Leverkusen continued to impress, ending Wolfsburg's strong form at home, while Bayern, Dortmund, and Stuttgart ensured we might have a title race beyond just the same two teams this year! Dino Toppmöller is building patiently, yet convincingly at Eintracht Frankfurt as they inflicted on Hoffenheim their loss at home this season, while Augsburg scored 5(!) at Heidenheim and Union suffered their 8th(!) consecutive loss in all competitions.

It's been a year since Xabi Alonso took the reins at Leverkusen, and after seven games of the new season, they are top of the league and have recorded their greatest-ever start to the season. Jan (@JanAageFjortoft) praises "underrated" Coman as part of a Bayern team that dominated against Freiburg, while Dortmund's second-half performance ensured Union Berlin suffered their seventh(!) loss in a row. Markus  (@MarkusFjortoft) gives credit where credit is due to Bochum goalkeeper Manuel Riemann, who saved two(!) penalties and wonders whether he could be a man for Germany. We also go through the rest of the games as the likes of an Eintracht record their first win of the season, and Augsburg's defeat to Darmstadt makes us wonder who will be the first Bundesliga manager out the door. Jan Åge Fjørtoft (@JanAageFjortoft) and Markus Fjortoft (@MarkusFjortoft) enjoyed a lengthy chat about life and the Bundesliga. Jan had spent the last four days in Munich, dissecting the weekend's events (alongside Stefan Effenberg, who joins us in this episode) and the ongoing stories surrounding Bayern - particularly Thomas Müller and his uncertain future. Jan discussed Müller's meetings with Brazzo and Kahn (and not Tuchel), highlighting the unique nature of the situation in Germany. Further, he discussed the segment he did over the weekend in which German television went through all his comments on Bayern over the last year, which all proved to be true. So much for Bayern not being interested in Haaland... Meanwhile, Markus went back to his roots in Swindon and celebrated with the airplane gesture.

However, there was little cause for celebration at Eintracht, as tensions continued to rise between Head Coach Glasner and the management. Jan analyzed the situation from an insider's perspective. They also discussed the disappointing lack of goals from the top scorers, with fan-favorite Füllkrug leading the list. Additionally, they delved into the fiercely contested relegation battle and the teams vying to replace them, as Hamburg SV aimed to end their five-year Bundesliga absence and catch up to Darmstadt and Heidenheim.
