For most mompreneurs, summer can be the most difficult time of the year to remain in balance and keep a home business flourishing. DON'T PANIC. Summer is supposed to be fun for everyone... remember?

Putting things into place ahead of time can help you battle the burden of multi-tasking your biz with your summer babies.

Here are some summer survival tips that will give you the time off that you deserve without blowing the school-in-session-momentum of your home business.
1. Work then play, every day.

In other words... Bribery!
"Mommy has some important work to get done today. If you can play quietly in your room until noon, I'll take us to the pool for the rest of the day. Deal?"
2. Auto response that email.

Years ago I received one from a colleague that had me jumping up and down with gratitude. I stole her message right away:
"Thank you for your message. I dedicate most of my year to my clients, but summers are for my kids. Therefore, please expect delays on my email replies. Thank you for understanding that I do what I do for my family."

Boom! No expression of remorse in sight for this proud momprenuer!
3. Hire Your Kids.

Depending on the age of your kids, there are a variety of ways to get them involved and feeling like proud contributors of the family business. Don't trust them with a task? Fake it. Have your little ones place stickers on notecards for a few pennies while the older kids help you edit some fun online videos for the big bucks.
4. Get up Early!

Mornings are perfect for catching up with emails, lining up some scheduled social media posts, or writing press releases. You might even get a few phone calls in before breakfast!
5. Trade time with other WAHMs.

Call a town meeting with your mom friends and work out a weekly schedule in which you trade hours for hours. Once in place, put work time in your online scheduler and book clients accordingly.

Meet Sari Davidson-Crevin!

Sari Davidson-Crevin is a mother-of-two and the CEO and Founder of the BooginHead Corporation, which is changing the world by bringing products to parents to make their lives easier. Sari came up with the term BooginHead to describe her two sons that oftentimes did things they knew they shouldn't do, but they did them regardless and it made her laugh. To fix the problem of her son constantly throwing his sippy cup to the floor, Sari invented the SippiGrip.

This week, I am pleased to introduce you to a long-time colleague who I've had the pleasure of watching blossom in her business and brand. What gives? If you are like most of the moms I meet who have decided to bring their careers home, your biggest frustration comes from the lack of results from all of your hard work. You may have the business idea of the century, be completely fabulous at what you do, you may even have a huge following of fans who tell you how much they admire you. But when it comes to make money, there is a real lack. You may be busy...but your also broke. Its time for rapid results. It happens to the best of us, and the busiest of us. I get you, moms. There simply is no more TIME to invest in your business. You've been patient. And patient. And patient. Its time to get the outcome you have been working towards. The answer is simple. First we need to evaluate your activities and then we need to leverage them. You've only got 6 hours a week to grow your business? Great! If that is all we've got to work with, then lets make those 6 hours count. I've called upon the best person that I know to help in this area, Coach Jenn Lee. Although we'd all love more TIME, wishing for it won't make us more productive. Jenn Lee is a Ninja when it comes to showing us how to trim the fat from our time sucking tasks and focus on being more effective with what little time we do have.

Stepping up and standing out. We are truly living in a generation of possiblity. If you want to bring your career home, there really are no more excuses. Whether you have invented a product, conceptualized a must-need service, or simply want to join a ready made direct sales team-- opportunities are abundant! Filling an existing need. There are dreamers and then there are DOERS. So many of the successful mom and dad entrepreneurs that have visited us on This Little Parent Stayed Home took their struggle and turned it into a solution. Their darkest hour and most challenging moments became the seed in which their business eventually blossomed. Filling an existing need doesn't just mean creating something where once there was nothing. Not an inventor? No problem! Filling a need might mean knowing how to align your personal attributes -- your skills, your talents, your visions, your RESOURCES-- with the available opportunities. Opportunities are abundant! Don't see them? You may be walking through life with your EYES WIDE SHUT. Every day I see social media posts from a friend or colleague who is in need of some kind of support. Step up with your hand raised high! Mom and Pop have firmly found their place in the new economy. Much of this economic revolution came about from a renaissance of ideas and a need for change. Family life was the new priority and therefore family-run businesses began to boom. Some didn't make it, but continued to reinvent themselves until a decent way of life was restored. Others navigated paths to success on their own accord -- by exceeding their own expectations, staying fueled by passion and MARCHING ON!! Everyone has a story. When spoken from the heart, most stories will sell. One of my favorite stories of success comes from my good friend, Amy Beth Pitcher, the owner and creator of Country Home Gourmet, a direct sales and party plan company that was seeded, planted and grown -- from scratch-- by herself and her husband, Shane. In addition to being a business leader and an inspiration to hundreds of personal consultants across the country, Amy Beth served in the United States Airforce while raising her family. Unlock the Power of Your Mind. I LOVE PUZZLES. Crossword, Sudoku, Riddles-- even jigsaws. I wasn't always this geeky. As a child, I don't remember enjoying USING MY BRAIN this much. Not in the least. But as an adult...I not only see the benefits of keeping my mind alert... I FEEL IT. It's like exercise for my brain. I love figuring things out, narrowing down possible solutions through processes of elimination, pattern recognition, mathematics and science...searching for different colors, shapes, insights, nuggets of information ...to be pieced together collectively in a way that will bring new insights into focus --- unlocking higher levels of consciousness, paving the way for different opportunities and awakening new schools of thought. Sometimes putting our LIVES together can feel like a multi-faceted, big puzzle filled with unexpected twists and turns... but ultimately leading us to a higher purpose or a desirable end result... (WE HOPE!) Your BRAIN is the most valuable resource that you have-- and NO ONE can take it away from you. The Left-brain thinks logically and follows sequence while the right brain is creative, intuitive and emotional. When you are able to use both sides of the brain, you will find that your mind power is harnessed to its best potential and improves in critical thinking skills and problem solving ability. NOW we are being told that our brain has the ability to heal diseases, improve our quality of life, help us to fall in love, and bring us unlimited funds. The concept of abundance appeals to everyone for obvious reasons. We have been told that advances in the field of quantum physics over the last fifty years are beginning to provide scientific validation for principles like "law of attraction" and other creative concepts. It is no longer possible to blow off the reality of vibrational influences on our physical reality. It is believed that by implementing certain principles into your business, you will be able to spend less time on marketing efforts and MORE TIME on weighing your choices. Those who are applying these "beliefs" report feeling less stressed, more clear on their intentions, and their goals seem to materialize with less effort. Achieving Great Success Starts With a Bit of Reprogramming. It's not that I didn't believe in The Law of Attraction -- it's that as much as I WANTED to wrap my brain around this trendy topic (brought into pop culture through the movie, "The Secret") I couldn't help my skepticism. I had questions -- lots of them-- and without answers... it felt... like... an unsolved puzzle. And because I LOVE puzzles, I went on a hunt to unveil the big mystery.
