks again for listening and sharing this podcast with your homies.

    Cheers to 20 more episodes!

    -Norm :-)

“True Blood” Vampire Fangs from the Dentist: When you’re too successful at driving the wrong traffic to your website – Episode #5

“True Blood” Vampire Fangs from the Dentist: When you’re too successful at driving the wrong traffic to your website – Episode #5

In Episode #5, Daniel Burstein, Senior Director of Content & Marketing, MarketingSherpa, interviewed  Jonathan Fashbaugh, President, Pro Impressions Marketing (https://www.proimpressionsgroup.com/).

Some lessons from Fashbaugh that emerged in the discussion:

    • Popular content isn't always the best content for the client. His team blogged on a dentist’s website about the vampire fang effect that was used in the TV show “True Blood.” The post explained how people could get porcelain veneers that looked like fangs…only problems was, the dentist did not offer that service.
    • Well-written content put together by someone who understands the business can go a very long way toward the client's success. Fashbaugh went to seminars with a dentist, shared a hotel with him, and was his hands-on patient for the courses they attended together. He used this course as experience to help inform the website he was building for the dentist.
    • Attention to detail in a niche pays dividends. Dentists have taught Fashbaugh to be very picky. There was a stock photo floating around that many design companies were using. But if you looked closely, the model was missing one of her teeth toward the back of her mouth.

Fashbaugh also shared lessons he learned from the people he collaborated with in his career:

    • Robin Schmachtenberger, Owner, idolum – Don't go around your supervisor, and you don't throw your weight around as the new person.
    •  Bill Fukui, Senior Director of Business Development, MedShark Digital – Always get the client or prospect on the phone before you give up the goods.
    •  Jeff Haddad, Owner and Dentist, Rochester Advanced Dentistry – Communicating with consumers in their language.

Ambassador Abdulla Al Khalifa | The U.S. - Bahrain Partnership | U.S. - Bahrain Free Trade Agreement | The Abraham Accords | Strengthening Economic and Security Ties
The Kingdom of Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States, Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa joins America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy for a conversation on American-Bahraini relations dating back to the late 19th century. Bahrain is a home to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet and U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, and is a strategic partner in U.S.-led military coalitions, including the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. The U.S-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement (FTA) entered into force in 2006, generating additional commercial opportunities for both countries. Ambassador Al Khalifa is dedicated to strengthening the longstanding friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States to drive the two countries’ shared vision for security, prosperity and friendship. He is a steadfast advocate for Bahrainis in the US and an emissary of peace to the American people. According to Talmudic references, Jews resided in Bahrain since ancient times and Arabic records highlight the co-existence of Arabs and Jews dating back some 1,400 years ago. During the 12 century, Benjamin of Tudela, a medieval Jewish traveler, wrote about Africa, Asia, and Europe, and recounted that Jews were engaged in the local pearl industry. Bahrain has a population of 1.7 million people, with access to a much larger market within the Gulf Cooperation Council, comprising of estimated over 65 million people, as well as to the Arab League, which totals 407 million people of its member countries, mostly living in the Middle East and Northern Africa. On Bahrain's economic sphere, a US government report states: "The banking and finance sector is the largest non-oil contributor to Bahrain’s economy. Bahrain is home to 376 financial institutions and the second largest Islamic finance hub after Malaysia, with over $31.4 billion in assets under management. Aluminum manufacturing accounts for the bulk of Bahrain’s manufacturing sector, and contributes 12 percent of GDP.
