    ----------------------------
Join us for a theological deep dive as we discuss whether or not Christians should watch secular TV shows. In this podcast, we'll delve into biblical principles and discuss the potential impact of watching these shows. Stay tuned for part 1 of this thought-provoking series!
    -----------------------------
In this video, I challenge the norm surrounding Christian views on entertainment. Many leaders have overcorrected and added to Scripture when it comes to secular shows. Join me as I breakdown 3 categories of shows that many Christians believe we should avoid watching and why I disagree. From award-winning series like Succession, Breaking Bad, and The Bear to reality TV shows like The Bachelor, and even shows with magical and demonic elements like Avatar the Last Airbender and The Exorcist. Stay tuned for Part 2 where we dive into the theology of entertainment with Scripture and practical advice. Spoiler Warning: I won't spoil any major plot lines but will discuss story threads and subplots. Let's challenge the status quo and find a balanced approach to consuming content. Watch the full video for a comprehensive understanding!

Revive your prayer time 🙏 with these approaches with Yvette Walker

Anytime I needs some fresh joy in my life, I know where to head - to Yvette Walker with the Positively Joy podcast. Yvette’s episode entitled “What to do when you're sleepwalking through life and faith” (Season 13 Episode 23) aired a year ago and was one of the ten most downloaded episodes of 2022. I invited Yvette back to talk about some of the ways we each dig into God’s word and spend time with Him. She shares some specific strategies as well as helping us to pause and ready our hearts for our time. I just loved this conversation.

    We discuss:

    • Resources to help you connect with God’s word
    • The power of pausing before prayer
    • Methods like PRAY, SOAP, and GOD

    Bolts: Matthew 7:1-6

    Bolts: Matthew 7:1-6

Jesus tells the parable of two men: one with a speck in his eye and one with a plank. The parable was aimed at a specific audience of Jesus' day (Hint: They weren't big fans of him) and was intended to encourage a change in perspective and behavior towards ourselves. Join Josh and Femi as they discuss the Parable of the Plank and the Speck.

    Introducing: Bolts with Parable Arrows

Don't worry, our deep dive discussions into stories are not going away! Rather, we are adding a new stream of content to the podcast! Introducing: Bolts.

Bolts will be short, 15ish minute discussions of Bible stories and lessons we can learn from them. As a reminder, we are not doctorate theologians, just two guys who love God, his people, and the stories he has blessed us with in his Word.

If you have a Bible story you would like us to analyze, send us an email or DM!

    C. Aim for the prize

verses 25-26: “Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.”

    Questions

Do you run your rights through the filter of the Gospel? Or do you typically choose the most convenient option?

How does the Gospel speak to the way you view your body?

Besides self-control, what are other ways you could use your body as an instrument of worship for the Lord this week?

How would your week look different if you ran solely focused on the reward from Jesus?
