    Andy the Talking Hedgehog

    Andy the Talking Hedgehog

Welcome back to another whimsical episode of Bad Dads Film Review! Today, we're stepping out of our usual cinematic realms and diving into the charmingly peculiar world of Andy the Talking Hedgehog.

Andy the Talking Hedgehog is one of those movies that make you wonder about the endless possibilities of family film-making. Released in 2018, this film introduces us to the titular character, Andy, a hedgehog who, much to everyone's surprise, can talk!

In this family adventure, we follow the story of a young girl named Lily, who discovers that her little pet hedgehog, Andy, has quite the gift – he can speak! But Andy's not just a cute conversationalist; he's got a mission to save his family from an evil animal experimenter. It's a tale that weaves together themes of friendship, bravery, and the importance of protecting animals.

Tara Reid and Dean Cain add a sprinkle of star power to this indie film. Their presence brings a nostalgic touch, reminding us of their more high-profile roles in the past.

Let's be honest, dads – we've all sat through our fair share of talking animal movies. We'll chat about how Andy the Talking Hedgehog stacks up in this unique genre and share some of our favourite moments from the film (and maybe a few that had us scratching our heads).

So, gather the kiddos, prep some snacks, and settle in for a film that's sure to be a unique addition to your family movie night. Join us on Bad Dads Film Review as we explore the quirky and endearing world of Andy the Talking Hedgehog. It’s a hedgehog adventure like no other! 🦔🎬👨‍👧‍👦🍿

Day of the Dead & Addams Family Reunion

Day of the Dead & Addams Family Reunion
Overlapping Dialogue's 2nd Annual Spooktober Spooktacular marches on with a duo of films that will be sure to scare your socks off, either through genuine terror or the fact that they're genuinely terrible. Up first, George Romero's 1985 conclusion to his legendary zombie "trilogy," Day of the Dead. We dig into a discussion about why exactly this least celebrated entry of the three is perhaps the series' most narratively and thematically daring offering and find every opportunity to crack up at the ironically excessive performance of Joe Pilato as Captain Rhodes. Speaking of unhinged hilarity...our second film, Addams Family Reunion is most certainly the former in its unsuccessful attempt in achieving the latter. Listen as we puzzle over the appeal of the creepiest and cookiest family in all of pop culture, take stock of the 90s craze of TV to film adaptations, try deciphering the plot of this half-baked disaster, and take every ounce of solace we can in a far-too-good old geezer turn from the great Ray Walston. Midweek Mention... The Debt Collector

    Midweek Mention... The Debt Collector

Stuntman and fight choreographer turned writer and director Jesse V. Johnson's third collaboration with English martial artist Scott Adkins was 2018's THE DEBT COLLECTOR, a superior DTV action crime-thriller. Adkins plays French, an ex-paratrooper and martial arts instructor who becomes drawn into the criminal underground as a debt collector when his dojo is affected by financial troubles. Johnson's energetic script fizzes and crackles as the action escalates but it's the chemistry between Adkins and his partner Sue (Louis Mandylor) that really elevates this to classic status.

    Doppelgänger (w/ Becky Wilson)

    Doppelgänger (w/ Becky Wilson)

December. The time of year when we remember family and friends... and forget to listen to Kill By Kill. Well, you're going to remember this! We're unlocking one of our favorite episodes from the Patreon vault: 1990's Doppelgänger starring an underaged and under-clothed Drew Barrymore and Fade To Black's Dennis Christopher! We talk about blood showers, obvious background acting, hat characterization, Mission Impossible masks, and the film's many endings - none of which you will believe! Plus, we've got a very sexy Choose Your Own Deathventure, and Patrick admits that he doesn't understand this movie. Like, at all!
