Are We Living In A Low Effort Dating Era?

83% of you reckon we live in a low effort dating culture. Where people never put in effort and everyone just bails or ghosts each other.

So are Australians just lazy or have dating apps made everyone burnt out?

Also is it actually a bad thing? Should you expect so much effort at the start of getting to know someone? Dee and Pip hear your hot takes and chat it out.

#462: Dating In 2024? What To Expect

#462: Dating In 2024? What To Expect

It's an episode full of facts and assumptions that kicks off with a look at Samoan law and how it favours men with good memories. After that, a critique of the Epstein list leaves more question than answers as a lot of names remain unmentioned and there's a conspiracy behind it.

From there, based on different platforms creating expectations for the year in their particular fields, it only felt right that we'd have to discuss what to expect this year on our end too.

Can we really make dating apps safer?

Can we really make dating apps safer?

Over the last decade, dating apps have become hugely popular, with millions of Australians now meeting each other online.

But many of the people using them say the apps are also rife with abuse and sexual harassment that often goes unchecked.

Last week, the federal government convened a round table with some of the app companies to discuss ways to make dating safer.

Today, an expert in communications on whether anything will change.

Is The Juice Worth The Squeeze?

Is The Juice Worth The Squeeze?
In a follow up to our last episode, we continue the discussion on the effects the pandemic has had on personal and professional relationships from a millennial mindset as special guest, Ashley Hall, joins the conversation. Are the societal changes we are seeing permanent or just temporary? How are these changes experienced differently by each generation? Ashely shares her views as we unpack some of what she and her peers are experiencing and get their perspectives on personal relating, digital dating, hook up culture, “adulting”, and work/life balance/imbalance in this time of COVID, and what life might look like when we emerge from this forced hibernation and reset our lives on the other side.

What Will Relationships Look Like Post Pandemic?

What Will Relationships Look Like Post Pandemic?
The impacts of the pandemic are just now beginning to be realized. Some are disheartening, like the increase in depression and anxiety. Others are encouraging, like the decrease in smog and pollution. Others are just downright surprising, like the ones we are discussing on this episode.

According to a recent survey published by Cosmopolitan and Esquire, the pandemic might just be the catalyst for a sexual revolution.  A revolution characterized by deeper, more meaningful relationships and a decline in the hook-up culture. Who would have guessed it?

Join us for this encouraging conversation about culture's search for deeper connection post pandemic.

The election wasn't the only thing making history last week. In case you lost yourself counting electoral votes, in an unprecedented move Bachelorette Clare Crawley blew up the show as she declared her love and devotion to Dale Moss after only 12 days of filming.  It was entertaining and mindless, which may be why 5.3 million Americans watched it.

Whether you love it or hate it, the Bachelor franchise has been entertaining us for nearly 19 years. But why? What is it about the show that makes it so popular?

Join us this week as we explore these questions and more as we share our very different opinions on this very important topic. Ok, so it's not really that important, but that's kind of the point.
