Dealing with Addiction - Goodbye Too Soon - Randi-Lee Bowslaugh

Episode 46: Your Evolutionary Path - Part II

Episode 46: Your Evolutionary Path - Part II

In the last episode, we spoke about close relationships and what they mean in terms of our Evolutionary Path. We need to cease imposing our values or expectations on others. Instead, concentrate on altering who we are and how we react to situations. It is said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Gandhi

Without force, and only without force, can you be seen as you truly are. If something is not really given, you can never really have it, can you? You do not really have love, when you force it. You really just have disappointment. You do not really have success, when you force it. You really just have anxiety. You do not really have respect, when you force it. You really just have anger.

Join Rachel and her guests Angela and Jessica as they continue their discussion.

Day 28 Complacency: The dangers of comfort

Day 28 Complacency: The dangers of comfort

In today's episode, I look at the difference between Complacency and Contentment. Now, what is the difference? Complacency is “a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like; it is self-satisfaction or smug satisfaction with an existing situation, condition, or circumstance. It is that wonderful feeling of being fulfilled and comfortable, assuming that things will stay the same, causing us to remain in that comfort zone, doing just enough to get by and keep our life as is.  Contentment is having the attitude of working hard and being able to be happy with the outcome of your hard work, no matter what the results are. This is the opposite of complacency really, these two words or ideas are worlds apart from each other.

Episode 33: The Relationship with Your Body - Part II

Listen to Part 2  of the relationship between you and your body, as we discuss improving your health and overall lifestyle, with our very dear guest Jacque. We learn in recovery that when we start working the program, the doors magically open when we continue to do the right things. But that’s just a small part of the whole. We must apply that to all aspects of our lives, starting with our bodies;  a shrine that is the center of that universe and it is there to serve us. We all know that you are what you eat, and it’s directly linked with raising your energetic vibrations and ultimately attracting what you most desire.

    Episode 17: Relapse Prevention - Part I

    Episode 17: Relapse Prevention - Part I

Jonathan & Rachel bring up a very serious topic and discuss it in 3 parts. The first one being on what you can implement to avoid a Relapse.

    Notes from Podcast:

    1. Take care of yourself. It’s progression not perfection.
    2. Don’t isolate yourself. Alcohol breaths isolation – feeling of loneliness, anxiety and boredom can sneak up. Go to meetings, meetings, meetings (online/offline)
    3. Call another alcoholic to have your own little mini session.
    4. Surround yourself with winners/ big influencers. As the old saying goes “Show me who your friends are, and I’ll tell you who you are.” Or,  what your future will look like.
    5. Do service/speak at meetings/step outside yourself. It really works!
    6. Don’t let a relationship rule you and make them your higher power. It’s a sure way to fall off the wagon and loose yourself in it.
    7. Don’t depend on anything outside yourself to fill up that void.
    8. Do things that make YOU happy.
    9. Work the 12 steps in all of your affairs on a daily basis.
    10. Find your higher power, YOUR CHI, by practicing prayer and mediation.
    11. Learn to quiet your mind and overcome the ego.
    12. Be grateful for that you have and live in the present moment.
