60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: What Might You Do When You’re Underly Busy?

60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: What Might You Do When You’re Underly Busy?

Hello to you listening in Kelseyville, California!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Maybe like me you have spaces in the year when you are not overly busy. In fact, you might even be underly busy. Perhaps your reaction is to scramble to be productive. But productivity is not always related to action.

What if there’s another valuable way to use the underly busy times?  Amos Tversky, an expert of decision making, wrote, “The secret to doing good research is always to be a little underemployed. You waste years by not being able to waste hours.” [Amos Tversky — An Amazing Man]

Practical Tip: What’s the rush? Give yourself permission to experience letting go, to devote time to quietly day-dreaming while giving your wonderfully creative imagination time to be in stillness, show up, and like mmmagic! solve a problem (or 3) when you least expect it!

You’re invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, follow, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! music for dreaming

    music for dreaming

welcome to synthquest: relaxing, ambient soundscapes, 100% improvised, unedited, live and of the moment. meditation music for music lovers and an ambient music anti-show! put on your sleep mask, sit in meditation, settle into shavasana, embark on your evening walk,  draw yourself a bath, and get ready for synthquest!

you know those really great weekend dreams that are so good that when you wake up , you do everything you can to fall back into them? dreams with substance and plot and people you’re enjoying. you end up sleeping 2 hours longer just seeing how many times you can doze back into the dream story.

I used to summon immersive dreams like that daydreaming as a child. bored suburban blank spaces I was eager to fill with the contents of my imagination. whole worlds to contentedly get lost in for hours.

I think that’s why so many people think of music and other creativity as a kind of magic — it comes from nothing. a necessary ingredient for its creation is substantive, paradoxically purposeful blank, open, spacey  nothingness. our dreams and visions and creations and art are a mysterious alchemy in defiance of the first law of thermodynamics: something really can be created from nothing.

today i invite you into our dreamy dive into nothingness. may i give you nothing.

i highly recommend listening to synthquest through headphones. i'll also suggest settling into someplace comfortable to listen, or listening during a bath, massage, on a walk, while you make dinner — basically wherever you go or whatever you do to relax and decompress.

S02 E15: Pehla Nasha Pehla Khumaar

It takes just that one person to make or break the day, their sight like a beautiful sunset, bringing so much joy in the heart and a swarm of butterflies in the gut. Every romantic song is strongly felt and emotions overflow like never before. The day is consumed in their thoughts and often we find ourselves looking somewhere faraway grinning like an idiot. All of these are symptoms of having a crush in life and we can't deny that it is the best feeling ever! Sometimes a crush might like us back and that can lead to a road less travelled but mostly that never happens, often the heart is left crushed but still, that phase becomes positively etched in memory.
Rytasha & Ayushi become teenagers for a while as they get nostalgic about their time in school and college, and the times someone made their hearts flutter and eventually crush it (or not, that's something we find out in the episode). Tune in for a trip down the old lanes and times insane.

We promise to incorporate your thoughts & queries. Do write to us on: aglastationadulthood@gmail.com

23 - “Unicorn Land” by Georgie Curtis

Georgiana “Georgie” Curtis, four years old, was born and raised in New York, New York. She is currently riding out the current crisis in Big Sky Montana. Recently her parents discovered her staring directly into the sun with her eyes closed—when asked why she was doing this, she replied “this is how I can see what is going on in Unicorn Land right now”. In addition to being the foremost authority on Unicorn land, Georgiana serves as an amazing big sister to her brother Gordon…who respects her interest in all things unicorn, but prefers trucks and dinosaurs.

Her adventures can be seen on her father's instagram account: @thatwasdelightful

This piece was created because now more than ever, we need to remember that unicorn land is there for us if we want it to be.
