    Episode 33 - Belief

    Episode 33 - Belief

We unravel the structure of our beliefs and how it touches upon every aspect of our lives.
Belief in something greater, molds the belief we have in ourselves into something greater.
Compassion for others as we begin to see our own human condition and the false beliefs we ourselves are up against. Learning the characteristics of God. Cause and Effect. We are Architects, yet we pay no attention to the feeble houses we build.

Loving and Learning Through Heroin Addiction

Loving and Learning Through Heroin Addiction

God is present always, everywhere. And Jesus loves us always, everywhere. No matter what our choices are. And sometimes, we are making poor choices and still loving Jesus. We need to embrace that tension. In this episode Beth and Kate James talk about living in that tension with her son, a heroin addict. Are you living with an unknown in your life? You'll be encouraged by Kate's story.

    Reflection Questions:

    1. Who have you been surprisingly drawn to love?
    2. Addiction is not choosy. Has addiction hit your loved ones? How did it affect your pride and humility?
    3. “If you do this, then this will happen. It’s not that simple.” How does this make you feel?
    4. Are you trusting God with an unknown? Are you waking up daily, trusting again?
    5. Humility is necessary to love others and trust Christ. What do you think about that in your own life?

Episode 3: Amanda S @RebelEclectic's Family Helps Her Achieve Recovery

We take a different approach as Episode 3 looks at Family Recovery through the eyes of a daughter with both addiction and chronic pain illnesses. Through her advocacy work on Twitter as @RebelEclectic, Amanda S is widely respected as a person bringing both patient communities together by identifying common ground.  Now you can hear an inspirational story of how she gained health and recovery largely through the loving family that never gave up on her.

Episode 1: Trish Kinkle's Family Recovery From Bill Kinkle's Opioid Addiction

Episode 1: Trish Kinkle's Family Recovery From Bill Kinkle's Opioid Addiction

An inspirational story of true love and personal courage triumphing over heroin addiction and an unscrupulous treatment industry. Trish Kinkle describes the impact of addiction, and the family's recovery from husband Bill Kinkle's life-threatening opioid use disorder. While Bill received treatment from over thirty residential programs, he and the Kinkle family found recovery despite the overwhelmingly harmful treatment received from  professionals. Hear Trish report how she was  shut completely out of his treatment, and professional staff tried to manipulate her husband by falsely claiming she would divorce him. More than a compelling indictment of the industry, this can give every family hope that recovery is always possible.
