159: She's not the type of girl you stop seeing. | Final Analysis (1992)

Well, in this film we didn't get a Final Analysis but boy did we get a whiplash of a story. Based on the movie poster I thought I was getting this racy erotic thriller and while we kinda did, we ended up getting baited and switched in a good way.

Me and Charles had a good first time watch with some surprising results. The fashion, the film noir structure, and the nod to Hitchcock we definitely noticed.

Off-topic rants include: 60 Days In, fav movie of the weeks from the 90210 casts during summer hiatus

Hitman in London (Skin Traffik) Mickey Rourke film discussion

Hitman in London (Skin Traffik) Mickey Rourke film discussion

Lesser know British gangster action drama A Hitman in London, also known as Skin Traffik (2015) has Mickey Rourke as mysterious Vogel, a small role but compelling.

Stuntman, producer and actor Gary Daniels, is the skilled above average fighting lead alongside all star brilliant B-cast Jeff Fahey, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Eric Roberts, Alan Ford of SNATCH (2000) and underrated Dominique Swain.

Not the best but rough around the edges action with an emotional story makes this one work, just.
Enjoy my rundown with a focus on Mickey and his paisley collared shirt, I'd wear it.

    Final Friday: Megaboa (2021)

    Final Friday: Megaboa (2021)

Eric Roberts stars in Megaboa, an absolutely wild movie where college students are searching for petroglyphs in the rainforest and encounter an ancient, over-sized snake.

This movie really doesn't hold back on anything and is about as fun as it gets. We love watching creature features, but some just don't provide the entertainment value we like. Megaboa absolutely does as Eric Roberts sits in one spot for almost the entire movie and just when you thought you saw enough of the big boa constrictor, a large spider joins the party. Check out the movie and catch our review.

Doctor Who Rewatch | The TV Movie

Doctor Who Rewatch | The TV Movie

    It's about time!

Listen in to this week's episode of WHO CORNER TO CORNER in which our hosts Paul and Geoff travel back in time to the Wilderness Years of the 90s to revisit the island of joy that is the Doctor Who TV Movie.

Starring Paul McGann as the 8th Doctor, featuring Sylvester McCoy's  final moments as the 7th Doctor and Hollywood's very own Eric Roberts as the Master, the TV Movie was a glorious big budget, large scale attempt to resurrect a show considered dead and gone by the BBC.

The result of a troubled transatlantic co-deal between Universal, Fox and BBC Worldwide, the TV Movie thrusts the 'quintessentially British' Doctor Who into a landscape of 90s American TV tropes: hospital drama, urban gang war, cop chase and quirky romance.

Was it all too much for this little British show to hold? Was Doctor Who stretched too far? Or did the American framework and the ambitions of producer Philip Segal provide just enough fuel to re-ignite the British public's imagination and prove to the BBC that Doctor Who could indeed return for a new generation?

Listen in as we discuss the TV Movie's ambitions, its flaws and its triumphs!

    Ep. 37: Grinding, Stuffing & Teddy’s Barbecue

    Ep. 37: Grinding, Stuffing & Teddy’s Barbecue

In this episode I am joined by Jaime, Hector, Johnny and Hiram (virtually) as we talk a little Dodgers meltdown or just their lack of available players. Hiram and Jaime make a little wager on the World Series.  Hector jumps off the burning covered wagon that is Baker Mayfield.  He also lost a little faith in Oklahoma.  I plan to make a visit to Austin to see my Longhorns after almost 2 years.  We give the results of the cap giveaway.

We paid a little visit to a local barbecue joint called Teddy's Barbecue.  They were recently recognized in the Texas Monthly Top 50 barbecue restaurants.  We talk a little bit about what we ate and the quality of their food.  We compare it to the closest you'll get to Austin, Central Texas barbecue here on the southern border.  We had brisket, pork belly and some choriqueso sausage.  Hector also gives a recap of his visit to Burnt Bean Barbecue which landed in the 4th spot in the Texas Monthly rankings.

We did it!!! We made some sausage.  Hector shows up to my house with commercial sausage grinding and stuffing machines.  He puts his special blend of his seasonings as well as high temp cheese and jalapenos.  The meat is made up of brisket point and pork shoulder.  We ended up making close to 30 sausage links.  Hector spends the next day cold smoking the rest of the sausages.  The outcome was very surprising and hard to believe how well it came out.

Hiram takes us behind the red carpet as he gives his opinion on how someone could get shot on the set of a movie production.  Yes the Alec Baldwin story.  He talks about some of the weapons he's wielded on his  high budget movie set.  Yes there were some lasers and Eric Roberts.

We end up talking about our friend of the podcast Deshawn Watson and the trade rumors.  The guys want to know if we can get Deshawn on the podcast.  Johnny has some interesting questions for him.

A bunch of joes that cook like pros!!!
