    Peripheries: Episode 6

    Peripheries: Episode 6

Rachel shares a letter from Ireland, where a teacher asks her the definition and meaning of the Pan African Diaspora, as well as the difference between Black and African American. This letter also brings up Rachel's name change to Nkechi in 2016, and she elaborates on the meaning and distinction between her personal & public names.

Ep 205. Rachel Dolezal Got a Body Ody

Ep 205. Rachel Dolezal Got a Body Ody
In this episode, Shanti laments after the realization that Philly is wildly segregated while Antoinette's plants teach her yet another life lesson. Together, they examine the authenticity of governments like Cuba's uplifting LGBTQIA families and brands such as M&Ms deep diving into DE&I work. Finally, we discuss Netflix's ethical or unethical approach to the new Jeffrey Dahmer show, transracial pioneer Rachel Dolezal seemingly being forced into Only Fans and Shanti capes for City's Girls' Caresha, and her dreams of becoming the next "Black Oprah" (which makes no sense). Ep30- The Case of Race and Dignity

Ep30- The Case of Race and Dignity

In this episode, the informant talked about dignity as a sense of mutual self-worth within the human race and race and gender as social constructs that serve to disrupt our overall sense of oneness with each other.

She also talked about blackness within global white supremacy, about multiple community membership versus single community membership, and about identity as a contested concept.

    Soul Man Movie Commentary

    Soul Man Movie Commentary

So, Pierre and I decide to get topical. When this movie came out in 1986, even the trailer made us /facepalm as 10 year olds. But recently, unless you've been avoiding all news and social media, you may have noticed recently life has kinda imitated "art." Could it be the head of the Spokane NAACP was inspired this awful movie? Ok, probably not, but we decide to make the commentary a little more serious, as only American middle class white guys can when spouting off opinions about the depressing state of race relations. (like our opinions matter most)

To sync up the commentary with the movie, start the track when the "NEW WORLD PICTURES" logo comes up.

*By the way, if you like these commentary tracks, naturally you should love Rifftrax! They do what we do, but a lot funnier and they sort of came up with the idea 25 years ago. Click below to view their site - it won't hurt, we promise.
