Reversing Crohn's And Colitis With A Paleo Ketogenic Diet

Reversing Crohn's And Colitis With A Paleo Ketogenic Diet

Chris was 90 lbs. and bedridden from debilitating digestive upset. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease/ulcerative colitis. He struggled for years and his doctor told him to keep taking the medication (even though it was causing him liver damage), to plan on getting a liver transplant someday in the future, and to start eating coconut cookies. Chris laughed when his doctor said he should be eating coconut cookies (he actually thought his doctor was joking), but quickly realized that the room full of interns were not laughing and it was not a joke! At that moment, Chris realized he had to take his health into his own hands. Today Chris is off of all of his medications and is a successful engineer. He’s able to go to work, work out at the gym, travel, and live a totally normal life because he radically changed his diet.

428-Chicken Bone Broth-Leek Soup, Chicken Salad Etc.

428-Chicken Bone Broth-Leek Soup, Chicken Salad Etc.

In today's episode, I walk you through a basic bone broth that will yield some delicious soup and extra meat that can be used in many ways. As always, try to use a pasture-raised chicken if possible. The flavor of this broth, especially with the garlic in it, is incredible. This can be strained and used to sip on like a drink for anyone on the GAPS diet. It can be used to make just about any soup and in this case, I describe a simple leek soup. You can learn more about soups by visiting Harvest Eating.

    Jessie Dupree

    Jessie Dupree

My guest this week is Jessie Dupree. Sitting down with Jessie is like a breath of fresh air, her rawness and realness is so refreshing and is sure to leave you feeling comfortable in your own skin. What an incredible she has in that. She will share part of her story of how she was brought up and how God led her through every hardship. She knew early on that God could redeem her story and bring life to other people. She also talks about grief and says, “I think it's important, to be honest with yourself when you're in the midst of grief about where you really are.” I believe this is so important when it comes to grief and how to heal. So get ready to be encouraged!

From Mac & Cheese To Veggies, Please With Guest Heretic, Jennifer Scribner
Welcome back to the second half of our interview with Jennifer Scribner, author of From Mac & Cheese to Veggies, Please: How to get your kid to eat new foods, end picky eating forever, and stay sane in the process! In the first half, we discussed Jennifer’s own challenges as a picky adult and her top 3 strategies for getting kids eating. In today’s episode, I put her on the spot on how to use those strategies to get real food into some of the pickiest eaters I’ve known; including a boy who defiantly tried to starve himself instead of eating dinner, and another whose diet is little more than white bread, Cheerios, peanut butter and white rice with nothing on it.
